My god……this franchise is being abused.

Actually…..let me rephrase that…..us pioneer Star Wars fans have gotten plenty of love with Rouge One, The Mandolorian, Ando etc.

But it’s clearly a Disneyfied new show coming with this garbage lol. Cringe worthy trailer.

The series is consciously done in the style of an 80's kids movie, like "The Goonies". When viewed through that lens, I think it actually looks kind of fun. Might not be for me, but if I had younger kids, I bet they would love it.

But this upcoming limited series is my cue…..that it’s not for me and looks extremely lame compared to literally everything I have seen.

It’s an opinion.

Yeah it’s for little kids…..I can recommend far better Star Wars universe movies and series (and I raised my now 19 year old son on the real ****) than what this crap is gonna look like.

Simple as that.

And yeah I think Disney is now a hack company these days. Can’t stand what they have become and how they are literally gonna saturate this franchise because they overpaid Uncle George.

I don’t think they’re out of ideas at all. Andor was incredible, I loved Ashoka, final season of clone wars was great, I didn’t love the acolyte but it was a fresh idea. They’re doing fine imo. This is a show for the kiddos that may have crossover appeal. I’m good with the direction of things. Excited for the acolyte, Andor shows and mando movie.

We've been through this ad nauseam...No I wouldn't.

There's a difference between childlike wonder and childishness. The OT had the former until in '97 it was poisoned by the latter (I'm looking at you, Jedi Rocks).

It's not difficult to suspend disbelief when the subject matter comes across as earnestly trying to please. It is when it demands it.

We're in the social media age and I liked/loved The Clone Wars cartoon and Andor. I tolerated Obi Wan. I outright loathed the sequel trilogy and what I saw of the Acolyte. None of that has anything to do with the age in which I live.

Tony Gilroy will be the same show runner. He did not direct any episodes in season 1 but he did write 5 of the episodes.

Gilroy was a co writer for Rogue One and then moved on to be the show runner for Andor.

Funny that people are finding it to be a problem with Skeleton Crew being a "kids" series for Star Wars, when the whole danged franchise; save for Andor, Rogue One and certain points in Mandolorian,Ashoka and Obi Wan were created for kids. If you'd told me in the past we were getting a show about Obi-Wan where we see prime Vader kicking butt, and a battle between Vader/Obi-Wan we didn't know about, I'd have been jacked to the moon and thought "this is going to be incredible". Instead it was like a network quality TV show. Forgettable and unlikable characters (the ones they added), all the characters making dumb and out of character decisions and changing motivations for no reason other than to advance the plot. Really only one really really cool scene towards the end to redeem the rest of the mediocrity.

Even though it was okay I think it was actually more disappointing than the Acolyte just beacuse the Acolyte was a throwaway storyline and it can just be forgotten. But the source material behind Obi-Wan is now wasted forever, when it should have been done so much better.

I think it's the same thing Rings of Power S1 suffered from. It wasn't BAD per say. It was just pretty a pretty average use of great source material that we'll never get to see done better.

I haven't watched yet. My friend described it as Goonies in Space, but also said it was the most fun he had on a Star Wars production, and he has done every show other than Andor. Said Jude Law and his character are great.
