I had my Terrible Towel with me while I was watching the game. My 3-year old son wanted the towel, so I gave it to him. He starts waving it like a madman. I don't mean rolling the wrists like most of us do; I'm talking using his whole arm like the hands on a clock, with the towel hitting the floor as his hand comes down to the bottom. Of course, he had absolutely no idea why he's waving it; he saw his daddy doing it, and it looked cool, so he wanted to do it.:sniff: Enough to make a grown man  Another :stillers: fan in the making. Now if I could only get him to say:HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!!

Well good and bad news for you. good news you will not get carpel tunnel from waiving your towel. bad news your last win was today cause you gonna get smoked next week
One game at a time, sonny. I don't care how the Steelers win, as long as they win the friggin' game.

There is nothing more I would like to see is a win by the Pats torrow night and then go to Pitt and blow your team out.... But I have to admit, teams that win it all tend to have a break or two go their way during the course of the season. Todays game was a good example of just that.... this really could be the :stillers: year after all.

If there is a God of football, there will be a Pats- :stillers: game next week.

Not sure if the balls slipped or what on those picks. He had a good stretch though in the second half at one-point. I want the Colts - want to knock Manning down a few notches. I think the Steelers D and O style is perfect to beat th Colts, and if they finally get the Pats monkey off their back, the emotional swing would benefit the Steelers IMO. Wouldnt mind beating the champs from last year either, but we did that once already this year.:stillers: :stillers: :stillers:I I I I I GOTTA FEEEEELIN . . . .

I'm exhausted, and it's not only because it's 6:30 AM and I've been going all night.

I've heard, in many different situations, people say they're emotionally spent, but I don't think I ever experienced that feeling until this game. Un-freaking-believable. The Steelers should have lost - (oh yes, they should have) - but they didn't. Ben lost this game (oh yeah, he did) - but in the end he didn't. The defense blew it when it counted (yep, I saw it) - but somehow, someway, some mysterious force pushed that kick wide. The Steelers didn't lose.

My question:

Where were you at when Brien missed "The Kick"?

Pissed, spent, surprised (although not shocked), angry, psychotic, delirious, and at the point of surrendering to the thought of another heart-breaker, as they called Brien on the field, I walked out of my game room, away from the party, and joined my miserable self on my steps in the driveway in front of the garage. I *knew* I wasn't going to hear anything.... there would be no noise.....no cheers.....the game was over.....no way in H ELL he was going to miss again. So there I sat, drunk and hating the world (and thinking how sad it is that the Steelers have such an influence on my emotional well-being), with my head being supported in the hands in my lap. I waited.....listened....waited. Nothing. Thoughts start going through my head It’s over....... Son of a ------. To be this excited - Friday night was MY xmas eve - and to have us lose this game like THIS....we were driving the ball in the 4th....they couldn't move it against us.....Roethlisberger.....you'll be great, but you killed us....I was SO confident. I knew anything could happen....the Jets *could* win....but not like this. Not with the picks. Not with a Bettis fumble. Curse, slam, punch, curse, curse, curse, curse, curse. The house is quiet. F U see kay mother F you see kayers. F U

Then I hear it. My house. My gameroom. IT EXPLODES. In a split second, I fly into the garage, bust through the door, run over the damn cat, bust through the gameroom door, dance a dance I've never danced before, and I think I might have kissed a guy or two. Seriously, this can't be happening.

I GOTTA FEELING...

It was ugly, UGLY, but they won the game. Everything "they" say about us this week will be true. Rothlisberger choked. He lost us the game. The defense let them drive into field goal range at the end of regulation by allowing two huge runs. They should have lost us this game. The Steelers made too many mistakes. Offense, defense....too many mistakes.

But guess what?

The team that makes the least mistakes usually wins. I don't care if Mawae would have made the mistake that made them lose, or if Pennington would have, or if Ellis would have, or Vilma or Hackett or Edwards or whoever. The fact is that a player on the Jets made the bigger of the mistakes, and the Steelers won. Lucky? Maybe. But don't tell that to Jeff Reid.

Congrats to the Jets for giving me the "football watching" ride of my life. I actually feel for the Jet fans. But with that said....

CONGRATULATIONS STEELERS!!!That was an amazing football game. When I see a result like that, the inevitable word is DESTINY. I'm calling it now: the Steelers are going to win the superbowl.Pats/Colts don't have a prayer. :football:

What a boring brand of NFL football.

The Steelers are going to get lit up next week.
You mean by one of the two teams locked in this 6-3 offensive fireworks display?
Colts D = speed
How much is a gram of Colts D going for these days?
I think you can get it in the same bin at Wal-Mart that has the 2 DVDs for $11. You know, the ones that have 85 copies of Hercules in New York in them? :D :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :brush:

i can't wait to hear what excuse you steeler fans will be complaining about after getting beat again by the pats.you'll probably blame the refs, or the cold, or your rookie ben-maybe his hands will be to cold if he doesn't wear his gloves.LOLPS-the pats will have more rushing yards than the steelers today!!!

Well, let's see, we could try, "Our RB didn't play" or "Our DB got hurt" or "you had more time to prepare for the game" or "if our WR hadn't fallen down on that interception"....Oh, wait, those excuses have already been used by some loser team.

just curious-how many AFC championship games do the steelers have to lose before they are considered choke artists????

Good luck to all Steelers fans today. You will truly need it. And if the Steelers can defeat the Patriots, you will have EARNED your first AFC championship in a while.I dont see it happening but I think it will be a close game. Both teams have the reputation for winning the close ones but my money is on Brady over Ben if the game is close.

2001 Jan. 27 New England - Pittsburgh 24-17 Pittsburgh 1997 Jan. 11 Denver - Pittsburgh 24-21 Pittsburgh

1995 Jan. 14 Pittsburgh - Indianapolis 20-16 Pittsburgh

1994 Jan. 15 San Diego - Pittsburgh 17-13 Pittsburgh

1984 Jan. 6 Miami - Pittsburgh 45-28 Miami

1979 Jan. 6 Pittsburgh - Houston 27-13 Pittsburgh

1978 Jan. 7 Pittsburgh - Houston 34-5 Pittsburgh

1976 Dec. 26 Oakland - Pittsburgh 24-7 Oakland

1975 Jan. 4 Pittsburgh - Oakland 16-10 Pittsburgh

1974 Dec. 29 Pittsburgh - Oakland 24-13 Oakland

1972 Dec. 31 Miami - Pittsburgh 21-17 Pittsburgh

For those of you educated in public schools, that's a record of 5-6 (.455). I'll take 11 AFC Championship game appearances, eight of them at home (if you want to throw out '72 since they didn't go by best record then, I'll give you that one). I didn't count, but if it's not the most appearances, it's darn close. Even if you want to look at Cowher's 1-3 record, NONE of those four games were blowouts, and the Steelers played up until the end in each of them.

"Choke" is not a word that applies to the Steelers.

Oh yeah... :stillers: :stillers: :stillers:
