I picked him off the WW this week. I don't need him by any means but I grabbed him and have him on the bench in a wait and see. Hopefully he develops into tradebait
qimqam I think it was a joke you clearly missed.

C'mon .... r you pullin my leg?qimqam I think it was a joke you clearly missed.
No way! never owned or plan to own BJGE, for he is on a BB's NE team and not fantasy worthy in terms of consistency, IMO.What a terrible comparison. Your frustration is reflected in your writing ... I suspect you own BJGE.What's with all the hype after one week? on a BB's NE team no less! This dude is nothing more than a very poor man's DWill (RB with ball hog as a QB, while other players and another RB gets all the goal line look), except Ridley isn't even a starter while the true starter is doing quite well and a very consistent PROVEN player... after MANY games.
I guess this makes sense for the past couple years. But Dillon was damn solid. No way! never owned or plan to own BJGE, for he is on a BB's NE team and not fantasy worthy in terms of consistency, IMO.What a terrible comparison. The only value in RB on a NE team is a goal-line back, even then BB drop RBs like bad habits if they are injured... he is the epitome of "what have you done for me lately" type of a coach and a master of plug n play, Dangerous coaching skill set for any fantasy player.than again, Every perception is in the eyes of the beholder...I guess this makes sense for the past couple years. "In the 2004 season, Dillon proved himself to be a mature and dedicated team player, putting to rest the negative reputation he acquired before arriving in New England. He set career highs and franchise records with 1,635 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He was a major factor in the Patriots win over the Indianapolis Colts in New England's first playoff game, rushing for 144 yards and catching 5 passes for 17 yards. He remained a major contributor to the team, rushing for 733 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. He finished the year with 812 rushing yards and a career high 13 touchdowns; the latter tied him for third in the league that season."
Not like my team is any good, but he's got the 3rd most projected pts on my team this weekWTFon yahoo's project pts for this weekend he is projected to get more pts than Beanie and Blount?

MIA 2007-present.
In the same boat. Starting him as my flex. He'll get a some carries, but it could be minimal points. I'm not getting my hopes up for a huge game. With Woodhead probably out though I assume he'll get a few more carries, so I think his floor is a little higher than I was initially thinking.I'm starting Ridley due to bye weeks and injuries. I think expectations need to be tempered a bit. He could easily put up 40-50 yards or less and no TDs this week.
I was looking at their rankings earlier, and it looked like all of the guys had him around RB30. Yahoo is projecting him for 11+ pts, so take away what you want.ESPN projects him to get like 3 or 4 points this week... wtf?
Well, he basically did that last week with 10 carries.Half this thread is nuts... Expecting like Ridley to rip 100 yards/1TD and acting like his is a savior. As much as I would love that to happen, it probably won't. I want Ridley to be a stud RB but the way the Patriots offense runs is not the most desirable. If Ridley gets 70+ yards and a TD this week, I would advise owners to sell high because the Pats offense is so unpredictable. There will be little consistency in the RB in a Bill O'Brien/BB run offense this year.
IMO Terpman22, there won't be a debate if Ridley produces your projections. I would like to mention...First off, Bill Belichick wants a 'W'. I'm pretty sure he would also like to put up 50+ points against Rex Ryan. That being said, since Ryan proclaims the Jets are going back to the 'Ground & Pound'...I'm wondering if BB will try to go out of his way to out 'RUSH' the Jets this week to further embarrass the Jets with there own game plan?I think he goes over 100 total yards, but gets multiple TD's to further the debate next week.
The thing is this is just as likely to happen as any other scenario.I like the confidence a lot of people have in Ridley but again, I think expectations need to be reigned in quite a bit. It would be GREAT if my fellow Terpman's prediction comes true but I'm a little more on the pessimistic side on this one. Please let me be wrong.....I own Ridley and I am starting him over Starks. I expect an over confident Ridley to get completely shutdown and fumble against the hated Jets ... putting him in BBs doghouse Vereen filling in for the injured Woodhead will look awesome in the 3rd down back role further complicating the RB situation in NE.
seems to me that the success of Welker (brady & receivers) is a valid reason that the RBs would have little fant value.--- that said, I have Ridley on the bench but could easily see him going off this week.Welker is a pretty solid fantasy play.Do you think there's something inherently different about the rb position that keeps them on the bench if they're more talented than the other guy, and would be helping the team win if they were on the field?
I don't understand the Vareen love. Did you guys take him in dynasty instead of Ridley? He seems like the more talented back on paper but maybe not in the NFL. Ridley's sample size is small but he has produced. They trust him pass protection. Vareen may get a chance but do you really think he is going to produce a 10 carry 97 yd rushing performance and leap frog Ridley? No one but BB knows what he is thinking but he doesn't care what your draft position was. He plays you if you produce. Ridley is on the cusp of gaining his trust and becoming a bigger part of the game plan. Only time will tell who is right but I think it will be Ridley. A good game against the hated Jets will cement him in the lineup barring injury or a case of fumblitis. Though why anyone suggests that this is anymore likely for Ridley than Vareen is beyond me. What happens to all the Vareen talk if he comes out and drops a pass or 2 and fumbles? Ah well, things will be clearer for everyone after today I think. The thing is this is just as likely to happen as any other scenario.I like the confidence a lot of people have in Ridley but again, I think expectations need to be reigned in quite a bit. NO. I have Ridley in my redraft league and dropped Vereen earlier this year. But that's beside the point. Some people are capable of having objective observations whether or not they own certain players or not. Nothing in my post or the other post quoted with mine suggests Vereen love.I don't understand the Vareen love. Did you guys take him in dynasty instead of Ridley? From RotoworldWhat's the status for NE's RB's today? Is Ridley going to get 10 carries today - what about Woodhead and the GJE?
Thanks, good information....NY could keep Ridley down today but it sounds like he'll have the opportunity to make some plays, that's all I can ask..From RotoworldWhat's the status for NE's RB's today? Is Ridley going to get 10 carries today - what about Woodhead and the GJE?anny WoodheadThe Boston Globe confirms that Danny Woodhead (doubtful, ankle) is "unlikely to play Sunday," after missing a third straight practice Friday.Woodhead's exit from last week's game led directly to more playing time for Stevan Ridley, who's shaping up as a quality flex start against an uncharacteristically soft Jets run defense. The extent of Woodhead's injury is unknown, but we suspect he would've gotten in at least some practice this week if it were a simple sprain. Look for BenJarvus Green-Ellis to start against New York, but Ridley to get a similar amount of touches and more yards. Oct 7 - 2:51 PMSource: Boston Globe
BYE is particularly tough against the run...lol yeah, cuz the jets, giants , and pittsburgh are all so hard to run on.
I do that too. Unfortunately I have enough dead weight on my roster that I have about 6 dark horses now... If Vereen is available, he's a decent shot..I just snagged Vereen off my waivers in dynasty. Because just when you think you know, you have no idea. Call it a shot in the dark. I like to reserve a my last roster spot for dark horses.
This. half my team is on a bye this week, so he's in the line up as RB2. w/ SJax having been hurt i've been scrambling for someone I can use as a fill in and an occasional flex play...I think Ridley could be a very nice option in that role.I think he's definitely a guy you want to be holding... but between injuries and byes. He's now in my lineup....
BJGE looks good early, bad for Ridley![]()
