Just finished latest White Lotus episode. I don't have a brother, but that got dark. Ha ha
I think what this is leading to is
Lochlan never took the drug — earlier in E5 we saw that he knows how to do sleight-of-hand — which means he was not knocked out and did what he did deliberately. Saxon will flip out when he learns this. Lochlan will be revealed as even more of a predator than Saxon is.
I have seen this floated as well, but how does one explain Lochlan's reaction to his remembering the situation while meditating?

He was blackout drunk

This White Lotus has the potential to be the darkest season yet.

There is SO much tension being built up with every single character.

My only predictions are that I still think a monkey gets a hold of the gun and those are the shots we hear, and I also think Saxon is going to die from a smoothie. They keep showing that damn blender and I haven't forgotten how they pointed out the poison fruit in episode 1.

Good possible observation about the blender. I think it's the horrible security guard guy that shoots someone. When he went out to the range the way his boss asked him if he had it in him to actually shoot someone stuck with me.

We've been watching The Residence... White House Clue-style whodunnit comedy. Great cast, ok premise, ok writing, decently funny... Worried it's starting to drift a bit now that we're 4 or is in.

Yep. He seems like the proverbial "nice guy always finishing last" and he's about to lose it on everybody - especially if his crush cancels on him or hooks up with some rich ******* guest or something.

Did I already say Chekhovs Monkey after episode 1? Agree I think that’s where it’s going but who knows

i loved longmeyer even thought it was a soap opera but i love anything central rockies and now i am watching pickett which is sort of the same schtick if you liked longmeier you might like it take that to the bank bromigos
We liked Pickett

After I think 5 ep I’m not sure about Longmire

I think I just watched the biggest group of loosers ever assembled on a reality/ game show ever. I mean they were the epidimy of stupid. I watched season 2 of Aussie version of The Traitors mainly because Luke was a contestant. Man they were all just plain idgits except for Luke.

Annabelle was good too. But, yeah.

At least once a week on the Traitors subreddit, someone starts a thread saying “I just watched Australia 2 and I can’t believe how dumb these people are.”

The Electric State was really bad. Don’t waste your time.
Eh. I was mildly entertained.
I didn't mind it, even though I'd never recommend it either.

My real issue was with the lead robot- awful/painful and singlehandedly took this from a caveat emptor yeah-sure to a not going to recommend.
I didn’t feel like the jokes landed like they do in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Also, some of the robots were hard to understand. Add in the fact that two very well paid actors (Pratt and Brown) really didn’t act all that great and it ended up just as a subpar movie.

Want to add the I loved The Grey Man by the Russo brothers so I had high hopes for this one.

I have no problem with this assessment. "Mildly entertained" was the best review I could give.

Same.

Except when brother robot said or did anything. Then I was mildly annoyed.

This is nowhere near the same level as Guardians, which I got tired of by the 2nd, but still far superior to this.

First episode of the studio is great. Bryan Cranston rules.

But it's an hour of Seth Rogan at a time, right?
The Studio makes me think there’s a great show to be made about the subject matter if they make it without Seth Rogan.

I thought the first episode was promising, but oooooooooooooofah that second episode with Rogan on set was damn near unwatchable. That scene was so over the top cartoonish it would have made Robin Williams embarrassed.

Everything is better without Seth Rogen. :yucky:

Just finished both seasons of Severance.

I thought the first season and the first several episodes of the second season were pretty good with lots of potential. Then it seemed to bog down and go nowhere until the last episode, which was dramatic but featured a surprise ending not supported by the narrative up til that point.

It's pretty clear they started stringing out the story to leave enough for future season(s). I mean, a whole episode of Harmony going to some drug-ridden cold coastal town? Just there to stretch things. The end, with him running back to Hellie, made no sense except to set up something in a future episode (which would happen to be in a future season, duh).

Favorite character was Devon.

I thought Mark's taped conversations made it clear that he was 2 totally different personalities inside and outside the Lumon barrier. So there was nothing inconsistent about his inside version wanting something his outside version wouldn't have done.

Bad Sisters (Apple)
Season 1 is 10 Episodes (100% on Rotten Tomatoes)
Season 2 is 8 Episodes (76% on Rotten Tomatoes)
This sow is GREAT!!! It's a dark comedy about 5 sisters, four of which conspire to murder the 5th sisters' husband.
I saw a handful of older posts on here that didn't seem to get much attention.
Season one is worth every second of your time! It's so great! After viewing, I checked to see what kind of awards it had won and I was surprised to see it's limited award success.
The guy that plays the husband (Claes Bang); Affectionately referred to as "The Prick" should have won the best actor award in every single possible award available to him.
You as a viewer literally want to murder him almost immediately!
All Irish cast, filmed almost entirely in Ireland, however the accents are never so thick you can't understand what is being said.
Lots of laughs, lots of drama. So so good!

It's true Season 2 isn't as good as S1, but it's still great quality and worth watching.

I could not recommend this show more highly. Loved it!

Agreed. I see him on the screen in anything and immediately change the channel.

Started White Lotus 3 last night and I'm not sure what the criticisms are here, I LOVE it. I got through the first two episodes last night and was about to start a 3rd but it was close the midnight and that's too late for me these days. :bag:

But now I cannot wait to put the kids to bed and turn this one. It's got a hedge fund manager going through financial Armageddon, it's got wine-swilling women who fit a certain age demographic I find very alluring, it's got home-erotic tension, it's got a hooooooooor, it has cute English gal with wretched teeth. And I think that Goggins guy is up to something!
Finally started it a couple days ago.

This show is utterly fantastic. There's just so much to love about it.

This might be my favorite season yet.

The Residence on Netflix is enjoyable if you like quirky detectives who can solve peculiar crimes committed amongst an ensemble of characters in a prestige locale. This one is a murder mystery at the White House committed during a State Dinner for Australian delegates . Bunch of fun and known actors and a nice extended cameo by Kylie Minogue. I'm not familiar with the lead actor, Uzo Aduba, but I can see her parlaying this role into a good career. She is likable, astute, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. Recommend for some binge watching.

Watched 1st episode of Mobland and I'm not so sure. Brosnan seems to be over acting like he tends to do.
Much like Peaky, some of the dialogue is tough to understand.

It certainly wasn't bad, but it didn't grab me like I was expecting it to either.

She was a lead in Orange is the New Black... Which I never saw, but know about because I like what the actress is doing here.

Yeah... It's fun.

Loved season 1 - as you said, “The Prick” was an awesome villain (Joffrey / Ramsey Bolton level bad).

Season 2 has missed the mark a bit for me but it’s still pretty good and my wife still really likes it.

Gotta lot of different shows going on right now so I'm gonna wait on this for now. Pierce Brosnan was my biggest casting concern. At first glance does he sit well with me as a mob boss? Uh, not really, but the Hardy casting and the fact its about the mob I'm in for sure.

The Pitt has some phenomenal acting by the medical crew, but I'm also digging the outstanding acting from all the ER patients.
I can't imagine losing a child, or even acting like I have lost a child.

Agreed. A lot of setup so I'll give them that and hold off being critical but it wasn't an especially promising start.

Yeah, I'm loving it too. I've liked them all and this one has me hooked. Only one episode left, though, and I'm kinda sad about it.

Finished Adolescence this weekend. What an odd show, didn't really grab me but it's 4 episodes so not a huge investment. Feel like if you watch the first episode, you kinda have to watch the next three.

Started this a couple nights ago. Not sure I'm going to continue. Super intense, but not quite my style. Any payoffs for hanging in, or is what I've seen what I'll get?

So here's what I did, I was kinda the same and even fast forwarded through some of episode 4 (if you make it that far you'll know when). Was kinda meh, after that so read an show synopsis online after and it made a little more sense. It wasn't my cup of tea either but there is a bit of a payoff at the end.

It's almost like they wrote this for Chris Farley, and then someone told them Farley was dead.

Really well acted and a tough subject matter. Honestly, episode 1 is the best (IMO) and the other 3 you get more of the same. It's not a huge time investment - my wife didn't end up liking it for whatever reason but still watched.

Acting is definitely top notch and I'm a sucker for a good single take shot. I was definitely engaged, but the subject matter is tough and I'm the farthest from squeamish you're gonna get, but the way they cover everything in the first episode had me squirming in my chair. Stuff like that with kids is hard to see. I'm also watching with my wife, so if she's still into it I'll keep going
