I like the idea of breaking down cash spent by position and seeing what others are up to as well so here's my team breakdown:QBs - $19RBs - $83WRs - $82TEs - $4Ks - $6DEFs - $6And I DO have Ricky!!!Way too much spent on backs. Spread some of that to your wideouts and QBs. You don't need Ricky Williams.....hint hint.

You enter the high, low, and average score before the contest. This will only come into play in weeks 11-16.Assume you and your opponent tie in week 12.The High score of all the NFL games that week was the Chargers at 57 points. Whoever guessed closest to this number would advance. If both were equal distant away, then we would go to tiebreaker #2, etc. Tiebreaker #2 is the lowest score of a team. Tiebreaker 3 is the average of all the NFL teams that played that week.You don't choose teams, etc. these are simply numbers.

I've put together what I think is a very solid team with the following breakdowns:QB $19RB $45WR $113TE $6PK $6DE $11I'm sure I'll tweak this a few times between now and 9/1, but I doubt the ratios will change much.

I have one suggestion for the contest page... How about adding a button and label that will calculate amd show your current total before submitting.. makes it a little easier to see where you are at a given time.It will also help in that currently, if you are under 200, you never get to see exactly what your total is when you hit Submit, because it only shows the total for an invalid lineup.

David,This might seem like a silly question, but it could have a potential impact on drafting strategy for the contest.
Can you please give periodic updates on the total number of contestants entered, as we approach the Sept. 1st deadline?

Because we have a policy not to state the number of subscribers, we will not release total contest entries (since that number will likely be very similar). I can tell you that we had about 5,500 entries in our end of year contest last year though.

another thing to report on would maybe be who the most popular players are. of the XXXXX teams this player was picked on XX% of the teams. just to see who the steals or supposed steals are.

Joe or David,Can you post a thread for the ineligibles (residents of states who can play but can't collect prizes). I have participated in other football contests that are very similiar to this and find it hard to believe I can't collect my winnings? Since I have in that past.Being from Florida, I'm sure your attorney can give us the Florida Statute that prohibits residents from collecting on winnings. Games of skill are exempt I believe and if it's because of the one time line up submission then maybe there is another way to get around that, like a mid-season lineup or go with a bench format.This is like non-alcholic beer or decaff coffee, what's the point if I can't collect my money? I think it's a great idea and I mean no disrespect, it's just when a non U.S resident can win the contest something doesn't seem right.

$200 on the nose for me...here's the breakdown: QB: $24RB: $99WR: $60TE: $7PK: $5DEF: $5It took me a while to get it that low and I may tweak the roster a bit before 9/1, but it's pretty solid.

The rules state "Each participant will be able to choose any player from the pulldown lists as long as the team is below the cap value of $200 " Do you have to be below $200 or can you have a team with $200 exactly?

Week 10 trim to 64 teams (Teams seeded by highest points based on performance in weeks 1-10)It doesn't matter about week 10 byes. As you can see above your team needs to perform well in a lot of weeks to make it past week 10. Just squeeking by each week won't help. Now that I think about it there may be some logic to choosing guys that have week 10 byes. Each week from 1-9 you need to be higher than the cut off limit. So bye week players hurt your odds of getting a score high enough to advance. In week 10 the only way to advance is to have had good totals for all 10 weeks. So if you have had really good scores up to week 9 then a lot of players on byes in week 10 shouldn't hurt your chances of advancing. Unless of course you are on the bubble going into week 10, ie. out of 250 teams left you are ranked anywhere from 55th to 75th. In that case having a bad week 10 will prevent you from remaining in the top 64 or from moving up into the top 64. Does this make sense or am I misunderstaning the rules?

The way I understand it you bettter be in the top 64 of the week 10 scores otherwise you are out. After they have the top 64 they will rank them according to the weeks 1-10 point totals. Let's not forget this is survivor, you have to be as high as the cutoff each of the weeks.

so it is not a running total to cut through the weeks???? the scores are based on a week to week basis then correct????so if i have the highest score of anybody through the first 9 weeks that means nothing compared to week 10... so i could be leading by 100 points and and be #1 but if i score in the 65th position in week 10 i am out????i have this right... right????

Yep, that's survivor format!Great idea on the overall format, mixing survivor and HTH at the end. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Hopefully for those spending $71 on LT, he doesn't have a low scoring week... As for some of the $11 DT comments... I'm not so sure low balling defense will gain you much, especially if you guess wrong and your D's score only 4-5 points in a week... Some of the top defenses each week were scoring almost 20+ points in a week. For only a few bucks more, that dozen or so points might be the difference in staying or leaving the island... Hopefully everyone keeps looking at "maxing out" too... Just because a guy is worth more, he might not do as well as a buck or two cheaper guy...

The correct interpretation is week 10 scores are used to trim from 250 to 64. Then once at 64, teams will be seeded for the bracket the rest of the way. Bye weeks hurt regardless of when you take them, but they may be less painful earlier as there are more teams competing.

The list is final. It does not include every player. We thought this was a good cross-section of people to make for a fair contest.So, are the guys that aren't listed, like Adrian Peterson, definitely out for good? Any chance they will be added?

Dude, chill out. I think it's freakin' hilarious that people are ridiculing others as to how they set up their team. Your D/ST thing I couldn't agree more on. I'm not new to the game, but calling out others is just pretty funny to me. But if the guy thinks TB is worth it or whatever combo he may have, who cares? And reread my post. I can't say for sure, but I am assuming your state prohibits the winning of cash or other prizes from contests for some strange reason or another. Many states have such rules as they see these activities as mild forms of lottery or gambling. I am sure an attorney on here knows more about this than I do, but I am sure it's something along those lines.I still havent gotten an answer as to why some residents of states cant win. Can someone help me out here?
