CUTOFF ???

My WRs carried me BIG TIME this week. Alive for another week!

Some highly owned WRs probably hurt alot of people.

Troy Williamson 42.2% = 3.1

T.J. Houshmandzadeh 34.4% = 0 (bye)

Braylon Edwards 31.8% = 5.7

Doug Gabriel 28.4% = 2.7

Michael Clayton 27.6% = 1.7

Roy Williams 23.1% = 1.7

Antonio Bryant 23.6% = 5.7

Nate Burleson 19.3 = 0 (bye)
Ouch having five of these guys....my other two helped....Reggie Wayne

Reggie Brown

It might only matter for a few people, but I think people are miscalculating Michael Clayton's points this week. He had a run for 27 yards, so I would expect his value to be 4.4 this week.

Brett Favre = 15.0

Frank Gore = 20.2

DeShaun Foster = 14.8

Lee Evans = 24.4

Greg Jennings = 21.5

Ronald Curry = 13.4

Kellen Winslow Jr = 13.5

Sebastian Janikowski = 8.0

Minnesota Vikings = 25.0

Total = 155.8 :D

135.8 + (Parker -19.6)
I don't understand this Player - existing score. Shouldn't it be Max(Parker,19.6)? I mean... if Parker scores 10 pts, you're not getting -9.6 :)
Is it really that complicated to figure out?
I'm not saying I can't figure out - I'm saying it's wrong to write it that way, and I don't understand why everyone does. I think if you write it that way, it should be scored that way :) :)
It seems to make sense to most people. You have to take the 19.6 points into account somehow because those points don't count if Parker produces more. Everyone understands it is conditional on Parker scoring more than 19.6. I suppose to be technically correct they could go through the process of saying my score is:the greater of 135.8 or 135.8+Parker-19.6.But I think most of us understand how the scoring works.
ARRRGGGHHH!!!I was just trying to post a score in a brief, uncluttered way that everybody who was browsing scores could get through in about a second. My assumption was that any slight semantical inaccuracy would be overlooked and the informationunderstood by the knowledgeable denizens of this board. I had no idea my little post would still be the subject of conversation the next morning.

114 or so.

Only one player scored more than 20 points on my team, and well, they were actually not a player, but the Minnesota defense. They may have saved me.

PS. Troy Williamson...ummm, can you please catch a few balls sometime this year? I own you in every league I am in. Thanks

Prelim of 153.2 with Tatum Bell going and possibly bumping it a bit higher. GB the Minnesota DEF picking up the slack while Cincinnati's on bye.

ETA: I thought that if I would ever need to use Leinart, I was probably done in that week. How strange that he put up better numbers than Peyton Manning did against the Titans.

It wasn't you - everyone does it. I was simply point out that it was a faulty way to display the information. I guess I should have known better, because I know how the "knowledgeable denizens" of the Shark Pool react to any hint of criticism - "I'm not wrong, you're just stupid".

Whoa, nearly two hours with no sign of him. I can just about picture him hunched over a table, pencil and paper in hand, pencil worn down to about an inch long from scribbling away to work out the solution, a pile of wadded up paper behind him. I almost felt sorry for him and started to post the solution.....Almost.... ;) :D
Uh, no, sorry, I just don't "hang out" in threads all day to respond to your incorrect criticism. Sorry, I wasn't clear with my original post - I meant to say "I don't understand why you guys insist on using 'Player-existing score' syntax, because it's wrong." I know what you're TRYING to say, it's just WRONG. It was just a snide comment because I was drinking and lamenting my Jets' ###-kicking. In reality, I don't care enough to argue with you about it.

Last week's MNF score was 31-9. It's reasonable to expect tonight's to be lower.Comparison of ownership from last MNF to tonight...

QB:

McNabb 6% (39.1 pts) and Favre 8.6% (8.3)

McNair 9.1% and Plummer 4.3%

RB:

Morency 15.1% (17.8)

Lewis 4.4% and T Bell 3.6%

D:

PHI 6.8% (6) and GB 5.1% (8)

math mistake - sitting on 108.8

:crosses fingers:

Delhomme: 12.4

FWP: 17.3

Gore 20.2

Wayne: 11.4

B. Johnson: 14.2

Stokley 10.7

Troupe 7.3

Arizona Defense 7

After reading all these posts, it seems apparent that it will come down to the team that has the best defense and best TE2.

Nice info. Looks like odds are the cut-off will rise less than last week.

With Rivers, Curry (my leading WR :bag: ), and Feely each contributing for the first time, I'm down to Chris Brown and Michael Clayton as the lone unused players. Unfortunately I don't see either of them breaking through anytime soon. $16 down the drain...

Yup, nice analysis. I had a feeling there were much smaller percentage owned players going tonight than last week, but I was too lazy to do the leg work. This bodes very well.

128.3, but I will be out next week.

I have no QB (Manning is on bye and Simms is out)

RBs: They are all playing (Rudi, Gore, Bush)

WRs: Three of them on byes (Williamson, Wayne Jennings), so that leaves me with Chambers and Housh. Way to look at schedules

TE: No Watson, so relying on Courtney Anderson.

K: Janikowski

D: Bengals

It was good while it lasted.

Just curious who all the Peyton Manning owners have at QB for week six. I have him paired with Vick and Schaub.

I'll be lucky to survive next week with only Housh, Toomer and Glenn as my WRs. Poor bye week planning with Wayne, Jennings, Gabriel and Williamson all out.

Dude, with no Fitzgerald, I have Ronald Curry as my #3 WR. So count yourself lucky.

I have Manning with Simms and Leinart. Thank goodness Warner got the boot this last week otherwise I'd be toast too!
Note that Leinart faces the Bears next week. Presumably it will be better than the 0 you'd get otherwise, and not to be mean, but I wouldn't exactly start dancing in circles about this bye week coverage.

Week 6 & 7 are going to get REALLY interesting.

With six NFL teams on BYE each of those weeks, there are going to be a whole slew of teams with very limited choices.

Week 6 for me:

QB - All in play (Palmer, Plummer, Rivers)

RB - RB3 & RB5 on bye (F. Taylor, Morency) Morency was a week 5 with HOU - :bag: Definitely need RB1 & 2 to come through (SJax & RBrown)

WR - Jennings and Braylon on BYE - who woulda thunk this $4 Wr combo would be playing such a big part in the BYE week - They've counted in my scores 7 of 10 possible times.

New England on BYE shorts me 1 TE, 1 PK, & 1 DEF... REALLY need help from the other players... are you listening Scheffler, Akers & Dolhpins DEF?

If I can squeak past the cutoff in week 6, I've only got 4 players with BYE's to go...

I am counting on Pennington next week.

i have Rivers and Simms.... Hopefully Rivers can do well against SF

Rivers and Smith. Rivers against SF should be good for some points.WR is a much bigger problem - Roy hurt, Williamson and Edwards on bye, Clayton just stinks...

Philip Rivers 21.5

Frank Gore 17.2

Willie Parker 14.3

Greg Jennings 16.5

Reggie Wayne 12.2

Ernest Wilford 4.0

Ben Watson 3.3

Jason Hanson 5.0

Matt Stover Monday Night

New England Patriots 7

Looks like 101 unless Stover can pick me up more points.

This week there were ~1170 P. Manning owners. For the rest of us without Peyton, here's a comforting thought...

The QBs out for Week 6 & the number of rosters they appeared on in Week 5

Simms ........ 2220

Warner ........ 1430

Culpepper .... 950 :confirmed: On the bench for Wk6 Harrington to start Week 6

Favre ......... 600

B. Johnson ... 470

Leftwich ....... 385

Green .......... 290

Brooks ........ 170

Frye ............ 140

Brady .......... 120

I think Leinart should have 20+ attempts in the second half garbage time. I fully expect decent numbers, 200/1 at a minimum.
