I am also a Gore owner and it does affect me. I am glad I also have MJD, Tolbert, Foster, Bradshaw and Spiller to balance the loss though which provides me some hope. Negative is I don't have a kicker since Reed was cut and Hanson is injured. If I am lucky enough to make the next cut that will be a big negative towards total points.

There are 17 teams still alive that have fewer than 30 players and spent less than the full $250 (16 of them spent $249 and one spent $248). Only one of them has Tolbert. :blackdot:

ETA: Not surprisingly, these (non-thoughtful? poorly constructed?) teams (<30 players, <$250 spent, no Tolbert) are surviving at a 2.7% rate, less than the 3.9% rate for the rest of the teams.

$124 on RBs - half of your budget. Gutsy. But it's worked out so far. :popcorn:

I only have 18 players and i feel my team was very well constructed. My thought was go for quality rather than quantity and hope for no injuries which I have been fortunate so far. All fantasy teams need some luck to advance....whether it be injuries or lack thereof. Even if you go for the throw as much ##### and see what sticks thought process, you still need some luck as far as injuries to those ahead of them on the depth chart, opportunity, etc.

Your team may be well constructed. However, what Iggy is saying is that any team with less than 30 players AND who hasn't spent all their money didn't maximize their chances--especially if they didn't use the spare $1 to add Tolbert. Even if you didn't think Tolbert would see the field (I didn't), why would you let the $1 go to waste?

Your team may be well constructed. Assuming a post Thurs. night game sim is done, it should be quite interesting, given that Foster's numbers will be in the book by then.

 
So who were the best "bang for their buck" guys this year? This may help what type of players to target for next year.

QB: Michael Vick $3, Sam Bradford $9, Derek Anderson $6, Kyle Orton $12

RB: Mike Tolbert $1, Arian Foster $13, Brandon Jackson $4, Brian Westbrook $6 (going forward), Mewelde Moore $3 (going forward)

WR: Steve Johnson $4, Deion Branch $3, Tampa Mike $8, Jordan Shipley $4, Mark Clayton $3 (before he got hurt), Patrick Crayton $3

TE: Rob Gronkowski $3, Brandon Pettigrew $4, Aaron Hernandez $5 (at least the first half), Marcedes Lewis $6, Jermaine Gresham $6

K: Matt Bryant $2, Janikowski $2, Orlindo Mare $2, Dan Carpenter $3

Def: Browns $2, Buccaneers $2

Any others to add.....Cassell?, Thomas Jones? Holmes? Big Ben?

 
I took a quick stab at trying to figure out the best "bang for the buck" this year (basically comparing point production amongst similarly-priced players) and got the following results. Just glancing at the top of the list it looks like a lot of the expected names are there, but take it with a grain of salt - it has some significant flaws:

I imagine a fair number of us are hoping for poor Foster numbers.Any team weak at RB will be hurt by that.

At this point if you have weak RBs and are still alive, you're likely strong elsewhere, so wouldn't you want Foster to go off and neutralize the RB1 spot, giving your other strong positions a better chance to outscore the field?

That's exactly what I think. I lost Gore and I am down to Bradshaw, Foster, McGahee and T Jones. Foster going off secures my RB1 points without losing ground to the field, and I can survive with the best of Bradshaw, McGahee and T Jones as my RB2. My issue is that RB has been my flex 5 out of the 12 weeks, so it looks like my flex is coming from my TE spot for the rest of the year......Go Witten, Watson and Pettigrew!
 
It's starting to look like the Schaub / Rothlisberger combo isn't going to work out so hot the last few weeks of the contest.
