Survivor Contests - Currently Week 14 (1 Viewer)

Surprisingly two teams locked Dallas and one picked Seattle, which I get that Seattle is hot but wow.

So here is cheering for the Titans and Chargers so I wont have to post in here again.

In the event I do... I'm taking KC next week

Yeah, will probably ride KC one more week. Other options are GB vs Miami, Jets vs Buffalo and SF vs NYG. If KC were unavailable, I would probably rank it Jets/GB/SF, but none are good enough Ds to get excited about.

If your ability to make roster moves is limited and you need to pick up one team now to carry you for the next few weeks, there's always Indy (Jax/Tenn/Miami/@Jax)

ETA: Oops, this was intended for the streaming D thread. Sorry for the confusion!

WTH are you talking about?

Ah.  gotcha.  Now your post makes sense.  lol  (and I agree)
To make up for it, here are my thoughts on next week's survivor pick:

If you've already used up KC/NE/LAC, you're screwed

Seriously, NE is my only plausible option. If I make it to Week 11, things are going to start getting really tricky.

Of the three teams you listed there, I have only used KC, but I am not sure I want to use the other two this week.

Chargers break two of my guidelines.  1. They are on the road.  2.  Its a divisional game.  Raiders suck hard, but I try really hard not to pick divisional games, and definitely not the road team.

NE only breaks the rule of being on the road, but Ten is that team that I never want to pick, but I also don't want to pick against (kinda like the AFC version of the Giants).  NE should win that game going away, but Tennessee has enough of a team that I don't want to pick against them at home, even the Patriots.  (full disclosure, I am still thinking on this and it may be the way I go)  Weeks get tougher after this, and it'd be nice to have NE as an option, but that won't matter if I am out of it.

The team I am considering is Green Bay.  Yeah, they are 3-4-1 and the Dolphins are 5-4.  I never expect to pick a team with a losing record over a team with a winning record, but it fits the other requirements.  Its a non-conference game, and the Packers are at home.  Could be cold weather, which I am guessing is not good for the South Beach squad.  And looking closer at the records, the Dolphins have 5 wins, 1 on the road (NYJ) and 4 at home (Ten, Oak, Chi, NYJ).  Only team in that group I'd call a decent team is Chicago.  The 4 losses, 1 at home (Det) and 3 on the road (NE, Cin, and Hou).  All teams that are currently looking at the playoffs on the road, but the home loss to Detroit is ugly for the resume.

Green Bay has 3 wins, all at home (Chi, Buf, and SF).  They tied a good Min team in GB, and have 4 losses.  The losses are all on the road (WAS, DET, LAR, NE).  Those are some quality teams, excepting Det.

The both beat Chicago and lost to Detroit and NE.

I don't see a clear cut differentiation between the two teams, to be honest.  The Packers don't look right, but they have played some quality opponents.  Miami looks ugly on the road, and competent at best when home.

Maybe I am trying to talk myself into this, but I just think I will take Aaron Rodgers at home over a team that hasn't shown it can go on the road and play decent football.  Only other place I can see using GB is week 13 against Arizona.  NE would be used week 16 against Buffalo.  I know its presumptive to think I will still be in it then, but in the contest I am in, it will go all 17 weeks, so getting knocked out week 10 is no different than getting knocked out week 16.  There are 2-3 options I like week 13 besides GB, but really the only option I like for week 16 is NE.

Green Bay is my pick, but like every week after week 2, I'm nervous about it.

Both of the other teams in my group have picked GB already, 1 has not picked KC and the other has. That means I will likely take GB and save KC for week 13

Week 11 is really tough. I would likely go with ATL at home vs DAL. My only other option is NO vs PHI or IND vs TEN- but I don't want to pick against TEN either.

Week 12 would be NE at NYJ. I understand it's away and against a divisional opponent- especially the Jets, but NE is looking like they are getting better and better.

Week 13 would then be KC

So that would be my next 4 week outlook. I like having 4 pretty good teams to pick from

Go Titans tonight so my league can end and I don't have to worry about it.

Week 11 is definitely looking like the one I will have trouble with.  I will seriously consider picking Arizona over Oakland.  :bag:

This is on my list as well. I'm just not sure I feel better about that than a hot team like ATL over a struggling team like DAL. Depends how Dallas looks tonight

Yes. 4 teams left. I took CHI. One took SEA. Two took DAL. Winner winner ??️
Awesome!!  Nice job, good sir.

I advanced using Chicago as well.  Tennessee knocked about 2000 more out of the Fanduel contest, so we are down to 8317.

It gets really tough from here on out, but I'm sticking with Green Bay this week.

I would be with GB as well. They won't lose this game

Still alive on my large survivor pool (450 out of 8,500 left).

Thinking of going with KC. 270 have already used KC and 320 have already used Green Bay (used GB already)

Dont know if I should save KC and take a risk on Jets or Chicago.

Have already used NE, LAC, LAR

Week 11?

Is New Orleans a definite if not used yet?  Are the Eagles really that bad now?

I kind of like Arizona at home against Oakland too.

l'm saving the Saints for another day, and rolling with Arizona.  They appear to be playing with effort for new OC Byron Leftwich.
I'm right there with you.  I make my pick on Tuesdays, and it can't be changed once locked in.  This stops me from second guessing myself.

Its a free contest, so while it would be nice to be a part of the big split at the end, I'm good with taking my "risk" here.  I still have NE, NO, LAC, PIT and HOU left, so if I get through this week, I will be in a pretty good spot with good teams to pick from over the next 5 weeks.

Week 17 is always a crapshoot with teams resting starters and whatnot.

You Pittsburgh guys dodged a bullet...

For week 12, I think a lot of people will be on Dallas at home against the Skins.  Dallas is currently -8.

huge bullet

considering taking DAL, but more leaning towards IND at home against MIA

I need to pick 2 teams this week. Will probably pick Philly and either Houston or Seattle. Like Seattle better but they also have a good Week 17 matchup (houston is not bad either against Jax at home).

As of now I am going:

Week 13 - Phil, Sea, Hou

Week 14 (not a lot of good options) -  Det, Ten (other Buff/Jets, Was)

Week 15 - Minn, Atl (would like to save Atl for 17) (other Jax, Hou, Det)

Week 16 - Chi, Ten (other Den)

Week 17 - Sea, Atl (other Hou. Phi)

There are 3 games I'm liking this week ... HOU over CLE, SEA over SF, TEN over NYJ.  Looking to future weeks, I could see using SEA week 17 at home over AZ.  Wouldn't use them any other time.  Don't really see myself using HOU or TEN later.  Slight possibility of using them week 17 over JAX.  Kinda has me leaning towards using HOU this week.

GB would scare the piss outta me.  They are just not very good lately.
They're 0-6 on the road, 4-0-1 at home. I'd say they're a pretty safe pick this week, but not a slam dunk.

Crazy fact of the week: Green Bay and Cleveland have the same record at 4-6-1.

Edit: and now they're both 4-7-1

I went with Tennessee but am thinking I should have taken Seattle. If TEN loses, 4 of us will get knocked out and there will be 2 left standing.

Whew! I quit watching the Titans Jets game with 3 min left thinking I was getting bounced. No clue how they pulled out a win but I'll take it!

Prob taking Denver @ San Fran next week.
