Survivor Season 42: Starts Wednesday March 9, 2022 (2 Viewers)

For someone calling themself Wardog he sure sucks at just about everything in the game other than bossing people around. My wife spit out her coffee when he tried to throw the ball with the rope attached and it went like 2 feet. Can't wait until he is gone.
Is this guy ex-military? I hope he never had to throw a grenade. He'd have a bunch of dead platoon mates fairly quickly.

I don't think I have ever seen a dude throw like that. I am a die hard left hander. My right is not up to par. That being said, I have never seen anything more pathetic.

I don't mind the idea of extinction island but.. The producers really messed up …

You were voted out AND lost your chance to get back in the game.... you should be waving :bye:

NOT getting yet another chance.

Finally a smart group that realizes.. When you have a chance to take out a strong player, aka Joe, you take them out!

Biggest vote reveal shock was that wardog voted David... :oldunsure:

I don’t know.  It’s not like joe was going to win every immunity challenge.  They could get him in the future.  Just seems a bit early to vote out your own.  Plus, they didn’t tell the other members of Kama who voted devins.  They likely feel like they are on the outs.  The 6 have separated themselves out and basically announced it.  Granted, they are still up 6-5 over everyone else.

Is it me or am will there be way too many folks in jury?  Also does this mean no ponderosa?

my hunch is the producers will really do their darndest to get joe back in the game.

and yes joes social game is overrated.  He didn’t even try to rally votes.  He knew he was on the bottom and now that they merged there is zero reason for them to keep him around.

Can't blame the others for voting Joe but it actually might be the best thing for him.  He doesn't have to play a social game now.  Just rest up and look for advantages/idols on the extinction island.  He'll fish and keep everyone fed but he doesn't have to worry about them plotting against him at some tribal council.  If he comes back for a chance with 5 or so to go, look out in immunity challenges.

I liked the face on Aubrey when Joe was voted off.  Oh crap, now I have to compete against him to get back in the game.

I do wonder, though, how they are going to fill the jury.  Folks voted off from now on go to extinction island and come sit on the jury?  Interested to see how it plays out.

I’m a big fan of this change.  For too long, strong physical threats have been easy prey in this game, resulting in some really weak winners.  This gives them a realistic chance to get to the final vote which should make for more intriguing winners.

I get that the ideal winner is a challenge beast AND a great social player, but those seem to be rare.

Joe, for example, still has the odds stacked against him to get back.  He deserves that for having a horrific social game.  But...he’s a great survivor player in every other way that counts. I love that he now has a path to victory.

Yeah, no third chances...Don't like that at all.

I think Kelly, Lauren and Wardog voted David while David and Devins voted Kelly in hopes of swinging what they thought would be a split vote from the 6 on David/Kelly.

Will be interesting next week if they can play their idols correctly.  Aurora voted Devins with Joe, so she has to realize she is on the outs, If they can bring her in it will be 6-6.

Idols are held by Devins, Kelly and Lauren.

I still think they messed up voting Joe, he was not strategizing and was voting with them.  They had 8 votes with 2 who were in thinking it was 8.  Kelly/David/Devins was the vote.

I think your numbers are off.  I think there were 12 going into TC, so there should be 11 now.

I was wrong.  There were 13 left.  So, 12 now.  The "power" 6 and then the rest.  If the rest can band together, it will be very interesting.  That would be 3 idols in the others ... kelly, lauren, rick/david (not sure who owns the idol afterwards, but I'm guessing rick since it was his clue to begin with).

not sure he has any gear whatsoever on EI...

  Wendy and Keith for not sticking it out. I know it's easy to say from the armchair but to get that far and then get ANOTHER chance to get back in only to walk away  :loco:

Agree, I do think if there is another disadvantage hidden on the edge that he will most definitely get it(assuming he doesn't find it that is). That disadvantage really screwed Chris, cost hime the win IMO.

I figure that they both realized that the next challenge was probably a week away, they were starved, and they knew that they both stink at challenges...(even tho Wendy did almost win, historically she seems poor)

Still a wimpy move but not surprising as neither of them seemed cut out for this game

Unless the next challenge was a praying contest or a spelling bee Keith knew he had no chance. Good move throwing in the towel. The kid isn't gonna need the money anyway and he clearly isn't cut out for this

Wendy's Pet Peeves from her Bio:

"Pet peeves: I cannot stand when people don't carry their weight. I also hate quitters! Find a way to get something done! Don't just give up when the going gets tough. "

something about Joe's exit just seemed so awkward....him saying they made a big mistake and are going to pay....just seemed so empty....I'm not sure he has the type of game to fully comeback and win the thing....

I think the power 6 made a bad move. Kelly would have been much better. Joe's not winning 10 straight and unbeknownst to them it would have flushed Kelly’s idol. I just think keeping the other two original tribe mates until they had a 6-5 lead would have been smart. Dave and Devens feel a little betrayed as well so it could easily be 6-6 (no one wants to be #7 or #8 with a strong 6. If it is 6-6, the non power 6 has 3 idols.

I realize that by now there are 500 survivor players and just being on the show in no way guarantees much financially...but you gotta think that you stay on the island and get as much TV time as possible.

Ironically, the guys on extinction island have received more airplay than most of the alliance of 6

Uh... yeah... Joe... the big mistake was you sitting on your ### painting all day while everyone else was playing the game.

im glad he has another shot but he needs to improve his social/outwit game drastically.  He is in Ozzy territory as someone you can invite back as many times as you wish and they will not win.

From what I understand (although I don't know if anyone was told prior to the most recent tribal council) all of the people on Extinction island at this point will be on the jury. So that means a jury of 13 as it stands now unless others raise the white flag to quit the game.

I don't think it is a given that EVERY week the ones that don't win the "Extinction Island back in the game challenge" will still get to stay in the game and go back to the island....

at some point it might be....this is the last chance....if you don't win and get back in.....you don't go back to the island/jury....you go home

While it's easy to rag on Joe based on the edit he got last night, let's not forget that even with the best social game in the world, there is still very little chance that anyone is going to want to really work with Joe to take him to the end because of his strength in challenges and the fact that he is a very likable guy. I think Joe is smart enough to know this, and was probably very frustrated by this. I think he knew his Kama tribe was just stroking his ego and had no intention of really working with him. Now the numbers were such that there were 7 others left who were not part of the Kama 6, so I would have liked to see him try and rally everyone else to start picking off the Kama 6. But I do understand why he would have felt there was no point in campaigning because no one (probably since his first season on the show) has really wanted to work with him.

i can't stand returning players.  get rid of them all.  and stop putting them in the game.
I don't disagree with this. I would say either all new players or all returning players. Everyone is on an equal playing field

This is exactly what I said to my wife last night. Joe getting the boot was a gift in disguise for him. He doesn't have to worry about his social game now. Just focus on the challenge that will come and get back in the game when most of rest have been weeded out and weakened.

My wife was initially sad to see him get voted off and then elated to see him back in.  I think Lauren is gorgeous, but I have to keep those thoughts to myself because she looks just like a taller version of one of my wife's FB friends. Every time she appears on the screen my wife points this out--so me saying yeah, she is hot would really open up a can of worms at my house.

Not a Wendy fan at all, after her chicken nonsense, but riding out with Keith so he didn't have to quit on his own seems totally in character for her - if that did play into it, just a thought I had

Speaking of chickens, three competent adults should be able to catch any dumb ### chicken anywhere in the world

My guess, based on zero information and only from having watched past seasons, is that the current crop of exiles/extinctions/jury members will get to compete for one to re-enter at final five
This. The Extinction islanders don't get to compete to come back every week. They just get one more chance to come back into the game, at the final five.
