Reece will play his regular role in the offense while Jones plays the McFadden role. Whether Jones gets 2 or 20 carries will not be determined by Reece but by Oakland's efficiency in the running game and their ability to keep this game close...which I don't think is likely'duaneok66 said:Reece is the play here.
I think the bigger question are will McFadden and Goodson both be out another week and will jones be effective enough this week to warrant playing time next week? Next weeks matchup.......new Orleans.
Last we heard Goodson was in walking boot, no? Would expect him (if that's the case) to be shut down for a few weeks ... DMac? Reports are he wanted back in the T.B. game ... seemingly the less severe of the two.As a DMac/Goodson owner; I cut bait with Goodson, and scooped both Reece and Jones ... leaning towards Reece today (PPR), and hoping TJ shows something to warrant the leap of faith for the juicy Saints matchup ... who knows ... maybe they both warrant a start next week if things remain the same ...Worst case scenario? DMac is the dreaded GTD next week, is declared active ... then exits during the game

Just excited to see what happens with him today.. this is what FF is all aboutThe Ravens are down a few defenders, wouldn't surprise me if TJ ends up breaking off a good chunk once or twice, maybe bottled up the other 8-10 carries. I don't see Oakland giving him the ball 20 times.

+3Another DMAC/ Goodson owner who cut bait with Goodson and climbed aboard the T. Jones train. Choo Choooo!
Leshoure....for sure.Jones or Leshoure?
Twice in two years now.It was Week 9 last season, first game McFadden missed. Jones was getting first-team reps and was a red-hot Waiver Wire add that week. He ended up with two carries for one yard. Bush dominated the touches. But leading up to that game there was a ton of hype for Jones. Flamed out rather badly. Again, different coaching staff and different situations (Bush is more of a prototypical RB than Reece). But it's not like we haven't been down this road in some fashion with Jones before.
Shouldn't be too difficult to do if he's not on the field or holding the footballFollowing Sunday's loss to the Ravens, coach Dennis Allen admitted that he doesn't trust Taiwan Jones.
Jones played behind both Marcel Reece and Jeremy Stewart Sunday. "We have to know when he goes into the game, he's going to know what to do and he's going to protect the football and he's got to be able to stay healthy ...

Not all coaches know what they're doing'Otis said:Clearly the Raiders coaching staff knows what they're doing, fellas.
but there were tons of warning signs here including the fact he was a third-string RB, he barely got on the field against the Bucs even though both RBs ahead of him on the depth chart got hurt, the Raiders haven't run the ball well all season with a far more talented RB, they've become a pass-first team, they were likely going to be trailing against the Ravens (meaning they would be throwing a lot) and we saw the same thing with Jones last season when another coaching staff was trying to get him ready to play an expanded role. I'm all for swinging for the fences in fantasy, especially if your team is going nowhere and you might as well go for broke, but it wasn't difficult to see Reece being the guy this week and it was real easy to see Jones coming up small.

This is usually the last stop before being cut.But didn't we have fun?

I agree and it seems they never really gave him much of a chance to see what he could do on the field, That could have been due to what they saw at practice, but it was pretty obvious as the season progressed that the coaching staff had no confidence in him as a runner. Probably the results would have been the same if another team had taken him, but we will never know.I would enjoy a good laugh on this one had I not believed he might be one of those different kind of guys with value. I blame the Raiders. A team like the Saints or Patriots, etc could have found a way to use him. His speed is rediculous. If only some team with a need for a lightning fast scat back would have taken him. Even in Detroit, he may have been an interesting fantasy story.
But...what should I expect from the most maligned franchise in the league that could do no better than take what DMAC excelled at and then completely scrap it.

Looks like Jones made the team as a backup cornerback. But didn't we have fun?

Don't read too much into this. We also kept 4 QBs and two punters.Looks like Jones made the team as a backup cornerback.
I think he made the team as a special teams player....they had to call him something and clearly it was not a rb....so now he is a "cb"Looks like Jones made the team as a backup cornerback. And yes we did have some funBut didn't we have fun?

Most livid memories of Taiwan were last preseason. Watching him try to run up the middle. He'd get jacked and fly backwards 5 yards in the air. His pass blocks attempts were comical. Taiwan tries to cut every run back (like something that'd work vs. the inferior competition he faced in college).
The run was on a fake punt.sooooo, the raiders are likely without dmc and reece. they threw him in the last game and went 1/19. this hype train was derailed. but wasnt it fun? wonder if raiders pick up a veteran or roll with what they got
LOL.Mods, please move this thread to the IDP forum. Thanks.

Thank you! Please look beyond the box scores. Meaning that 1/19 was so meaningless and misleading, it might as well have been a cornerback that made the run...not that you were saying it meant anything.:whoosh:Thank you!
