Tampa Bay Bucs thread: back to back to back to back NFC South Champs (3 Viewers)

I luv your thread. especially when DJax gets on the phone to the general manager and gives inside information back to the board. lolololol.

that's my angle.
Oh yeah, its an angle I cannot see then b/c I have him blocked. No one has time to read that.

Good luck buddy. I am glad you like our thread though, it seems to be very popular here!

Never bet against playoff Tom Brady is still a tried and true rule, at least against the Eagles.
Side note-

Bro, first time I’ve ever seen that avatar, but bravo😂.

Man I considered blocking him and his self proclaimed bat phone to every owner of every sports team, but dude.... it’s so hard to not slow down and gawk at the car wreck that ends with two fat, drunk guys swinging on each other in the bar ditch. Some things are worth the comic relief.

Is that every quote in the

Eagles

thread? lol.
There’s multiple people in there predicting a win. I’m sure you saw them when you were cherry-picking the quotes above.
There's like 2 people who said "i think we can win'".

Saying "Eagles fans here are EXTREMELY CONFIDENT" has got to be the most tone-deaf and obtuse take I've seen on these boards.

I don’t have a problem with Eagles fans predicting a win or being confident. Who cares? I just thought it was surprising.

LOL this guy hops into our thread with some lame trash talk literally out of nowhere with zero context, paraphrasing:  "Funny fact Tampa has more titles in 18 months than Philly history" or some stuff now he's taking our quotes and making it look like we think we are gonna roll over you guys. I dunno, I think the game will be closer than our first meeting and we have a shot? I mean, its the playoffs. I guess if you gotta do stuff like this to hype yourself up you might not be all that confident.

Good luck gang! Should be entertaining!
lol yep exactly.  About 90% of the posts in the Eagles thread are predicting a loss, or saying "I think we have a shot if everything goes right".... and this guy comes on and says he finds it surprising that Eagles fans are predicting a win and are confident.  When almost every post is contrary to us being 'confident on a win'.  Pretty silly.

Cmon Gking, you're supposed to be one of the good ones.

Yea that was a mistake lol. I didn’t talk any crap except when djackson said the Bucs will go back to the garbage can when Brady leaves, as if the Eagles have been running some prolonged dynasty over there.

I have nothing against Eagles fans. My favorite sports memory came against the Eagles. How could I be mad at them?
Uh Huh and on a cold day smiling no less and should launch that dude into the Hall of Fame!!!

If the Eagles can get their ground game rolling they will beat Tampa Bay

It's really not that hard to post, I just don't see how Hurts is going to deliver in the clutch or when they need him to make a play but I could be made a fool of, it's happened before.

Now if the Bucs supersede that by not being able to stop the run but they have this guy Vita Vea and he's good, Kelce is really good too, that's gonna be a battle all day long.

You seem to be very upset about this.

You seem to be very upset about this.
No, you're just making ridiculous claims.  Almost all Eagles fans here picked a loss, or said that we could win if everything goes right, yet you made a ridiculous comment that Eagles fans here are confident and are picking an eagles win.  Yikes man.  Good luck tomorrow, you should win.

Yeah, sorry about that. He has SOME good info I guess. Meant to be more funny than mean, but man the brother can seriously ramble on down a rabbit trail like I’ve never seen.
nah, the Djax comments were valid, but generalizing the whole Eagles thread isn't.... but I guess most of the thread is just him posting over and over.

Dallas winning would be better for the Bucs but maybe others see it different.

next best thing is Arizona knocking out Los Angeles tomorrow night on MNF, the Niners winning would mean the Bucs should want to face Kyler Murray, I think they would eat him up, also Stafford is prone to bad interception when they need him the most.

I'm torn who I would root for but the Cards don't have the dynamic WRs that the Rams possess IMHO.

Go Cards Go!

San Fran vs Green Bay

Rams vs Bucs

San Fran vs Green Bay

Card vs Bucs

Dallas at Tampa Bay

Rams/Cards at Green Bay

You all tell me which you prefer of these...

Cards best case for sure.
I don't want to jinx all this but it's possible we see a SF-TB NFCC for all the Tostitos, i know SF looks like world beaters right now but I would be OK with TB hosting an NFCC for once...since like the late 70s/early 80s Lee Roy Selmon era

Don't even want to discuss the potential opponent which it WOULD HAVE TO BE for the NFCC to take place in Tampa.

I was rooting for the Rams all year because I had Staff-Kupp and then I had most of their role players at different points, Gay as the kicker and it goes on and on

That said, FF is OVAH!

Go Murray Go!

I'll take Coach KK over McVay 3 ways to Sunday

Have to hope Wirfs can suit up.  Brady spent a lot of time on his back after that injury and both the Rams/Cards have much better pass rushers than the Eagles.

Loved to see the defense play like that.  Most complete game we've had all season.

Gonna be a tough one Sunday. Read an article today about how Brady got the ball out in like 2.1 seconds against the Eagles. Going to need that against the Rams pass rush. Limits the deep shots though, but he can obviously put together long drives.

Would think Gronk needs a big game against their safeties. Tyler and Perriman are almost total zeros after Mike. Hope Grayson can play.

Fournette status for Sunday? Out 16, 17, and Weeks 18 and then Wildcard Round, happened Week 15.

This Sunday would be almost a full 5-Weeks removed from the initial injury, where do folks think Fournette fits in for the Divisional Round? I'd like to see him in uniform as much as anyone they could get back, helps with pass blocking as well.

Hamstring as I recall, all of them are different.obviously his was quite severe.

Ke'Shawn Vaughn I like but since he popped off for the long TD, he's 35/113/2TDs, his yds per carry is on the low side, not a big receiving threat so far but he's not a small runner and I still am hopeful he can have a bigger spark in the coming weeks.

Bernard very helpful last week, glad he is back in the mix. 13/44/TD plus 5/39

Both RBs score but Fournette if he can play would make a formidable trio for Brady to have in lieu of being down 2 quality WRs.

They're gonna need a big game from their RB pass-catchers...whoever they are. Gronk as well. I don't know how Evans will succeed against Ramsey- he's the big DB that gives him problems like Lattimore and it makes sense for Ramsey to shadow full-time if he ever does do that.

Bucs DB's are playing a bit better, and the fact that this is in Tampa gives the Bucs a HUGE advantage IMO - Rams are flying after a primetime game on MNF, Bucs have like 36 hours of rest on them, plus they don't have to travel.

TB -3 or -4 makes sense, but I don't think Wirfs is playing. Walking boot on a big man is bad news.

Then again, this is Arians we're talking about lol

Fournette tweeted “I’ll see you guys on Sunday” so seems possible he is playing unless he’s just screwing around on Twitter.

One of the NFL talking head guys (they all look the same, white guy with slicked back hair) said he thinks Wirfs and Jensen both play fwiw. Seemed to be his opinion other than inside info.

Wirfs and Jensen obviously the most important guys but Grayson would add a downfield threat they don’t have.

The defense hasn’t been completely healthy all year so it was nice to see them dominate Sunday. Hope it can carry forward and they stay healthy.

Yes Gronk smash needed for the Bucs in this game. And one of the RBs needs to step up. Perriman is a wild card. He can take the top off the Rams D, but he just needs to show up.

Rams gonna give them all they want. Agree being home helps. Hate that they had a MNF playoff game. Extra day for TB. But Rams match up really well and they have beaten them already. No Godwin, Brown and a weakened run game hurts Bucs chances. Man this is going to be a great game. War

Somebody said today the difference between the MNF game and the following Sunday game is the same as the Niners playing this Saturday. Had not thought of that but it’s true.

Brady will move the ball I believe. Going to be an interesting game. They were dogs in the final 3 rounds last year and won all of those so they should be used to difficult matchups.

I'm surprised the Buccaneers are favored at all.

Cupp and OBJ
Akers rounding into form
Aaron Donald

No Godwin, AB
Fournette just now coming back
No Wirfs

Never count Brady out (they've scored at least 30 in every playoff game), but the better team on paper looks like the visitors to me. I think it will take a Stafford mini-meltdown to swing it in Tampa's favor. Odds of that are probably 50/50.

All true.

The Bucs are like 22-4 (since the Chiefs regular season loss) in their last 26 games though, and purely dominant at home outside of the Saints debacle.

Granted, a pair of losses to the Rams in subsequent seasons. TB doesn’t match up well with the Rams. Similar to the Saints. I think they’ll need an Stafford/LA mistake or two in a low scoring game. Seems odd to say because they’ve still been scoring without those weapons, but I don’t think they can keep up if it turns into a shootout.

Wirfs is a big deal. Tampa needs to avoid making the same mistake KC made in the SB. Thinking they could run their normal offense without their tackles. Get extra bodies on the line. Use Gronk/OJ/Brate with their safeties out. Run it. Screen it. Short/quick passing game.

Tampa was down a few DB’s in the first matchup. Defense is finally healthy and has looked pretty good of late.

Rams have no safeties. Bucs have Gronk to attack that which is a big deal. Bucs have a far superior QB with tons of experience in these situations. Fournette should be back. The advantages and disadvantages go both ways. If this was at a neutral site one of them would be favored -1 so the line here looks right to me.

Missing Godwin and AB seems like it should hurt them but they’ve kept cruising on offense. I’m very surprised by that but they’ve done it for four games now, 3 of which were against decent to very good defenses.

Going back to last year where would this rank as the most difficult playoff game?  They were dogs in the first 3.

Imo:

1. @ Green Bay

2. SB vs Chiefs

3. @ New Orleans

4. Rams

5. @ WFT

6. Eagles

I gave them no chance against the Saints or Packers last year. Those seemed like “happy to be here” games for me. After they won those and the Chiefs lost their bookends I was pretty confident about the SB.

People keep doubting Tom Brady. I’m guilty of it too, and don’t like our chances this weekend. He just keeps proving everyone wrong.

Difference in this game is he gets pretty rattled if he gets hit and our line isn’t 100% for the first time in two years. That’s huge.

Can guys get open enough in the 2 seconds he’s going to hold the ball? Dubious.

Jensen is almost definitely playing. I think Wirfs gives it a go, who knows what he can do.   I imagine they have somebody like Howard or Brate try to chip the edge to help Wells if he has to start.

Guys got open in 2.1 seconds Sunday. Ramsey is a stud but the Rams secondary overall doesn’t seem to be great. I think Brady will figure it out. He hit the Rams for 430 yards in week 3 with no AB and no Gronk in the second half.

The Rams last 4 road games

lost to GB by 8 - were down 19 at the start of the 4th. And of course Gb had injuries too

beat AZ by 7

beat Min by 7

beat Balt w/o Lamar by 1

I dunno. I feel better about it than I did yesterday. Definitely could lose but feel like a lot is being made out of Monday night’s game.

1) Do another 10 of these.

2) I'll post Brady > Stafford and repeat your bolded statement above.

3) We'll call it a push.

I loaded up on the Tampa D for fantasy this season.  Wasn't the best decision, but Tampa D was huge in the playoffs last year and I think it's better on paper this year.
