Not that he would need to practice to play, but this pretty much seals it - he will play Sunday IMO

Kyle Shanahan said TE George Kittle (groin) was close to playing, but he is glad the decision was made to sit him and get him even healthier for Week 3 to face the Broncos.
Another week isn't going to get this guy healthy. Something else will get hurt.I hope he doesn't play as an owner..Groin are tricky and I believe another week would do him well.
Question for Kittle managers who a) play on Yahoo and b) have IR slots: Am I understanding this correctly that, since his status has now been changed to Questionable, I will be prevented from making any transactions, including waiver claims, until I move him to my active roster and drop someone?
Rats, I was hoping there might be some loophole.Question for Kittle managers who a) play on Yahoo and b) have IR slots: Am I understanding this correctly that, since his status has now been changed to Questionable, I will be prevented from making any transactions, including waiver claims, until I move him to my active roster and drop someone?
Yep

Yep
If I knew Kittle was coming back, I'd drop Engram (or maybe I wouldn't, given Kittle's injury history).
Good news is I just realized I was planning on dropping my K anyway, so I did that now to ensure my claim for GWilson can still go through overnight. Bad news is Kittle is playing on SNF, so I may not know his status by Sunday morning. Whatever ends up happening, I just hope the Niners tell us in advance.
Glad I traded this guy before the draft. Can't keep holding onto him hoping he'll stay healthy all year.
Can't say I got a lot. No one wanted him. Traded him for a second when Pickens was still sitting there as the last of his tier. Actually did leave me thin at TE, too. Figured better to get something out of him now than nothing later. What'd you get for him?
Saw a guy I wanted sitting there and had a guy I didn't want on my roster and went for it.That seems like you are super low on Kittle. This is a bad time to sell if all you can get is an early 2nd.
Glad I got rid of Kittle even more now. Lucked out with how Pickens has done since then.Yeah, I had a Pickens for somebody this year. I got the 2.1 for Zeke. So I know all about Pickens for a player that's just gonna eat up a team. Now, mine is slightly rebuilding, but still, I get the move. Can't say I got a lot. No one wanted him. Go Pickens!
I would have liked more for Kittle. Everbody's mileage varies.
Kittle already hurt and Pickens has looked good so far.Did something happen for you to say that?Looking like it might work out for the best. I'm hopingThat seems like you are super low on Kittle. Made of glass and needs to retire

I feel like we understand your position on Kittle pretty well at this point.Needs to be IR'd with bruised genitalia.
Lol just having some funGlad I traded this guy before the draft. Can't keep holding onto him hoping he'll stay healthy all year.

I think if you make the waiver claim BEFORE he gets designated from O to Q...it will go thru. I currently have two claims that I made last night that are still listed as claims. Today, when I tried to make another claim, it did tell me that I have a guy on the IR who is not eligible.Question for Kittle managers who a) play on Yahoo and b) have IR slots: Am I understanding this correctly that, since his status has now been changed to Questionable, I will be prevented from making any transactions, including waiver claims, until I move him to my active roster and drop someone?
I can't be the only one to read flapgreen's posts hearing Johnny Drama's voice? Seems like it fits quite well.Needs to be IR'd with bruised genitalia.
George Kittle (groin) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Barring a setback, Kittle is expected to make his season debut this week against the Broncos Sunday night. The season-ending injury to Trey Lance and return of Jimmy Garoppolo under center is probably a boost to Kittle's TE1 stock.

George Kittle (groin) practiced again on Thursday.
Kittle will likely be slapped with another "limited" tag, but the back-to-back sessions means he avoided setbacks on Wednesday. At this point, that is the only thing that could hold him out against the Broncos. With Jimmy Garoppolo back under center and the Niners' pass attempts certain to rise, Kittle remains a top-five TE1 even though Jimmy G doesn't exactly presage an elite aerial attack.

George Kittle caught 4-of-5 targets for 28 yards in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to Denver.
All of Kittle's targets but one came in the first half, and with Trent Williams (ankle) down early in the third quarter, San Francisco began to have to use Kittle in the blocking game more to help handle Denver's edge players. Kittle managed just one first down, but looked spry and played fast coming off missing the first two weeks with a groin injury. If Williams' injury is serious, the 49ers could spend more time with Kittle chipping, which would limit his overall fantasy upside. But we all know he's still a TE1 in season long leagues even if that happens.

George Kittle caught 2-of-4 targets for 24 yards in the 49ers' Week 4 win over the Rams.
Kittle wasn't targeted in the first half but started the third quarter with a 20-yard grab down the seam. That was his highlight of the night. Kittle has gone 4/28 and 2/24 in back-to-back games after missing Weeks 1-2 with a groin injury. He's a boom-or-bust TE1 headed into Week 5 against the Panthers. Kittle is still running a route on virtually every drop-back.

He doesn’t seem to be moving exceptionally well….Seems like Kittle has been phased out of the offense, not getting many looks like he used to.
Have to wonder why Shanahan is not throwing to him anymore.
Only good thing is he is on the field all the time and running routes all the time but no passes to him
They are better with Kittle blocking while finding ways to get Deebo the ball. Sucks as I have Kittle, but that’s the reality. He's one helluva blocker, watched him stay in to help on the left side where ALL Pro LT-Trent Williams is OUT as a reminder
Tell him not to block so well. What to do with this guy?

WhiffingBuying
I’ll wait until Williams comes back.Think it is time to cut him, he is pretty much a dead roster spot moving forward.
He will have a game or two that is good but he will be far down the list of TE's as far as receiving goes
No doubt Shanahan will take the blocking production over the offensive production, especially with Samuel and Aiyuk in the fold, any day. Stinks for fantasy but great for the team.
As discussed above, Kittle was a great fantasy asset when he was essentially the only receiving option in town. Since Deebo and Aiyuk have come in, his value as a blocker has been even more essential, allowing Deebo and/or Aiyuk to be the main receiving options outside a few big splash games by Kittle. And the Niners offense is typically not pass friendly enough to support multiple receiving options unless the rare game script calls for it. Works great for the team, just not so much for us fantasy owners of Kittle. What are you guys doing with him? He is becoming a frustrating start. Yesterday looked great, but I am not sure he had a target in the second half. He just isn't the guy he was a few seasons ago and is more of a blocker than receiver now.
