TE Mark Andrews, BAL (7 Viewers)

Traded into the #10 slot in my TE-premium devy league to draft him many years ago, which was a bit of a bold take at the time since he didn't have the hype in NCAA of a Pitts/Howard/Mayer. Never imagined he'd become this dominant. By the end of his college career, I thought he was on more of a fringe FF starter trajectory. He packed on weight at Oklahoma and seemed to lose some athleticism over time. I thought Hurst was the better talent when Baltimore drafted them both. Have to admit, I didn't have "Andrews becoming a top 5 asset in my league" on my bingo card when he fell to the 3rd round and was the 2nd TE the Ravens drafted that year. Pleased to have been right and then wrong about him. Guy's a machine now. Shows up on the stat sheet every week.

Mark Andrews caught 7-of-11 targets for 106 yards and one touchdown in the Ravens' Week 6 loss to the Giants.

Andrews, as expected, led the Ravens in receiving on the day, hauling in multiple big gains on his way to an elite fantasy day. Each of Andrews' receptions went for 11+ yards on the afternoon, while his lone score came from 12-yards out. Andrews outran a defender to the corner of the end zone to secure his fifth touchdown of the season and has a receiving line of 39-455-5 after six weeks. He continues to be a high-end TE1 next week against the Browns.

Mark Andrews did not record a reception in the Ravens' Week 7 win against the Browns.

Perhaps Andrews wasn't at 100 percent after missing practice time this week with a knee issue. He saw just two targets on the day and logged one rush for four yards. Lamar Jackson threw just 16 passes against the Browns as the Ravens leaned on Gus Edwards and the rushing attack against a poor Cleveland front seven. This sudden shift in offensive philosophy after a pass-first approach over the season's first six weeks could be a major issue for Andrews if it continues. Andrews drafters can hope the team's Week 7 approach was a blip. He'll be a top fantasy option in Week 8 against the Bucs.

Sorry guys, I jinxed him.

Let's try to reverse this for next week.

Andrews is a bum and Baltimore made a huge mistake by letting Hayden Hurst go.

Anybody watching the whole game and let us know why he was almost blanked? They have LBs abd DBs hanging all over him the whole game or something?

Lamar Jackson said the Browns were "scheming up to take away" Mark Andrews in Week 7.

“Two guys (were) guarding Mark sometimes," Jackson told The Athletic. "That’s just what they did. And like I said, we only threw the ball 16 times. Some plays won’t go to him. It went to other guys.” While it's fair to be concerned about Andrews' health in Week 8 on a short week, it sounds like the game plan was as much of a factor in his poor output in the box score as the knee injury that has kept him out of practice.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Rashod Bateman (foot) and Mark Andrews (knee) will be active for Week 8 against the Bucs.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported earlier Thursday the two pass catchers were expected to go. Especially with Andrews, it is fair to wonder how the two will bounce back on the short week, but Andrews remains a no-brainer start while it is difficult to leave Bateman's (theoretical) upside on benches.

Looks like I’ll be starting him since he’s active and I don’t have room to add a replacement.

Anybody else going to start?

Well that was the risk. At least it wasn't a 0 but also this would have likely been a real big ppr game for him if he was able to finish the game. With the bye coming up, now I wish they just would have sat him.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh does not believe Mark Andrews' shoulder injury is serious.

Andrews, meanwhile, said he expects to be "fine." Andrews did finish the game on the sideline, which isn't something you usually do if you just suffered an injury that is going to cost major time. Working against Andrews' favor of playing in Week 9 against the Saints is that he was already battling a knee issue and the Ravens are headed on bye in Week 10. Some extra rest would certainly seem to be the prudent play. Isaiah Likely had a huge game in Andrews' Week 8 absence.

Yeah Andrews was on the sidleines chatting up teammates and talking to Likely/Oliver. Doesn't look serious and he has 10 days to rest up. Slight chance they sit him next game but unless he had nerve damage of something he'll play IMHO.

Hope he didn't bust a color bone
Nah. They definitely did an X-ray, and we would have heard if it was a fractured collar bone. He probably had a shoulder stinger. Have you ever had one of those? I had one back in the day. The pain was excruciating but it went away completely the next day. I’m not saying that’s what he had, but all indications are that it’s not a serious injury.

Andrews is a beast. If you own him, you absolutely need to have Likely as well. If you don’t currently have Likely, trade for him as soon as Andrews is cleared for next week. You are pretty much guaranteed 10 points a week, and given the barren Tight End situation this year, that’s a huge advantage.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Mark Andrews' shoulder injury is not a "major thing".

Andrews was questionable with a knee injury heading into last week's game with the Buccaneers and went down with a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. Whether or not Andrews' knee is still giving him problems wasn't addressed on Monday, but he's at least dealing with a shoulder injury ahead of the team's Week 9 matchup with the Saints. If Andrews is unable to go, rookie tight end Isaiah Likely would have top-12 upside after going for 6-77-1 in Andrews' absence last week.

I picked up Likely in case he can't go. I honestly hope they keep him out and just let him rest up through the bye week.

Thats not a good quote. have Everett for this week and next as my replacement…but may want likely for Monday night instead

Bloom said "He’s almost certainly out for Week 9, and we’ll see what his status is after the bye."
Based on?
Maybe based on him getting hurt and not being able to play
"Not being able to play" based on what?

Thursday??

I sure wouldn’t expect him to play if they have a bye next. They are in a good spot and don’t need to win this, his health is more important.

Not to mention Harbaugh said it wasn't serious and Andrews was chatting up guys on the sidelines, leading people to surmise he had a neck stinger.

(fantasypros) Mark Andrews continues to deal with a shoulder injury he suffered last week, and he remained out of practice on Thursday.

Analysis: Head coach John Harbaugh previously noted that he did not believe the injury was a "major thing" but no practice whatsoever is always worth monitoring. Luckily for Andrews, the Ravens have an extra day of rest as they are set to face the Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 9. Andrews is the type of player that could suit up without practicing but fantasy mangers will want to have a contingency plan in place in case he cannot go this week. If Isaiah Likely is still out there on some waiver wires, he needs to be picked up universally.

I have Likely and he would be the easy choice to play this week as I have Schultz on bye. However, They play Monday so I Likely won't know if Andrews is out until too late. Hopefully they rule him out early if he is not playing.

I am starting Higbee this week, and picked up DeMarcus Robinson, and will flex he or Andrews on Monday.

Weird scenario, but there's no WRs on the wire, deep league.

I should drop Dulcich for Engram and just play him this week, right? Some moron (not the guy I’m playing this week) added Likely in waivers so I will be screwed if Andrews is announced out Monday.
