Andrews had a massive year in 2021 with personal bests by margins of 43 catches (107) and 509 yards (1,361), including the most productive stretch of his career while catching passes from backup QB Tyler Huntley. It was a much different story in 2022, when Andrews averaged 63.1 yards in the nine games for which he and Lamar Jackson both were healthy but then dropped to 49.2 yards in five regular-season games with Huntley taking most of the snaps.All five of Andrews' TDs came from Jackson, who inked a five-year extension with Baltimore this offseason and now has more help after the signing of WR Odell Beckham and drafting of WR Zay Flowers. That amounts to more target competition for Andrews, but he's still the most trusted of Baltimore's receiving options and could end up running more routes under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, formerly the OC at Georgia. Kansas City's Travis Kelce remains in a league of his own, of course, but it's otherwise hard to name another tight end with a floor or ceiling higher than Andrews'.

Good info but that outlook doesn't mention Andrews battled knee and shoulder injuries last year. I'm more concerned if those are 100% cleared up than if Andrews will return value.

He just didn't look like himself after game 6 due to nagging injuries.

I’m all about Andrews this year. He’s capable of top 2. Yes Hoch might be capable too but I feel his floor is lower. And Andrews is 1A.

It's not saying much since he's consensus TE2, but I think he's in for a monster season.

The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec believes Mark Andrews “will remain Jackson’s go-to target” based on what he’s seen in training camp.

Andrews will face much stiffer target competition in 2023 than what he’s seen in any other year of his career. Still, the additions of Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers don’t figure to be enough to make Andrews any kind of an afterthought in Todd Monken’s offense. Currently going as the TE2 in most fantasy drafts, Andrews should be in line for yet another strong season in an offense that’s expected to be much more explosive.

The team isn't required to give details until next week so I wouldn't expect any before then.

Even then I expect them to be vague "Lower body" or some such.

Nobody knows what’s going on with Andrews, but the Ravens tight end has missed six straight practices with his mystery injury. Despite the missed time, Harbaugh expects to have his veteran tight end back on Wednesday, as the Ravens begin prepping for Sunday’s Week 1 matchup against the Texans. It should go without saying, but Andrews is a must-start if active on game day.

I did exactly that. I’m playing Andrews if he’s playing. If he isn’t, Likely is close to a must start, so f the Ravens offense is rocking. Bye week is 13 so plenty of time to find other depth.

I normally always prioritize TE, but it didn't fall that way much, and I ended up with Njoku in a few leagues. He's probably top-5 by default at this point.

I was aiming for the top TEs but missed out on them and ended up settling for Hockenson and Pitts.

I got lucky, Goedert, Engram and Hock are the TEs I ended up with everywhere.

Interesting, in the drafts I was doing, Hock was actually the TE3 or TE4 usually.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Mark Andrews (quad, questionable) is expected to be inactive for Week 1 against the Texans.
That is going to qualify as a “yikes.” Andrews has been battling the issue for several weeks, but he seemed on the right side of questionable after getting in a slate of limited practices. Instead, a Ravens team favored by two scores at home will exercise caution with an eye toward getting Andrews closer to 100 percent for Week 2 against the Bengals. There is obviously no true replacement for Andrews on the waiver wire, but you could do a whole lot worse than his direct backup Isaiah Likely.

Nah. Andrews obviously wasn't going to be 100% if he had played, a healthy Likely isn't really a drop off. If this was last year sure but he has plenty of weapons to utilize.

i also have Tua because i was so meh on Lamar that I went 2nd QB early in case my hunch was right.. as of right now I should've followed that hunch. If he can't score against this team i'm not sure where the points are coming from.

That’s not to say Andrews still can’t be highly productive, but I can see a noticeable step down from a few years back. Not unlike what happened to Kittle several years ago when he wasn’t the only receiving sheriff in town anymore.

Andrews got in three limited sessions last week and was still forced to sit on Sunday, so his practice today doesn’t put him out of the woods yet. The biggest positive indicator will be when he gets his first full practice in. This session was likely another limited one. Fantasy managers spin the wheel with Isaiah Likely once again if Andrews isn’t able to return for Week 2, though there are better streaming options available in most leagues.

Andrews has logged back-to-back practices to open the week, but the same could be said of him last week before the team ultimately decided to sit him. We may not fully know Andrew’s status until Sunday when the team announces its Week 2 inactives. Flowers seems to be a guy they'll move around a lot. To your point though, if Monken elevates the passing offense overall, then there may indeed be enough for everyone to eat.

Both are very good receivers who couldn’t stay healthy. My point stance that at the time Hollywood Brown was basically they’re only wide receiver.

I bought him last week and instantly regret it. Tried selling him this week for a WR2 type (ridley, dk, Higgins, cooper). All were rejected. I have a bad feeling he's gonna be a dud all year.

With the state of the TE market, I don’t think he’ll be a dud, but probably won’t return ADP value.

He's starting to round into form from a health angle and everything will work itself out the healthier he gets. I'd be buying, not selling.
