TE Mark Andrews, BAL (1 Viewer)

This could be a great spot with Bateman and OBJ out, but scoring 10 points on the Browns feels like a monumental feat. It's not like OBJ and Bateman are good bets to stay healthy.

As bad as it's been, he's still on a 110 target pace and he's still going to be a big red zone target.

I'm trying to trade him for a WR (also have Kelce, auction) but waiting for him to go off and for people to tire of starting Pitts/Njoku et al

But unless you have Laporta or kelce what are you doing at the TE position. There’s nothing…he’ll be an end zone target. Might not be a stud but it’s better than working the wire week after week juggling 5 pt TEs.

So funny though…every year the FF podcasts and community act like there’s some difference between TE4 and TE14. if I don’t get a top guy I’ll draft the last TE. I’ve won a disproportionate amount of championships in keeper leagues and TE was the key (Gronk and then Kelce). You can get WRs, QBs and RBs…the top TEs make all the difference

Laporta is my next target…

Kamara is valued higher than Andrews to me unless it's a TE premium league(they exist). but at the same time we are seeing a debut of Jamaal Williams that will cap some upside with Kamara possibly? I might be tempted based on how you think the backfield fares into the future.

Want Upside? keep Kamara
Floor play is Andrews

Also crux of this is your current TE/RBs and if you are happy or not with those slots.

: Ravens TE Mark Andrews is now in the X-ray room and is on crutches, as he is unable to put weight on his injured ankle.

This is a relevant report .One of the rules that goes into “predicting” an absence of fractures is the ability to bear weight immediately after the injury. Andrews cannot do that. This is not a good sign for Andrews at this moment.

Welp, this is unfortunate. I have Likely too, but I'm not sure if he can fill in for the rest of the season if it's a bad injury. Probably better than most of what's on waivers. Huge blow.

Kinda reminded me a little of the Tony Pollard injury last playoffs. Where it didn't look as bad as the prognosis, and then the prognosis kept getting worse.

Cracked fibula and ankle ligament tear is what they are saying on NFL network.

wilson should get fined at least. they fine guys for wearing different color shoes. this guy is trying to hurt people
Do other people not utillize the hip drop tackle?

I realize Andrews was hurt badly and Jackson/OBJ are banged up. But, I think it's an accepted form of tackling. I don't think it's necessarily his intent to inflict injury on someone. Mark Andrews isn't an easy guy to get down. It's his job to get him down. I'd be way more upset if he went helmet to helmet or dove at his knees. Pulling him down from behind and dropping his weight to help it?

Agree and I have Andrews as my TE so unless that form of tackling is outlawed then no problem with it. Football is a brutal sport.

There's nothing wrong with either of the tackles on Andrews or Lamar. Risk/reward, you want the extra yards when someone is hanging on your back, you either go down or risk getting the tacklers weight dropped on your legs.
Otherwise may as well play the clown music when guys run for 35 yards with a defender attached to their back

Let's see what Likely can do. I am glad I got him attached in a deal I made 2 weeks ago.
I thought he would have been better when he replaced Andrews previously, not counting last night. He may be fools gold. Last year he had a good game if memory serves.

He might be fools gold. He didn't do anything week 1 but also a new offense and all that. They weren't quite in sync. This is from John Daigle, last year Likely had a 50% or better snap share in 3 games. He was the TE2, TE9 and TE3 in weekly PPR scoring those 3 weeks.

i remember him dropping passes last year. I don’t have the stats in front of me.

Not sure but the hype is justified, he was a fantasy beast when Andrews hurt last year. Now they have much better receiving options and a new offense so who knows for 2023 but there is at least some logic behind the hope.

Andrews missed week 1 and Likely had 1 catch for 4 yards.

If you're short on options, Likely isn't the worst start in the world. I don't think we're going to get similar success to last year.

Agreed, what I think is not being emphasized enough is that the new Monken offense is not the same as last year - seems to be much less funneling through Andrews. That's not to say that Likely won't have a few big games, but not necessarily because it's such a TE friendly offense like it used to be.

Excellent point.
