TE Travis Kelce, KC (2 Viewers)

They need to get him more involved. This offense is currently not very good. Mahomes just doesn't look as in command as he did pre-2023. So many mistakes, so few big plays.
+1

I might make some low-ball offers for Kelce and see if anybody has capitulated. TE is a wasteland. Kelce will have weeks where he'll eat.

Really? He wasn't eating a LOT in 2023. He had one, truly monster game last year... rest was good or below average. Regular season stretch run was pretty blah IIRC.

Eh, maybe he'll be the one guy that beats Father Time.

The TE landscape is a crapshoot. Didn't "washed" Kelce finish in the top three last year?

Unless you have one of those leagues that rewards you for what your player did last year... it doesn't really matter, does it?

Have a look... how much did that 30+ point game impact his final ranking in 2023. That's a unicorn game for a TE.

He looks completely gassed now and Mahomes is not looking for him. In fact he looked PAST him last night in one of those crazy scramble drills.

This dude is cooked. And I don’t blame him one bit. He has no reason to even still be playing. He’s rich, famous, 1st ballot HOFer, couple rings, billionaire girlfriend, endless money coming in from endorsements, wildly successful podcast.

This is 100% his last season.

Also, I noticed yesterday that jersey fitting a bit tighter this year around the mid section. He’s not fat, obviously, but he’s definitely carrying more weight out there than he ever has before.

Kelce doesn't look great right now, but let's keep it real. TE is a complete wasteland this season through 3 weeks. Maybe it's due to the adjustments defenses have been making for the last 1-2 years. Different routes open up. Different personnel packages work better than they used to. I'm one to believe Kelce's career is in the home stretch, but even still, who would you trade him for right now? I own no shares, but if I did, I would consider moving him for Ferguson and maybe Bowers, McBride or Kittle, in that order, and dependent on their injuries. Kelce's TD upside is still there because of what's between his ears, but he's become a plodder. He's no longer a great man beater. If teams run zone, fine, he'll eat but most teams are choosing M2M 2 high these days.

Sapping one of his fluids can make him a plodder. We should have seen it coming.

I know I'm not saying anything novel here, but as a frustrated Mahomes-Kelce dynasty owner that has long ago decided to ride these two into the dirt, I just don't think anyone in KC cares about producing fantasy stats for this battery, particularly Reid, Mahomes, and Kelce. They'll lean on their defense. They'll lean on Rice. They'll lean on Pacheco. They'll lean on Butker. They'll lean on Steele. They'll lean on Perine. They'll get every 50-50 call at the end of the game.

Maybe Kelce is fully cooked. Personally, I won't be surprised at all if he goes ballistic in the playoffs or end of the regular season to secure the 1-seed. They'll count their rings when they're done and not give two craps about the damage they're doing to my fantasy team. The gall!!

McShay blasts Kelce for being out of shape

Amid Kelce’s lackluster production of late, former ESPN analyst Todd McShay blamed the Chiefs tight end’s sluggish start on his offseason lifestyle and physical conditioning.

“Every broadcast I’ve watched for the last few weeks, it’s like, are we not allowed to say that he’s out of shape?” McShay said on The Ryen Russillo Podcast. “That he’s been partying all offseason? He’s been jet-setting around with the most famous person probably in the entire world, that he’s drinking, going to the U.S. Open, he’s got cocktails in.”

Russillo then pushed back on McShay’s argument, claiming that a few drinks don’t necessarily make Kelce a bad athlete. McShay nonetheless continued hammering away at his point.

“What I do know is, I want you to take a picture from preseason 2022 and then take a picture preseason 2024. They’re barely the same human being, Ryan,” said McShay. “And everyone’s like, ‘We gotta get him the ball. Why isn’t he part of the offense? The defense is double-covering him.’ Here’s the thing, bottom line with Kelce, the coverage and the respect he gets is the same—the athlete is not… He’s not in the same shape. He’s not the same. I don’t see the same explosiveness. I see him wearing down a bit in-game.”

Well, it is well known the older you get the harder it is to stay in shape, but don't tell that do past workout warriors who succeeded well into their 30s. Not that Kelce hasn't, he has, but you get what I mean.

Its a weird time we live in. Everything that happens needs something/someone to blame. No, its not that Travis Kelce is playing at age 35, when most guys at his position retire. Its gotta be...

Yep. Let's see, what was Gronk doing at 35? Oh, he is 35 now and hasn't played in three years, but let's kill Kelce for being 35 and slowing down. And I am sure he is the only NFL player who got laid in the offseason.
Well said. Although at 49, I resent all those words. Ha ha

As it should.....,.except a lawsuit against the stalker inciting the incident.

Homophobic?

How? Is Taylor swift really a dude?

If not, so what?
Calling someone the F word is still a homophobic slur.

Just as calling someone the N word is still a racist slur.

So many people are so brazen, anonymously posting crap from the safety of their keyboards. Say the same to someone’s face and it’s a whole other thing. Glad Kelce did what he did.

Not a homophobic slur and was said all the time for decades there's even a great Louie CK skit about that word.
I guess many want to remove all laws and allow anyone who gets upset by someone else's words to take their property and destroy it. Could be their phone or car or wallet or purse this goes for women as well. If you make me upset by your words I can destroy anything on you or anything you own and we good.

Yes, but the post said the idiot said something homophobic about both of them?

I'm not black nor gay, so calling me the n-word or f-word wouldn't really register.

I'm not saying it's okay to say these things and I'm fine with Jason punching this punk. I'm just confused by what happened

Maybe a little ‘roid rage going on ?

This is the very definition of "eff around and find out."

The kid provoked a former NFL lineman by shouting a loaded derogatory word to describe the guy's brother. I'm not saying Kelce was right to do what he did. But that kid was absolutely not a victim.

So Kelce has certainly had a subpar year but I kept hoping for a turnaround. Now with Mahomes potentially out I’m trying to determine if there’s any way this could be beneficial for Kelce. Will Wentz key on the short stuff and pepper Kelce ? What does the pool think about his prospects?

I’m on the fence of picking up Strange and maybe starting him over Kelce this weekend. Am I nuts? Crazy times

I would pickup Strange regardless. If nothing else, block others. I personally would start him too.

FWIW… Mahomes was a full go today at practice.
