Going for 2 was the right call there.  If you miss like they did you can tie the game still by making two more 2's.

If you kick the XP then you are basically going all or nothing on the last 2 pointer you tie or lose.

Going for 2 down 16 is 100% the right call 100 times out of 100.  It gives you two different chances to tie the game.  Kicking XP only gives you one chance.
