Tennessee at Baltimore (-10) Game Thread-Divisional Round (1 Viewer)

You would have had a hard time convincing me before the game that Tannehill would have more successful short-yardage conversions than Jackson by game's end...

No one here clearly understands strategy.  You go for two when down 16 100% of the time I can't believe I have to explain this.

You make the 2 pointer and your down 14 so you can tie with 2 more TD's and XP's.

If you miss you can still tie the game by getting 2 TD's and 2 two pointers.

If you kick the XP this time and next time you down 8 and now you have ONLY ONE CHANCE to tie the game.

How can no one here but me understand that 2 chances is better than one chance.

Make it now or make the next 2 as opposed to 1 shot of making it at end.
Its not all about math

Its about psychology and keeping momentum

But how do you know that the 2-Pt after the 3rd TD isn't the right time and increases the chances of making it with all the momentum on your side at that point?

Is this one of those analytics things that Cleveland is taking the league by storm with?

Another way to explain it.

You are down three TDS and will need a 2 pointer on one of them. You don’t know if you will make it or not.

Which TD do you want to try it on. The only correct answer is the first, because if you miss you still have a shot.

If you wait for TD two or three and miss you are toast.

Actually, if you get it to 14 and then score again, you should go for two that time as well.

I would have saved that timeout for 4th down so they don't do the run the clock punt thing.

Tenn can do this all playoffs. This is the problem with how the modern NFL game is structured in a pass obsessed league. Nobody cares to build a monster d line anymore. Gone are the Ray Lewis and Urlacher type guys who can plug holes up front. They've been replaced by 235 lb coverage LBs and 240 lb edge rushers. You get a team with a physical monster at RB and a run oriented Oline, they have the advantage.

Baltimore must score a TD before 2 minute warning this way if they don't get the onside kick they have the 1 timeout and the 2 min warning left.

If the clock hits 2 mins before they score that's the game without getting onside kick and since that is like 5% they need to score with like 2:05 or more left.

All that said, I refuse to believe throwing the ball to Boykin was their best option there.
There have been a lot of questionable play calls... not lining up Lamar in pistol spread on both 4th downs and optioning outside was stunning. Line was getting blown up this game and they went up the middle 1st time, off tackle 2nd.

Is that why Tennessee was 16-0 this year?
