Terrence Kiel's last hit was a hard one. The former Chargers strong safety took out some small trees along Stonebridge Parkway before he smashed into the wall and fatally flipped his supercharged Chevy on the embankment behind Alsup's home Friday night.
Kiel's path was marked yesterday morning with yellow paint, along the road and across the adjoining sidewalk. He had come through the sharp curve at the bottom of the hill, but the paint told of problems on the straight, steep grade toward the next intersection, Stockwood Cove.
At Point A, Kiel would have been hugging the center divide. By Point A8, perhaps 40 paces away, he had hopped the curb and nearly crossed the sidewalk. From there, his path was marked by snapped branches, dislodged dirt, shattered glass, strewn cinderblocks and the remnants the police left behind
