Homers: what are your predictions about season stats for DeAngelo Williams for 2014?
Contracts & Cuts are due in my favorite Dynasty League by midnight Tuesday, and I have DAW on a 1-year deal, but my Team is loaded with prospects I'm trying to keep under the cap, and I could use the roster spot more than the 1 year. I have a bunch of other RB that fall into the same general range as DAW, which by fbg's rankings have him as a borderline RB2/RB3 (ppr) for a 16-teamer.
I've always been enamored with DAW, and I've owned him for a few years hoping for more, but he never seems to be more than an RB2 at best, and a mid-to-low-end one at that. I know from experience that projecting him has a lot to do with Jon Stewart, who (for now) appears to be healthy and capable of making an impact. But who knows how long that might last. Benjamin looks like the real deal, and if that holds true, it makes Cam and Olsen better (I personally like Cotchery and Avant teamed with a productive Benjamin, making the entire Panthers passing game more likeable to me), which should, in theory, make the entire offense more balanced and productive.
If I felt I could get high-end RB2 (ppr) production out of Williams, like, say, RB20, I'd be inclined to keep him, otherwise I'd rather release or trade him to make room for some of my young prospects.
What say ye, Panthers faithful?
