No need to call names and yell. Sorry I touched a nerve. And I can pull of the denim short look.
You can keep telling yourself that but that doesn't make it true.
I know some won't call Urban Outfitters :style: but thought it was interesting that a ton of their shorts are denim. J
Oh you mean UO the place that still sells trucker hats? Why is your observation interesting? We're talking about Urban Outfitters here. Go to grown up shops like Nordstrom's and see if there's any jorts.
Did some dude in jorts beat you as a kid?You sure are angry about them.
You definitely come across as a jorts lover. How many pairs do you have?

Urban Outfitters is definitely :style:. It is mostly hipster style though, hence the denim.
No it is not. It's a place that many THINK is a hipster shop which it isn't. Complete opposite of style.
:wall: They have a good collection of shorts

True to you or the two girls I was with last Saturday night? Hint, I'm not trying to :style: you.
If you're going to lie you might as well say you were in an orgy with 10 women.
OK, one was already my girlfriend. But we picked up a half drunk tourist on Bourbon street and proceeded to show her some of the finer establishments. Went up stairs for a lap dance and my girlfriend immediately took off her top. The stripper was trying to pay attention to me, but, couldn't keep her eyes off the other two making out. Next place we went I sat in the middle and they were all over me, so much so everyone was watching us and not the dancers. Bouncer had to ask us to cool it down or he would make us leave. We left anyway and took her back to her hotel room.I don't make this stuff up. And the topic of the denim jeans I was wearing (most of the night) never came up.

That's a better story but not quite as good as Tom in Albany but you're getting better at it.I didn't know you live in Louisiana, that changes everything since it's the jorts capital of the world along with some parts of Florida.

Now I know why I stopped shopping there. Funny but the one near me never has them so perhaps online it's geared towards a wider group of people.

I'm not going to embellish because I'm not on a fishing trip here, but, these things do happen when you ditch the sweater and sink your teeth into life.

I've only lived in Louisiana a year and have been wearing good looking denim shorts in Dallas, Denver and Portland. Maybe you are from the east coast? I had no idea that some people put denim shorts in the same bucket at fanny packs and wife beaters. I'll never be more comfortable in anything than jeans when I wear long pants. And if it's OK to wear something in a pant why would it be any different in shorts?

I don't wear sweaters. Jeans are definitely fine but don't even remotely put them in the same class as jorts. I would rather lose a testicle then have to wear jorts.

You definitely come across as a jorts lover.
:banned: Some great lines in this thread.
Forgot that these parts are jorts country and I'll loose that battle. Jorts away!
I'm one of the biggest jorts haters on this board. I'm laughing with you here and not at you for once.
Oh Jorts ranks as one of if not the worst "styles" out there. The "Why so upset/angry" shtick don't get old. Hating something to me doesn't mean I'm angry.

I would rather lose a testicle then have to wear jorts.
 I don't own any jorts but if given the choice of losing a testicle or wearing jorts all the time, Norstroms, here I come.J
Yea we already went over the Norstroms bit. A lot of guys love jorts, same with TapOut shirts and crocs which doesn't mean it's stylish. I still see fanny packs too.
I'm not talking about what some people wear. I'm talking about I differ from you in that if given the choice of wearing a pair of jorts or losing a testicle, I keep the pair. I hope that's shtick for you but that's where people get the "why so serious" thing I'm thinking. J

John Varvatos: “Square-toed shoes. They are an outdated style that can instantly make any man look bad.…I can’t tell you the number of women who have told me that a man wearing square-toed shoes may have just lost himself a second date. Shallow? Maybe. True? Definitely.”
I don't agree with this. First, wearing shoes that come to a point make me feel like an elf, which is weird. Second, and more practical (but still somewhat elf related), shoes that come more to a point or that can be rounded out add extra and unnecessary length to the shoe. For us taller gentlemen, adding two inches to my already size 13 shoe just starts to make things awkward and needless.

Saturday night for a casual dinner?

J
I actually shop mainly at smaller boutiques like HEM for jeans http://www.hemjeans.com/land.htm I'm super picky about jeans since I wear them most days out of the year.

Funny enough I have found a few things at Target of all places.

Puma store

Lacoste although not as much since most have the Izod logo on the front of the shirt which blows

I mainly shop now at a Neiman Marcus outlet store here in Austin.

I work from home

I like Hugo Boss, Boss, Paul La Fontaine, John Varvatos but also have different brands. I am not a slave to any particular brand but have found it harder to find stuff w/o logos on them.

I mainly wear jeans but like twenty four standard shorts. I got a few on sale shorts at REI that I like to lounge around in.

Casual dinner don't really have a typical style but usually a nice pair of jeans with a thin black button down shirt or short sleeve black Hugo Boss. All depends on where I'm going or what I'm doing.

If I wear a suit it's typically Canali

My goal is to look good dressed up or down and not overspend on clothes.

Sure I left a lot out

Hi Kendall,Nobody ever said stylish and functional were the same thing now...J
I'm arguing that squared shoes are still stylish for a taller gentleman. I'm trying to find a good example of a pair of dress shoes that I own that look quite nice.

They really aren't and were more of a fad. Classic dress shoes never go out of style.

I was confused at first, thinking squared toe meant something like this, where the tip is just flat instead of pointed or rounded. Didn't understand why that could possibly be a problem. Then I realized it was referring to this, where the entire front of the shoe is flat. I'm not sure they even make those anymore.

I'd be interested in even more casual than that. What for partying? BBQ? At the beach? Walking the dogs?
You don't have to look like a redneck bum when you party,BBQ, beach, walk the dogs. Doesn't mean you have to wear a suit either.Lots of nice shorts out there and casual nice shirts to pretty much wear for any occasion. If you simply don't care then the best bet is to shop at whatever is the cheapest store near you and load up. Why spend more money on horribly looking jorts when you can save and buy something cheaper? It's not as if jorts look remotely nice so why blow money to look bad? At least look bad and save money.

I'm perfectly fine with myself. I wasn't interested in advise. I was curious how you'd be dressed if I invited you over for a backyard BBQ.

Hi stu,I think it's referring to the Johnston and Murphy's too. Although they're not as bad.

As am I.Nice looking shorts and a nice t-shirt or polo type shirt (Boss / Vavartos) with pumas more than likely.

Here's a very casual comfortable shirt although I don't have it in this color

http://www.zappos.com/john-varvatos-v-neck-slub-tee-pool

I have some of these with and without the collar

http://www.zappos.com/boss-hugo-boss-verona-shirt-black

I have a pair that's sort of similar to these but mine look nicer, can't seem to find the style on line

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4=263602_263622

I like casual and sleek look but not bland / boring across the board.

Last year I bout about 8 vneck tshirts at the end of the season. might be a little :offdee:, but what the hell. They are tshirts and go with everything

(except jorts).
