THE FBG Fashion Thread :style: (2 Viewers)

Allen Edmonds' annual Rediscover America sale ends tomorrow. 15-35% off on all shoes, boots, and belts.
I really liked my Allen Edmonds shoes when I first got them...but the stitching was crappy and the soles didn't last nearly as long as most of my dress shoes. Expected better quality for the price.

High school reunion (20) on Friday. What do you guys recommend for these things? Not too fancy, at some lower end golf course club in NJ. Was thinking Sport coat, shirt, jeans, but seems like friends are going at least one step up from denim, not sure I care though. These are the main local stores I have to work with in the area here to put something together...

Ok... I've been seeing this on the more fashiony types on the streets here in NYC both where I work (near fashion district) and where I live (LES EVil- where everybody goes out) and I think I can **officially** say the following:

the Cosby sweater is BACK.

I wish I was kidding.

the Coogi sweater has been lurking in the street style for a few years. it was just a matter of time before it crossed over from hip-hop/street/urban to white boy hipster.

It's been happening for awhile. The ugly Christmas sweater parties and Cosby sweater parties were bound to lead to general wear. The young black kids especially have some wild fashion going on right now. It's more inspired by Urkel than gangsters.

I've seen them here and there the last couple of years- and yeah, mostly on skateboarding "urban" kids.

But this season I'm seeing them en masse for the fashiony set... thus the post.

That also means in about 2 years, after forgetting that he ridiculed them at first, Otis will be walking around in them and posting to all the nerds to get one.

Any insight on messenger/laptop bags. I've been noticing Bros. Leather Bags on facebook. Seem too be of good quality and look nice. Sub $200 "feels about right". Are there any others out there I should be looking at?
I got this one for Christmas last year. Love it.

Where is the best bang for buck place to up my sock game? Looking forward to some good sales later this month (on everything not just socks).
Hank Scorpio: Hammocks Socks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks Socks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Socks Hut, that's on third, there's HammocksSocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There, that's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the Hammock Socks complex on third.

Homer: Oh, the Hammocks Sock district!

Bought the white one. Getting mad respect from people, it almost feels like I'm wearing a Seahawks hat, lol. I was drinking shots of Jameison with some black dudes tonight.

I hope you didn't hit the brim on their midsections.

Actually, I'm taller than all my black friends. Creepy.

I like it. While it isn't an everyday life do of thing, vintage pieces like this can be totally worth owning. I'm not a fan of the rectangular face but for vintage it works. I love watches. I'd spend a fortune on a collection if I could.
One of the main reasons I bought it was because I don't have a watch with a rectangular face so it was different. It certainly won't be an everyday watch, but it was $50 so no big deal if I don't end up wearing it much. There were quite a few other vintage watches I preferred, but I had to settle for something cheaper because there was just no reason to buy a $300 vintage watch right now.

Call the "face" of a watch a dial from here on out.

Any suggestions for a pair of casual black shoes that are not driving mocs or wing tips?

It's strange but I'm the exact opposite. Haven't worn a watch since about 1992.

For you guys that are into the casual polo shirt, Uniqlo has these super cheap and the quality was surprisingly good. http://www.uniqlo.com/us/men/tops/polo.html

I got some of the Supima cotton. The fit is on the slim cut side. They material is light but doesn't feel cheap. It's not a lot more than a nice T-shirt with a collar, pocket and 3 buttons. These shirts, slim chinos, fun socks and Jack Purcells / Vans / PF Flyers are my normal spring / summer deal. I'm old so I go with the solid colors but you young bucks can pull off the patterns maybe. (and yes - untucked polo. Although since this is the :style: thread, I didn't need to tell you guys that)

Anyways, was pleasantly surprised at the quality given this low price and thought I'd pass along.

been looking for something like this
Just a BUMP here as a PSA.

I bought a bunch of these last year, and I just broke them out of the closet again. I'm a few lbs thinner and they really fit great. I had forgotten how awesome these shirts were. I'll likely pick up a bunch more this summer. So cheap, look great, can be worn super casual with shorts and flip flops, or with jeans, or dressed up with slacks and shoes.

Great call Joe.

(I got all solid colors, 2 button, no pockets, size XL (they run trim). Trying to figure out which are the same ones. Some of those patterns are ridiculous).

Just bought a pair of these at Academy Sports.com for $59 + free ship/no sales tax, Amazon pictures are better and more reviews. Wanted a slip on that was nicer than sandals/flip flops, but casual enough to wear with khaki shorts and a nice tshirt/polo in the summertime and not too flashy (had to talk myself out of a $170 pair of Lacoste's, nice but ended up not having my size anyways): http://www.amazon.com/Sperry-Top-Sider-Pilot-Tan-US/dp/B0059CW1VK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434655420&sr=8-1&keywords=Sperry+Men%27s+Pilot+Casual+Shoes&pebp=1434655422046&perid=0PD8T78DW2ZHQA8MPEA5

ETA: I'm 31, so I retired all cargo shorts to Goodwill and am moving to limit sandals and sneaks to quick trips to the store and the beach at this point.
