I can ask the guy who built the pages to incorporate that for sure. I do think we will shift towards total points next year although.... i sort of like having the matchups mean something. Is there a way at all to sort your FBG standings page by total points and not record? So I just talked with the person who is setting the cutline. Because of the nature of the top two teams in each division making it AND THEN highest point total to round out, we can't give even a projected cutline due to how top two teams and top point scorers can vary from league to league. HOWEVER, I do know our playoff pool is going to be approximately 475 teams based on the 25% number we've floated around. This doesn't mean the top 475 in points will make it. What this means is 316 division winners and runners up will gain automatic entry, followed by approximately another 160ish teams based solely on points scored and not record.
That way if we are not top 2 in our div we can at least see where we are in points.
I realise many of those in that standings will be top 2 teams but at least it's closer to an idea of where we stand.
This is a debate we have had in my main league for years. H2H matchups introduce a lot of luck into the equation but eliminating them and going total points instead of record is just nowhere near as fun.
We settled on keeping matchups but having wild card teams based off total points and giving a high percentage of the pot to the total points winner.
Matchups or points was a debate we have. We wanted the Footballguys Bowl to feel like both a major tournament and your home league. A combination of both is where we landed.
