I finished 3rd. Had I not benched Nabors for Jennings, i would have won it. The toe thing scared me off.Was perfect on the lineup this week, but found 3 bad start/sit calls that showed a path to the title. Of course there are several people who could say that.
All in all, a good year for the ADP Sheriff.

Blah blah blah
I finished 4th in my division, but had enough points to earn a wildcard slot. My team put up great numbers in the playoffs to finish 29th overall. To say I'm pleasantly surprised at my final result is an understatement. It was a great opportunity and a nice little feather in the cap to be a division winner and making it past a cut or two in the elimination rounds. Overall pretty happy with the outcome.
How many other sharks won their division?
2nd in division 0083 but got bounced in the first week of the playoffs. It was a great opportunity and a nice little feather in the cap to be a division winner and making it past a cut or two in the elimination rounds. Overall pretty happy with the outcome.

I know I am way early here, but just wanted to put a bug in your ear. Joey - thanx a ton for running this thing. You did awesome and it was fun playing against other FBG'ers. Sadly, I didn't end up in a league with any Shark Pool regular that I noticed, but still represented and made the playoffs! If this league will have a 2nd season, perhaps you can reserve the first, say 9 divisions for Shark Pool regulars/staff members, but only if they want to be slotted into them? Looking through this entire thread, only 79 folks posted anything before the drafts were complete, and another 24 chimed in midseason. We had 156 divisions last year (1872 entries total), but would it be hard to set aside 9 divisions for Shark Pool regulars in 2025? That would be 108 slots, and you'd be sure to recognize multiple regulars from the pool.
If this is something you could support, I would be glad to offer my assistance.
Early "in!" from me. I was late to the show last year, but would love to get in this year.@Joe Bryant @Joey Wright

The good news is @TheWinz we are already doing exactly that for 2025! We are building a system where managers will be able to select their draft time and league. We still need to test out the system but there will be Shark Pool dedicated leagues for 2025 in the FBG Bowl.@Joe Bryant @Joey Wright

A few of us got into a SharkPool-only league last year (“League Uno” thread in the SharkPool) and it was a total blast to compete again people you “know”. It didn’t hurt that I was one of 4 (I think) Raiders fans in that league, so our names were all familiar to each other from the raiders thread. Big![]()

From following along, I can concur that it was a blast. Also of note, it was pretty soft compared to the random FBG Bowl league.
I'm interested in how this will work.

@Scoresman So I am still currently testing it with our developer. If we proceed with their portal (which has not completely been agreed upon yet), you will choose your desired Shark Pool dedicated league from a dropdown menu. It'll say something like "FBG Bowl League #004 (Shark Pool Only)" The goal for 2025 is not to be manually sending you your invites and allow you to pick your own leagues based on draft time. You'll select the league you desire and the portal will immediately send you your league invite link.
We are working on how best to coordinate this @ScoresmanI'm interested in how this will work.

Cool. I like this, but how does it enforce the "Shark Pool only" rule? I could see lots of people who aren't Shark Pool contributors just joining up. Unless there's a link to the portal only given out here, which could work.
"Shark Pool contributors" is the key definition here!!I'm interested in how this will work.

There are lots of Shark Poolers that only play redraft/contests, so they kinda disappear in early February and don't even visit the site again until early/mid August. Last year, all the drafts were done between Saturday 24 Aug and Tuesday 27 Aug. That's plenty of time for them to see the contest and join up.Cool. As for what determines a "Shark Pool contributor", I could start digging through the threads and compiling a list of folks who posted if that would help?
We could do something like picking teams at recess. We start with Faust, who has to be the "regularest" Shark Pooler ever. The dude has over 122K posts! He then names someone, who names someone, and so on, until 108 regulars have been named. At the risk of sounding like an elitist snob, I'm more concerned about non-Shark Pool regulars joining than the regulars missing the signup. I think the point for a lot of us is to be in a league with other people we recognize from discussions here. Just because someone has a forum account, doesn't make them a contributor.
At the same time, who am I or anyone else to determine what the cutoff line is for a "contributor". If it's very exclusive, some people will be upset. If it's incredibly opened up, it kind of defeats the purpose. So I was more curious how this was going to be determined.
I’d be interested for sureFirst things first - The Footballguys Contest We've Had For Years Will Be Back Again. 2023 thread here. It's super fun and people love it. All good.
I have had lots of people over the years though ask for an additional contest. One where premium subscribers can all be in a tournament. The pool is organized into 12 team leagues and they have a regular draft and then play out the season like a regular fantasy league setting lineups each week and adding players from the waiver wire and playing weekly head to head matchups.
Then playoffs and then a champion is crowned.
Similar to Scott Fish Bowl.
I think it would be a lot of fun and more like "normal fantasy football".
Like the Subscriber Contest, a free entry would be part of the Premium Subscription.

Sounds awesome! Personally, I don't really care if I don't recognize everyone in my division, but a few would be nice. The chat in my division was non-existent last year, and it wasn't loads of fun.I think we are going to reach an easy solution with getting Shark Pool leagues set up for this year in FBG Bowl. Manually setting these leagues up connected to the Footballguys Bowl when the time comes shouldn't take too much extra effort. When we get closer to signups, we will start a signup process here on the Forums.
I did not recognize most in the league last year but it was still a lot of fun. The chat was low in mine too, but maybe this year it might improve now that more people are familiar with Sleeper. Plus it felt good to rank higher than the staff member in the league.Sounds awesome! Personally, I don't really care if I don't recognize everyone in my division, but a few would be nice. I believe Shark Pool Only leagues are a part of Home Leagues as well, but I am not 100% sure. Let me send the coordinator of those contests a message and get back to you.so let me clear something up here since I’m confusing this stuff in multiple threads….
Is the plan for FBG to offer “Shark pool only leagues” in BOTH this FBG Bowl Contest AND in the Home Leagues? (that a dozen of us were lucky enough to get into a last minute pilot of a shark pool home league last year, called League Uno, that had the pinned thread all last season)
