Was there a clock in the movie draft

It makes no difference to me. Im OK with this taking a long time, but if there is a clock, lets start using it imo

 
Should have had 51 categories, come to think of it.  It’s a little unfair to those at the end of the draft order to have an odd number of rounds.

I think we did an hour time limit  monday thru Friday and clock off on weekends

Im no math expert (actually Im pretty dumb in math) but isnt 51 an odd number

i thought the plan was to start the timer today, but we have to remember that timmy is one of those west coast weirdos, so the timer might not start for a little bit.

The final category is GOAT show, which is taken from shows you’ve already drafted - i.e., you don’t actually draft anything in the final category.  Therefore, in a situation with 51 categories, you’d only be drafting in 50 rounds.  As it is now, you’ll only have 49 rounds of actual drafting.

 
I believe we have 50, and then you add your GOAT from one of the 50 for the 51st

I’m a champion, too.  I don’t remember which one, though.   :lmao:  

I know the point was valid, but I felt it was not presented in a positive way (sounded kinda obnoxious).  I’m very tired and stressed and losing my mind a wee bit right now, so I probably shouldn’t be posting at all!

FYI I have a trial this morning. Can monitor for another hour but will be dark from ~8:30 PST - 12:00 PST. AAA has my cell number.

This was a purely trying to win it pick for me. I've only ever watched on Western too (a modern one that I do think is good), but with Gunsmoke's accolades I thought it the best choice as I viewed it as the most "sure thing" #1 left on the board.

Don't disagree. That's why I pulled the trigger on what was the one category that stood out to me as "this one probably should win..."

My dad got me into listening to old time radio, and Gunsmoke a personal favorite, which got me to thinking that maybe it got a certain bump in popularity because it was such a good radio show first.  It ran for 20 years, but I couldn't get into watching it. I don't mean that as a slight to your pick, it's just an idle thought.  FWIW, this was going to be my top western pick as well.

Did we ever discuss what "sports personality" means?  Is it an athlete or someone just connected to sports?

Clock is definitely on ... just that Tim posted about it long enough ago that we lost the thread a bit.

Not really.

To my mind, its definitely NOT an athlete unless that athlete has made a major name for themselves as a television figure. In other words, not merely a famous athlete who was on TV all time because they were a huge name in their sport. No Michael Jordans, or Tiger Woods, etc.

Considered him a ton at the last turn. Was a little concerned that we'd get an under-40 person judging that category, and Cosell's status wouldn't register the same way to them.

I know, I know ... "don't consider the judging"  :D
