I'm trying to think of a way to argue that this isn't a doc.Pick 15.02 - The Last Dance (Category - Documentary)
Instant classic. It may be recent but was extremely well done with an insight into that Bulls team and Jordan that you typically don't get.
@timschochet you are up.
It's not a miniseries?I'm trying to think of a way to argue that this isn't a doc.![]()
I does, doesn't it?I think it would qualify as either

hmmm honest question for both of you (and anyone else)It's not a miniseries?
you got a lot of explaining to do timmay15.03 Ricky Ricardo, leading man, comedy, 1950-1970
Loooocey!!! I’m home.
It's a tricky question, and yes, there's a lot of overlap.I'm trying to think of a way to argue that this isn't a doc.![]()

We took PBS/Ken Burns The Civil War as a documentary
But....could argue it really was a miniseries
I mean it was a nationwide phenomena that people got caught up watching all five parts over and over
Anyway, we were debating where to put it. Ending up taking Lonesome Dove for miniseries
Later moved that to western and took John Adams for miniseries
anyway - is the PBS classic a documentary? or miniseries?
one definition of documentary, offered by Wikipedia
A documentary film is a non-fictional motion-picture intended to "document reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education, or maintaining a historical record.
same source, defining miniseries:
A miniseries (or mini-series) is a television program that tells a story in a predetermined, limited number of episodes. The term "serial" is used in the United Kingdom and in other Commonwealth nations, though its meaning does not necessarily equate to "miniseries" in its usage.
Hush, you.I'm trying to think of a way to argue that this isn't a doc.![]()
It's both and you should be free to put it into which every category you want. Just like My Cousin Vinny is a court room movie and a comedy or T2 is an action movie and a sci-fi movie.hmmm honest question for both of you (and anyone else)

Higgins was skipped yesterday which means he is still a skipI think we don’t start the clock until 10am EST for West Coast folks - not sure where higgins is - unless it’s Hawaii
Snipers. Snipers everywhere!Add me to the list of people who have never heard of Mrs Maisel and I have Amazon Prine. When someone said it won awards, I decided to look at a list of award winners even though I said i wouldn't. This show stuck out to me as good value winning best comedy FIVE years in a row (94, 95, 96, 97 & 98)
Tossed salad and scrambled eggs
15.4 Frazier, comedy 1991-2020
I think we should suspend drafting to encourage folks to get to their precinct to vote todayAcerFC said:Higgins was skipped yesterday which means he is still a skipAAABatteries said:I think we don’t start the clock until 10am EST for West Coast folks - not sure where higgins is - unless it’s Hawaii
Pick away
I went at 6. The line was so long I couldn't waitI think we should suspend drafting to encourage folks to get to their precinct to vote today
I was planning on thatI went at 6. The line was so long I couldn't wait
In my opinion, the draft will give people something to do while they wait on line. Win/Win
don't rush meOdd that both guys on that team have been here and have not picked
And will time out in 9 minutes
sorry commandantOK, they timed out
We've gone to morning/evening picks in the music draft, so no more worrying about draft order there. Today we're doing round 12 (if you didn't get to it yesterday) and round 13 now, and round 14 after 5 PM EST.Skip me if I come up for either draft, please.
PM sent. Nothing else, it will give me a reason not to go in there either.anybody want to shoot me their cell number in a PM?
TripleLayne © needs a backup plan just in case I post something ban-worthy in the PSF today.
(did I mention I got a warning for liking a post? I did. OK.)
AAA is heading off to the wilderness soon and I'm trying really, really hard to not post something stupid, but....it ain't easy.
if anyone is in NYC today for business or tourism, feel free to come by my place to forcibly remove all my devices from the premises.
Literally found it on our list at 10:57 (3 minutes before we timed out) - I'm a little groggy today. Pretty pumped we have Joey Potter on team TripleLayne.
you may want to check out the judge's criteria here. She stated nothing intended for theatrical release, and this was first in theaters.15.08- O.J.-Made in America- Documentary
Winner of 45 awards including the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 89th Academy Awards, this is perhaps the best sports documentary of all time. Lasting 8 hours it is also the longest documentary to ever win an Oscar. With a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and 96 on Metacritics, this ESPN film has universal praise. If you are of a certain age and remember the trial this one hits home. I remember rushing home from class in college and turning on trial nearly every day. So in depth. so enthralling. I didn't want it to end.
@Pitchfork
Ok so do I need to repick?you may want to check out the judge's criteria here. She stated nothing intended for theatrical release, and this was first in theaters.
Dunno. Here's what she said:Ok so do I need to repick?
ok I didn't know it was released in theaters. I watched on ESPN. I will pick again. my apologiesDunno. Here's what she said:
No documentaries intended for Cinematic release are allowed. No news programmes, series, or compilations. The Apollo 11 broadcasts = no. A show on how the broadcasts were done = sure. All of WIld Kingdom = nope. One episode = if you really want to. I kind of get off on Marlin drinking tea in the studio while Jim wrestles a 20 foot boa constrictor. A doc with serveral episodes is cool. It should be limited in nature. It would be better if it had a narrative drive, but it's not mandatory. Burns' Civil War is fine. (Not rendering judgment here.) You don't get all of Rick Steeve's Europe or Andrew Zimmern's Bizarre Foods.
To go back to how all this started, one episode of 30 For 30 might do well. I'm not watching 52 seasons of 60 Minutes.
I'm guessing the Academy Award doesn't help it - it kind of defines that it's a theatrical film, even though it was a 30 for 30 as well.
oh, no apology necessary. I just didn't want to see anyone take a possible 1 on a 15th round pick due to a technicality (not saying it would be a 1 either, just that she laid out the criteria that could disqualify this.)ok I didn't know it was released in theaters. I watched on ESPN. I will pick again. my apologies
