The Inauguration (2 Viewers)

His first act was to violate the Constitutions emolument clause. That happened the second he was sworn in. That is an. Impeachable offense. His second act was to make it more expensive to buy a home. And to think he isn't even going to start trying until Monday.

 You guys reach all day long every single day.  Crazy you're not aware.

I gave you a like for this, but honestly the emolument thing is so far from anything I really care about other than as a means to get a dangerously unqualified guy out of office.  At this point, I would happily take a sane, non-white-nationalist but still corrupt guy over our current president.

:lmao:

I have some memories of those incidents, though not detailed.  Unacceptable then, unacceptable now.  That the one happened is no justification of the other.  It would be nice if we can all find the strength to not try to minimize by stating the other side did it too.  We all get that.  Both sides have plenty of folks with negative marks on their ledgers.  Maybe we can accept and know this truth without seeking refuge therein.  If we could all accomplish this it would go a long way to healing our divides.  If we could stop demonizing the other side it would allow us to converse and find what common ground we all may still share.  From there we can build.  I lament that this will never happen, and if that is the case it is the fault of both sides equally, not one and then the other, sequentially, back to a first cause of fault, but both equally. No one will ever find the first cause of fault.
Yea, I am not a fan of the "but the other side does it too!" argument,  I took the bait and am guilty as charged

Wow, you are sad. I don't know, physically blocking access to the Inauguration? Of people that actually served our country none the less? As I said, sad.
Seems like a fairly normal protest. And protest is most definitely not anti-American.

There's a whole lotta hate going on in here. The left needs to chill and see what happens. The dude's been president for what? 10 hours? Y'all crack me up. That said, I'm hoping he does a great majority of what he said he was going to. I don't expect it, but I sure hope he does.

So that's what the Saudi Sheikh was doing sitting next to Pence.  I must have missed him slipping Trump a check at 12:01.  Slippery fellow.

On #2 - like most liberals you don't care about risk as it won't be you picking up the tab when it all goes to ####.

Well glad to see from the election our country has become sick of your disrespectful view of "normal", time to grow up snowflakes.
I don't think the election was a referendum on protests, but I guess I could be wrong. In which case, thank goodness the Constitution and federal courts still exist.

Yeah, not sure why people suddenly think that having government subsidize mortgages again is a good idea.  Almost as bad as thinking we need to re-deregulate Wall St

And this starts with those of us on the right.  It's easy to spew stuff like this when you're on the outside looking in, but the time to credibly make this argument is when you (sort of) have all three branches of government.  You would, of course.  This post is mainly for other folks.

Knock it off with this ridiculous nonsense. Obama was a state senator, a US Senator and US president for eight years and the right threw around the phrase "community organizer" and talked about Jeremiah Wright and his upbringing and his freaking birth certificate and all sorts of other ridiculous nonsense up until the moment he left the White House. You don't get to hit the reset button on our life when you're elected to office.  Especially when you've lived a life as remarkably sleazy as Trump's.

And in any event, he's done many, many things as president-elect and president that affect the country.

I like the capitalization thing. It really makes me jump back at the sternness of it. I feel your indignation and feel scolded and publicly dressed down. I need to try that sometime.

Nah, dude, I'm just blowing off steam like you are. I've got no beef with you, but I also can't seem to resist chiming in.

No personal criticism of you was intended at all.  You are a good guy.  This is a human condition issue.  We are all susceptible to this shortcoming, myself as much as any and more than many.  I hope you have a great weekend.  I'm heading out to forget for a time recent events.  I intend to thoroughly debase myself.

You need to get out more. Reading your post and now typing this response are about a minute of my life I'll never get back. Pure drivel. No exaggeration.
Don't exaggerate.  You know that took you way longer than 1 minute to read.

:banned: Cheers

Tell you what though, IK is a pretty damn conservative libertarian dude.  Can we hold Trump accountable for his fascist wanna be BS?  Can we investigate the valid ties to Russian gov't his campaign has?  This isn't about liberal vs conservative; President Pence is going to be more conservative.

I'm sorry you consider citing the constitutional restrictions on accepting money a reach. I'm sorry you take no issue with Trump breaking his oath. But then I wasn't expecting much.

And I see Ik kind of pooh poohed it as well. It is actually a very important rule for obvious reasons.

And it is a fact that he added back fees that the FHA had reduced thus making it more expensive to buy a home.

So not real sure where the reach was.

Ridiculous nonsense? Gotcha.

There are some of us that don't consider him as sleazy as others do. That's the problem. Just because you and others think he's a turd doesn't mean everyone does or that he is. I mean he got elected didn't he? I'd say plenty of people either disagree or don't care. So ya, people do need to reset and see what he does as president. Whole different ballgame.

What a great day to be an American!

In celebration of our new President America just got a little greater for me. Bought a new car!

I thought President Trumps speech was OK, but he threw in a little too much religion for my tastes.

But once again another bullseye for the President, if we as a people can embrace patriotism and be Americans first we can unite as a country again.

Overall a top notch inauguration day.
