Gotta love the internal processing where he concedes the constitutional right to protest...
Who says the circus is ending?put up a link when you see one
Well stated by Todd, it was a falsehood.
Don't you mean, "Alternative Facts"?Well stated by Todd, it was a falsehood.
She's not nuts -- she's just playing to a segment of the population to which actual facts are utterly meaningless. She called it the Democratic Senate? What a complete ####### loon
I agree. Chuck has needed that for a long time. She clearly needs a good dicking.
Unfortunately, a lot of posters hereShe's not nuts -- she's just playing to a segment of the population to which actual facts are utterly meaningless.
Wow. This was amazing. If I was a high school teacher or college professor this would be required listening and probably a staple of future coursework.
I just posted this in another thread. It's terrifying. It's like a traveling studio audience. He was giving remarks to the press after meetings at the CIA. It wasn't a speech at some dinner. For him to come to the podium to wild applause, for his staff or whoever it was (it was not the CIA in attendance) to applaud when he says he stands behind the intelligence community is very strange. On top of that is a sitting president having to declare he stands with the CIA worthy of applause? Next is he going to come out and say he thinks our flag is the most beautiful and then have his staff clap and scream?Side note - one other weird or new trend from Trump is his recent tendency to bring a cheering section to his pressers. That happened at the conflict of interest presser and again yesterday at the CIA. He brings a band of staffers who cheer or applaud key punch lines.
Just saw KAC on both This Week and MTP. Wow. This is all out war with the Press. I love it quite honestly. Kelly Ann absolutely destroyed Chuck Todd highlighting all their inconsistencies and bias. She really rammed home the media's false report that the bust of MLK had been removed from the Oval Office. Also loved it when she pointed out that the media only cared about crowd size at the Inauguration and never during the campaign when the crowd sizes at his rallies were hardly ever talked about. George Steph was much more effective against Kelly and I thought she came off badly in that interview.
I wish Spicer and Team Trump picked a better issue to go after the Press on. They had their facts wrong and didn't come off looking good. But I wholeheartedly support their war on the Press and I have no doubt they are not going to relent on this. This is Bannon's doing imo. He has always placed particular emphasis on the imbalance in the media. He views this as an important long term strategic issue for Conservatives. There is a method to the madness here.
Yeah, but then you'd have to deal with the grandchildren of angry FFA posters arguing with you about the librul mediaWow. This was amazing. If I was a high school teacher or college professor this would be required listening and probably a staple of future coursework.

Yeah it's surreal and absolutely bizarre that THIS is what he took from that. Confirms a lot of what some people say about Trump supporters.
Agree 100%. Bad mistake on Spicer's part. Hopefully they'll be more careful going forward or they will lose this battle. The lies Spicer said totally destroyed any anti-media argument Trump may have had.
Of course the media is manipulative.
But if you're pushing a "the media lies" narrative, it's kind of important not to serve up huge and whopping lies on your first day in office. Now Trump needs to move on quickly because he lost this battle big time.
Agree 100%. Bad mistake on Spicer's part. Hopefully they'll be more careful going forward or they will lose this battle.
Disagree. They already know all these reporters inside and out. This was the first shot in one of Bannon's primary strategic objectives. He preached this ad nauseum on his morning radio show for the last year. Thought that Conservatives had done a horrible job letting the media slide so far left. He also railed against the higher education system. They haven't yet gone after this at all yet which I'm surprised at. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pivot to this down the road. This isn't a strategic battle to make the press more accountable. It's more of a loyalty test.
The Wall Street Journal and the National Review on the right, the New York Times and Washington Post on the left, and NPR for a largely centrist view. You're definitely not finding anything worthwhile on TV on either side.where does one go to find unbiased reporting?
The Economist calls it how it is better than other new sources I use.The Wall Street Journal and the National Review on the right, the New York Times and Washington Post on the left, and NPR for a largely centrist view. You're definitely not finding anything worthwhile on TV on either side.
Yeah, should have thrown The Economist in there too.The Economist calls it how it is better than other new sources I use.

Good list...NPR is perhaps my most consumed source...easy to listen to while on the move. The Wall Street Journal and the National Review on the right, the New York Times and Washington Post on the left, and NPR for a largely centrist view. You're definitely not finding anything worthwhile on TV on either side.
And to Congressional Republicans too. Are they going to allow Trump to get away with this or not? It's not a loyalty test for the media. It's a loyalty test for you.
The loyal are not those who let him get away with it. They're the ones who believe him.And to Congressional Republicans too. Are they going to allow Trump to get away with this or not?
Well they might, but we won't stop. Not going to stop pointing out falsehoods, abject lies, and clown behavior because you're sick of hearing about it.
You really can't say, "Hillary lost, get over it" for four years. At some point you need to address this sorry excuse for a human.
O/U has to be 10+Wild Bill had 5 press secretaries. W had 4 press secretaries. Obama had 4 press secretaries. How many do you think Trump will have?
What do you mean? I clearly said that Spicer had his facts wrong, came off looking badly, and made a big mistake. Not sure how you missed all that.Just some thoughts:
- The conversation with Trump fans has gotten better here. This is way better than the mudfest that was going on at times in the summer and winter.
- Trump fans should be encouraged to speak, it's important that Trump critics hear what they're saying. So maybe we can get some insights.
- And having said that this is what I get out of the above: Trump supporters will and probably do love what Trump, Spicer & KAC have done over the last two days. But there are two different things going on - Truth and Distortion of the Truth.
I mean, Higgs, IMO, you're just proving the anti-Trump point here. You may not be aware of it, but the point is that truth and facts are being rendered meaningless, even dangerous to the president, and thus there is now a war on the very reporting of those facts and the process of it, and his supporters love that.
To me this is very simple Kung Fu, you have brought the full weight of the Trump/Spicer/Preibus/KAC onslaught and yeah, I accept all of what you have as true - to you and Trump supporters - and to me it's damning, not absolving of what is happening.
It was not a mistake. What do you mean? I clearly said that Spicer had his facts wrong, came off looking badly, and made a big mistake. Not sure how you missed all that.
The Press has misrepresenting facts with little accountability for many years now. The MLK bust being removed from the White House is a perfect example. That story, and the retraction, got little to no play on MSNBC and CNN. But Spicer misrepresents something much less important - crowd size - and it's 24x7 coverage. Watch the MTP interview today with KAC. When she brings up the MLK bust Chuck Todd immediately dismisses it. Good for Kelly Ann refusing to let that issue go as he tried to bully her back to his narrative.
Nobody has ever stood up to the Press like this. And yes, a lot of us on the Right absolutely love it. Once again, though, that doesn't excuse Spicer's misrepresentation of the facts yesterday. I'm hoping that was a mistake and not intentional.
Standing up the press = making #### up. GotchaWhat do you mean? I clearly said that Spicer had his facts wrong, came off looking badly, and made a big mistake. Not sure how you missed all that.

I don't recall hearing much banter about McCain or Romney after their elections. For bettter or worse Trump is the man now.Not going to stop pointing out falsehoods, abject lies, and clown behavior because you're sick of hearing about it.

I'd take the under. IMO, its more about the Press Secretary's ability to remain sane, than DJT's hand. Unlike his role on Celeb Appren, he actually hates firing people and is highly loyal to those he believes are loyal.O/U has to be 10+Wild Bill had 5 press secretaries. W had 4 press secretaries. You totally took the bait and intended distraction on the MLK bust story as equivalent. I think he might run through a few quickly, but eventually someone will stick around because they need 2 years of material for the book. I have to assume that's the only reason someone would do that job.I'd take the under. IMO, its more about the Press Secretary's ability to remain sane, than DJT's hand. If KAC can remain sane, I believe she may have a very long tenure.
EDIT: Oops...Spicer I mean, but KAC's position is nearly the same imo.
