Where does RG3 end up?

bump. Any more opinions on this debate now that we've seen them in "live" action. I will be able to lock up one of these guys for 4 years in a modified dynasty league and am really struggling with which one to choose. Probably can't go wrong either way but would like to hear more opinions.
I'd take Luck. Don't overthink it. Nobody ever, in the whole process, thought RG3 was better including himself. Remember him not going to Indy for a workout because it was just a sham anyway? Take the guy named Luck, that wears the horseshoe on his helmet.
is this sarcasm? I can't imagine RGIII would say Luck was better. I seem to recall a few NFL people liking RGIII more but the majority liked Luck.
No it isn't sarcasm. Remember when Irsay wanted to meet with RG3 but he wouldn't go? Here is a link. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/jim-irsay-robert-griffin-III-declined-invitation-to-work-out-for-indianapolis-colts-040312

For what it's worth I think both of these guys are the extreme real deal. I can easily see multiple pro-bowls for each one. By virtue of style, I think Luck will stick around longer, which I suppose makes him the better dynasty option. However, RGIII's style will win him more fantasy points early on until he gets banged up and is forced to be a pure pocket passer, which I think he's perfectly capable of. My money is on Luck, but I really don't think you can go wrong with either one of these guys.

I wonder how much truth there is in this. I think a lot of people look at RGIII and expect him to be like Cam Newton in the NFL. He's a great athlete, but he's not as effective running the ball and not as big. I don't know that he's going to have the added value from rushing that people expect. If you look around the NFL, the best QBs from year to year are the guys who throw the best. Brees, Brady, Peyton, Rodgers. With that being the case, I think it's a mistake to assume that RGIII has a higher upside than Luck. Ultimately, it will come down to who is the better passer.

You have a valid point, and I am, in part, basing it off of Cam Newton's performance last year. I just think RGIII's running ability will get him some higher fantasy stats that other pocket qb's won't have. By the way, he can throw the ball very well, too. It's not like he's Kordell Stewart or Tim Tebow who can pretty much only run. I stand by my opinion that RGIII has the early edge but his playing style will drag him down a bit later on. Luck I see as consistent and long term.

Luck explains why he makes fewer ads than RG3

Around The League editor

Robert Griffin is everywhere. He's in national ads for Adidas, Subway, and Gatorade. There is a 74-foot tall image of Griffin looming over Washington D.C.

Even the Redskins have got into the act, printing t-shirts of Griffin and Andrew Luck for this Saturday's rookie "QB showdown."

While Griffin is everywhere, Andrew Luck is in Indianapolis. Luck chose not to pursue national marketing opportunities before his rookie season. His profile will also be lower because the Colts will only be featured on national television one time all season. The Redskins are consistently a good national draw.

Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star wrote about Luck's choice to eschew some early cash, and we echo his point that there is no right way to "market" yourself. Both players should do whatever they want. Luck put it well:

"I really didn't have much time," Luck said. "And I wanted to make sure I had time to handle the stuff that mattered, whether it was moving into an apartment, finishing school or learning the playbook. There was so much going on, I figured the less time I spent promoting myself or doing ads, the better for me. I figured I'd wait and hopefully, at some point, a big fish will come along.'

"And really, to each his own. I don't necessarily think my way is the right way. It's what's best for each person. It's fun to see Robert capitalizing on his situation."

The rookie wage scale lowered Luck's first contract, but it's not like the guyis starving.

"I'm living fine right now. I'll focus now on football and maybe after the season is over, we'll pursue some other opportunities, maybe something in the Silicon Valley. But for now, the time isn't right."

As preseason games go, Saturday's Redskins-Colts showdown is tough to top. It will be even better when the two face off in a game that counts. By then, we're sure Luck will be in plenty of ads.

Finishing school doesn't really matter. I laugh at these jocks who put such importance on it. Like he's going to make 10m being an accountant or whatever. I'd argue that RG3 has the right of it, making exponentially more money doing ads and photoshoots than he ever could if he pursued a job in his chosen field of endeavor.

He's just making excuses. It's not about time. He just doesn't like being the center of attention and probably finds the whole athlete worship thing kind of ridiculous.

He probably just threw that in as a throw away line (you know, like moving into a freaking apartment) so that his criticism of RB3 was softened a bit.Otherwise, he'd just be saying he wasn't doing ads because he was focused on playing football. I'd imagine that's what he meant, but it's nice of him to soften it up a bit. It's hard to call someone a lazy attention-whore without making it sound bad, but Luck did an admirable job of it.
