The trades you've made this week...and why? (1 Viewer)

Muhammad for Saints d.

My other d is on a bye, there are no good options on the wire and I have so much depth at WR/TE that I couldn't envision a scenario where Moose breaks my lineup. Even if I had injuries to 2 of my WRs/TEs, I'd be ok.

I'm hoping that the Saints continue their good play at home.

I needed a QB since Favre and Frye are on bye and CPep sucks ### and I dropped him. I traded SJax and Harrison for LJ and Kitna. LJ is an upgrade over SJax. I felt I could give up Harrison because I have RegBrown, Burress, Deuce, and Maroney to alternate in at his position.

16 team dynasty league.

gave:

Jamal Lewis

got:

2008 1st round rookie pick

why:

anyone who has lewis or has seen him run knows why.

Gore for CJ :bag: :bag:

Other backs are Rudi, SJax, McGahee and DeShaun. Needed a plug-and-play WR for every week. Think I made the right decision.

3 trades this week:

#1 - Noah Herron, 2007 3rd rounder, 2008 2nd rounder for Tiki Barber

#2 - Alex Smith, Arnaz Battle for Jake Delhomme, 2007 5th rounder

#3 - Warrick Dunn for Marvin Harrison

Why:

#1 - Need a strong 2nd RB behind LT (Dunn wasn't cutting it)

#2 - Need a strong backup QB behind Brees that doesn't have the same bye

#3 - Harrison will serve as my 3rd WR behind Darrell Jackson and Terrell Owens

16 team league

Currently 1-4

Leaves me with a team of:

QB: Brees, Delhomme, Brooks

RB: Tomlinson, Barber, Norwood, Turner

WR: DJackson, Owens, Harrison, Furrey, Heap, Engram, S Parker, Hagan, Gabriel

K: Akers

D: Steelers

12 team Dynasty. No PPR. Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1FX

Trade 1

I traded Favre, Chris Brown, Travis Henry, and my 2007 1st and 2nd for Cedric Benson and Thomas Jones.

The other owner desperately needed a QB having only plummer and warner. I loved getting rid of the headache that is the TEN backfield. I felt I am getting 1 RB this year and 2 RBs next year by getting benson and jones. I think jones will not be with CHI next season, but will be a starting RB somewhere. My other QBs were Grossman and Hasselbeck. His other RBs were LT, Caddy, Ahman Green.

Trade 2

Different league but same format I gave Tiki Barber and a 2007 4th for Maurice Jones-Drew and a 2007 2nd.

I am at 1-5 in this league and not likely to make the playoffs. I felt it very likely that tiki retires after this season, so I wanted to get something for him while I could. The team that traded for Tiki can make the playoffs but he is at the bottom of his division with a 3-3 record.

14 team re-draft

Other owner had SJax and FWP, but no one else (starting L Washington this week), so I took a shot - and it worked!

Gave McGahee and Maroney (my RB4)

and

Got FWP and Betts (to b/u Portis)

:highwayrobbery: w/ BUF on a bye next week and FWP had his already.

12 team Dynasty; made two trades:

I give Leon Washington & 2nd rounder 2007 (most likely first overall) for D.Foster

I give J.Stevens for R.Smith :bag: -- my WR's suck, so Smith was an upgrade :o

BIG WEEK OF TRADING

12 team Dynasty league PPR start 1QB-2RB-3WR 1flex RB/WR 1TE 1K 1D - I took over a bad team so I am out of the running this year and attempting to build for next year and beyond.

Trade 1

gave:

RB Michael Robinson SFO

RB Frank Gore SFO

TE Jason Witten DAL

got:

RB Willis McGahee BUF

RB Corey Dillon NEP

TE Vernon Davis SFO

I really wanted Davis - So I figured that McGahee and Gore were fairly close and Dillon I could trade to upgrade for next year

Trade #2

gave :

QB Jason Campbell WAS

RB Willis McGahee BUF

RB Corey Dillon NEP

WR Braylon Edwards CLE

DT Chicago Bears CHI

got :

RB Justin Fargas OAK

RB LaMont Jordan OAK

RB Jerious Norwood ATL

WR Randy Moss OAK

DT Pittsburgh Steelers PIT

I like Norwood and I figured that Jordan and Moss are both undervalued right now. I like Jordan for his reception total last year and I hope he will have a good comeback year next year. I didn't like giving up Edwards but I did think Moss was an upgrade.

trade #3

gave :

RB DeShaun Foster CAR

WR Randy Moss OAK

got :

RB Michael Turner SDC

WR Larry Fitzgerald ARI

I was working on a trade with this team prior to the trade #2 happening. There is so much buzz about Turner and what may happen this offseason I figured that upgrading from Moss to Fitz was worth taking a chance on Turner for next year. I hope Turner is in a better position than Deshaun but Deshaun is still young and a starting RB so that might not happen.

I think I am almost done with my rebuilding and hope this team comes around for next year. I have good depth at RB but need some of these guys to get into a starting role for me to compete next year. I could use some WR help but that will be easier to come by next year. I also have 2 1st round picks for next year.

QB Rex Grossman CHI

QB Byron Leftwich JAC

QB Vince Young TEN

RB Laurence Maroney NEP

RB LaMont Jordan OAK

RB Jerious Norwood ATL

RB Wali Lundy HOU

RB Michael Turner SDC

RB Musa Smith BAL

RB Kevan Barlow NYJ

RB Justin Fargas OAK

WR Larry Fitzgerald ARI

WR Antonio Bryant SFO

WR Bryant Johnson ARI

WR Drew Bennett TEN

WR Drew Carter CAR

WR Jerry Porter OAK

TE Vernon Davis SFO

TE Marcedes Lewis JAC

TE Jerramy Stevens SEA

PK Mike Vanderjagt DAL

DT Pittsburgh Steelers PIT

Team before I traded:

QB: Bulgar, Favre, Pennington

RB: Ronnie Brown, Chestor Taylor, Lawrence Maroney, MBIII, Chris Perry

WR: Torry Holt, Lee Evans, Jennings, Braylon Edwards, Santana Moss

TE: Gates

D: NYG

K: Gould

I'm in a PPR league

The guy I traded with had Hasselback and Brunell. He's got solid WR's but needed a QB. I traded him Mark Bulgar for Reggie Wayne. The reason I made this trade was b/c of the Rams upcoming schedule which is brutal. Bulgar is also very injury prone as he has not played a full season in three years. I've watched his games this year and he is still taking a lot of hits. I also got tired of having Bulgar and Holt on the same team, even though they blew up two weeks ago. I feel right now is the perfect time to get rid of Bulgar.

Thoughts?

Prior to last Sunday 16 team dynasty with IDP and contracts

Traded 2007 1st round pick and 4th (I had 3 4th round picks) and Bledsoe for

Alex Smith (now my QB's are Smith and Frye and T Green) I knew that Bledsoe would be gone by the end of this year if not before so I needed a young QB option in my rebuilding.

This week 12 team Zealot league

I traded Romo for Ahmad Brooks (my other QB's are Manning and Pennington) I am rebuilding the defense to a younger higher upside potential and Brooks was one of my targets. I didn't need Romo.

I like both trades for me

I'm at 14-0 (we play doubleheaders) and just pulled off a biggie– Alex Smith, Chester Taylor, Leon Wash, Kevan Barlow & Dallas Clark for Jake Plummer, Reggie Bush, Deshaun Foster, Deangelo Williams & Antonio Gates.

10 team redraft league that starts 20 QB's & 30 RB's a week.

Smith was my QB3 behind starters P. Manning/McNabb.

Gambled that Taylor & Was were serious sell-high guys after Sunday. Rationale was would have doen this deal 12:55 last Sunday, one game shouldn't change my thinking. Praying Gates will be worth it.

Traded Jennings for Delhomme in a 6 keeper league because I had Hass go down. My only other QB was Grossman, and I don't feel comfortable with him. My other WR's are Holt, R. Moss, Reggie Brown, Galloway.

I'm 0-7 in my 2 man keeper league so I dealt:

Marvin Harrison and Michael Turner

for

Lawrence Maroney and Deion Branch

Building for next year.

I tried trading K. Jones and R. Johson and C. Perry for LT and Turner.

The guy turned me down. He has no other RB except for a bunch of back ups. I have Portis.

10 team re-draft- start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr,1te, 1k, 1d/st. no ppr

I traded Deuce McAllister for Terrell Owens. My rb's are now Tiki, Westbrook, Maroney and Chris Perry. My wr are TO, Chad Johnson, Driver, D. Mason, Welker and Matt Jones.

Last Sunday I pulled the trigger on trading away DeShaun Foster for Heinz Ward. I initiated the trade talks, he offered Ward to me a week prior and I sat on the offer until I saw that Ward looked really healthy and involved (8/171/3) and finally pulled the trigger. We've got league owner trade veto so if 4 of the 10 had veto'd the trade wouldn't have gone through.

I pulled the trigger after I saw Ben go down and saw Batch still favor Ward. Looks like a good deal for me but you never, never know. I'm probably the biggest trader in my league and love the way it kicks it up a notch for me. Otherwise, it gets a little stale just playing the same guys and trying to beat guys to free agents.

The biggest reason I like fantasy football is having bragging rights with my buddies. The best way to do that during the season is by negotiating a deal that turns out better for me than it does for them. Not that the deal has to include the lose for them but it has to at least help me.

I traded Hines Ward and Keith Brooking for 2007 1st and 3rd round picks this week. Ward is my 4th WR so I felt comfortable in moving him.

The guy I just traded with in my 13 team league had Michael Turner, Kevan Barlow, Edge, and Correl Buckhalter for his RBs.

Traded him Wali Lundy and Chad Johnson for Torry Holt. I still have Portis, T.Bell, A.Green and T.Henry for RB's (start 2). I now have a receiving core of Holt, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Smith (start 3). I am :D

I just traded Bush, Coles & Colston for Lendale White, Owens & Braylon Edwards in a 12 team redraft league. Colston was my WR4 and not being used regularly, so the net result was upgrading to Owens in my starting lineup instead of Coles. I now have Holt, Owens & Driver as my 3 WRs. It left me thin at RB (SJax, LWashington, CPerry, Rhodes & White) but I think it was worth it. I think Washington will be as good or better an RB2 as Bush from here on out.

Traded Brad Johnson and received Steve McNair and Braylon Edwards, the other team needed a QB and McNair will be my 3rd qb and I got some depth at WR.

Total Cap $300 initial year in the league.

Deal #1. We start 3 WRs and I had Larry Fitzgerald $31, Hines Ward$23, Reggie Wayne $22, Roy Williams, Michael Clayton $12, Brandon Marshall ® $8 , Bryant Johnson $5 and Mark Clayton $3. I also had Keith Brooking at LB @ $15 who I considered expendable.

I dealt Ward and Brookings for a 1st and 3rd next year.

Deal #2 Start 1 QB I had Brady $38, Grossman $1, Pennington $1, Jason Campbell $5 , Jay Cutler ® $10.

I traded Brady and my 3rd round pick for Ed Reed and a 1st next year.

Both of the first round picks I got I expect to be mid round picks. Please let me know how you think I did.

TIA.

I think the first trade is about even with the advantage to you being that you were able to get rid of wards cap. I am in the same situation in one league. Ward has a higher salary than steve smith (I inherited the team though). In the second trade, you sold brady low and I am not a fan of reed so I don't like the trade for you as much. That being said, you have alot of QB depth and brady had a fairly high salary so that probly helps to get rid of.

Thanks, I was in a buying mode of first round picks and after these 2 trades I now have 4 first round picks that I expect to be between picks 4-9 of a 12 team draft. I am pretty weak at rb so hoping that these deals will enable me to address that in the off-season. I appreciate the feedback.

I traded Rhodes/Stallworth for T.Jones/M.Jones.

- I think T.Jones continues to get the majority of carries. Great buy low.

- Rhodes will continue to slpit carries 50/50.

- Stallworth will never be healthier than he is right now (i.e. he'll be hurt again next week)

- M.Jones will be WR 1b when he gets back.

I traded Ronnie Brown and Larry Fitz for Cedric Benson (keeper eligible for a 7th round pic), Chester Taylor and a 7th round pick

I just traded LJ, Furrey, Bryant Johnson, 4th to get Rudi, Perry, Walker, Winslow, 1st.

I needed WR, and TE help in a bad way.

what I would do is try to move 2 of your first round picks or a first & second to move up higher in the rookie draft. You really want a pick in the top 2-3 in order to guarantee you get a top RB prospect. This is just my opinion though, the first 3 picks usually fetch a premium like they have the last 2 years (2005: caddy, brown, benson 2006: bush, maroney, williams 2007: adrian peterson, marshawn lynch?, kenny irons?)

This leagues rookie draft this past year was very odd in that I got Maroney with the 7th overall rookie pick. I agree though I will likely look at moving up as much as I can (offering 2 of my first round picks to do so) and then hope to get Calvin Johnson and something else with the other first round picks.

12 Team Dynasty

Traded Reggie Brown for Larry Fitzgerald.

Ya gotta love the coupling of an injured hamstring and a desperate owner.

hmmm...maybe it's Jones who doesn't recover and Stallworth who excels down the stretch.Guess it depends on which side of the trade you're looking from.

in the last few weeks I traded Deuce for TO, Boldin for Tiki.

Keeper league and I realize I probably wont get to keep Tiki..

but now I can go

Vick

Tiki

Westbrook

Gore (bush on bench)

TO, Walker/jennings

Alge

etc. Trying to win this year.

LT and Joey Galloway for Shaun Alexander, Marvin Harrison, Larry Fitzgerald. (my record is 2-4.. needed help)

And then Frank Gore and Chris Chambers for Randy Moss and Darrell Jackson.

So now my starting RBs and WRs are:

RB (start 3): LT, Kevin Jones, Chester Taylor, Tatum Bell, Leon Washington

WR (start 4): Randy Moss, Darrell Jackson, Joey Galloway, Lee Evans, Amani Toomer, Joe Horn, Drew Bennett

Still trying to trade Tatum or Leon for better WRs like Donald Driver, Roy Williams, Hines Ward.. but I've been counteroffered with trades like 'Kevin Jones for Donald Driver' which I'm not willing to accept.

Last night I gave up Walli and Watson for Jones-Drew and Heap. Watson had been my starter all year. Had picked up Lundy the week before off waivers. Still able to start Caddy, SJax and Taylor (With Maroney in reserve) in a league with PPR and touches counting. May have given up too much, but Watson has been disappionting this year. Getting Drew does lock up Jax RB as well.

I was hurting for a DB when Michael Lewis got a seat on the pine so I made a trade with a team that is rebuilding.

Traded WR Roddy White & 3rd RD pick and some cash for DB Antoine Winfield and 4th rd pick

Dyansty, full IDP...pts per recption:

Gave:

Lamont Jordan

Justin Fargas

Shaun Rogers

Lemar MArshall

Got:

Tiki Barber

M. Moore (I have C. Taylor)

J. Trotter

I won title last year, making push to try to win it two years in a row. Logn way to go, but at least I get tiki for the push and keep him from going to a competitor.

Dynasty League - Keep Everyone.

I just traded

W. McGahee

S. Moss

for

T. Holt

2nd Rounder pick in 2007

I feel like I am sticking my neck out - but hopefully Holt will be a top 5 WR for another 4 years and he hopefully gives me the boost I need to win it all this year. I just pray that one of my GB RB or Thomas Jones will be able to serve as my #3 RB next year and that K. Jones is the real deal. Otherwise I am dead.

LOL, the enigma better known as Champ in i2. Forever sought after, forever unattainable.
