Yes, I am not a mcgahee fan but I like the trade. Here is why:HOU passing offense is just not that impressive, leading to more 8 man fronts.I just traded away Dom Davis and received Willis McGahee straight up, in a keeper league. Good trade?
Don't do it... Griese and McNair are very, very servicable and if you play matchups right should equal or outperform Culpepper... Steve Smith is way too big of a loss!I'm contemplating dealing Griese and Steve Smith for Culpepper and a throw in WR (Randle El, G.Lewis). Other QB currently is McNair. WRs are CJohnson, TTaylor, Ferguson, Meshawn. Yeah the hit losing Smith is tough, but the chance to get Culpepper at his low point is very enticing and I think 2 of the other WRs I have or get off waivers will be serviceable.
Just heard from an owner that a trade involving:
T.O.
For
Bell
Roethlisberger
Baltimore D
is in the works. That should have some people pretty damned crabby.
And how'd you get that team exactly? Several rip off trades? In my main league, I made a huge trade, and all for one player. Most would think I got screwed over, but I have my reasons. This is a dynasty, TD-only league BTW. I ended up trading Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Smith, my 2005 1st rounder (which was the 1.12 pick since I won it all last year), and my 2006 1st rounder for Chad Johnson.
Gave up a lot, huh? Well, when I already have McNabb, Tomlinson, Portis, R Moss, Holt, and Owens on my team, trading some players that will not get much PT on my team for one of the top WRs seemed pretty good. I had drafted Bennett as a rookie, and was continuously frustrated with his injuries so I had had it with him. Jimmy Smith hurts a bit, as he is good for probably 6-8 TDs/year, but he's 36 years old and not getting any younger. Dunn hurts as well, but I got him super cheap last year, and with the Duckett factor, it's hard to predict what he'll do. The 1st rounders hurt as it hurts my chances of getting one of the better rookies this year and next. But again, I was happier consolidating...
Im sorry, but trading Harrison for Anderson is ridiculously dumb.Yes, he is starting off slow, but guess what? So is Mike Anderson. You should be able to do much better that MA for MH. I would think...With only Barber,Bell and K. Jones in the backfield(traded FWP for P. Manning last wee) I am trading Harrison for M. Anderson. Will leave me with Horn, Mike Clayton, T. Taylor and Troy Williamson as WR's.
Lets see what happens?
What if I just bumped this and changed the title? (note: I haven't bumped it all year). The reason I like it all in one thread is because you can look back not just on this week, but on how values have changed in the average player's mind across the season, all in one thread. It would be great if this topic was regenerated every week. i.e. Trades occurring in your league - Week 4.....
Everyone could then post all of the trades that go down in their leagues givingn the rest of us a good idea as to what value we could expect to get from our players.
Starting the topic new every week would help to keep the topic fresh and current.

I've changed the title. That should be enough...there's no reason to have more than one thread on this...let's not make the mods too angry today. You have a point. But, do you not think it is interesting to see the past trades and how the players' values fluctuate?

No, you're right. And now, there's two threads on this...one an exact copy of this one.I bumped this twice, I think, because I like to get a feel for values and how they change from week to week. Am I alone on this?
That's not what this thread is for.If you're looking for that, go to the Assistant Coach forum...or check the thread in my signature.Would u give FWP and Plummer or TGreen for Collins and FTaylor??
I don't want to step on any toes Keys. It was just getting to be too much to scroll through all of the pages looking for current information. The deeper we get into the season, the more it's going to be, and this thread was starting to fill up with a lot of 'fluff'.If you want me to delete the other thread, or if you would like to handle a weekly thread, please let me know and I'll gladly do so.No, you're right. And now, there's two threads on this...one an exact copy of this one.I bumped this twice, I think, because I like to get a feel for values and how they change from week to week. Fantastic.
Hah.Stepping on toes? I could care less whether it's my thread, your thread, or my Aunt Maia's thread.I don't want to step on any toes Keys. I just proposed Fast Willie Parker (me giving up FWP) for Jamal Lewis. What's nuts is, I'm a Ravens homer, and I'm still not convinced that this would be a good deal this season.I just made a trade today.
12 team 4 player keeper league
I sent L. Coles and Willie Parker and a fifth round pick
for
Torry Holt and L. Gordan
So my wide outs are Holt, D. Jackson and Fitz. I am hoping this puts me over the top
AC
Whoa.Is Wayne's value that low right now?I just made this trade like 5 mins ago.
Gave:
Reggie Wayne & Chris Brown
Got:
Keenan McCardell & Rod Smith
Before the trade:
rb's:
Westbrook, Edge, Thomas Jones, Mike Anderson, Chris Perry, Chris Brown
wr's:
Holt, Wayne, Kennison, Lloyd, Rogers
After:
Westbrook, Edge, Thomas JOnes, Mike Anderson, Chris Perry
Holt, McCardell, Rod Smith, Kennison, Lloyd, Rogers
This trade really makes me a more balanced team.
I had high hopes for Wayne, but I can't wait no longer on him.
I need points.
Before the trade, he had at wr:
Steve Smith, Rod Smith, McCardell, Boldin, Bruce
rb:
Ahman Green, Portis, Barlow, Droughns, Willie Parker, Travis Henry
Wow.Nice job.12 team TD Only league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 K:
I traded: Stephen Davis
I received: Joe Horn
I already have SA, Ahman Green, Larry Johnson, and Deshaun Foster at RB so I thought it was a good deal.
Yeah, funny thing is everyone in my league says the other guy ripped me off! I guess since his RB's were Marcel Shipp, Tatum Bell, Portis, Moats, & Suggs than thats how it goes.Wow.Nice job.12 team TD Only league. Meh, it's okay.People were giving me crap before the season when I traded Barlow/Wayne for C. Johnson...then again after I traded W. Parker for Bulger after week 2.Yeah, funny thing is everyone in my league says the other guy ripped me off!
