71 year old man shoots son fleeing on riding lawn mower

Apparently, lawn mowers aren't the best getaway vehicles.

A 71-year-old Florida man shot his son during a family argument after the 32-year-old tried to flee from the feud on a riding lawn mower.

Marshall H. Harmon was arrested in Escambia County Friday night.

When the Florida father began arguing with his son, the younger Harmon jumped on a riding lawn mower to escape the verbal fight.

The son took off down a county road, But Harmon got in his pickup truck and chased after him, police said.

Harmon caught up to the lawn mower and fired two shots toward it, police said.

One of the bullets hit the son's neck. He was taken to a hospital but is expected to be OK.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Police say a Boynton Beach man argued with his girlfriend over women's rights, then violently attacked her rabbit when she said she wanted to end the relationship.

Boynton Beach police responded to the 1000 block of Lake Terrace at 11:38 p.m. Friday for a report of a disturbance. According to an arrest report, when the woman retreated to a bedroom to end the argument she heard a high-pitched screaming coming from the apartment's living room. She told police she went to the living room and saw her boyfriend James W. Wertz, 28, abusing her pet rabbit by squeezing and punching it. She said he was hitting the rabbit so hard that blood was coming from its face.

I think the average riding mower goes about 5-10mph. I know the guy is 71, but even he should have been able to keep up.

Couple videotaped having sex in broad daylight on Bradenton Beach in front of dozens of people including children.

LOL

"They laid on the beach and passed out for hours," The grandmother said. "We thought they were dead, but when they woke up, they cuddled for a while, then started into the same thing they did before."
I like how everyone was so outraged they watched for 25 minutes and waited until round 2 to call the police.

A Florida wife was rescued from a remote sandbar wearing nothing but a lifejacket on Sunday after her husband dumped her there following a blazing drunken row on their jet ski.

The violent argument was sparked by Pamela Doster, 45, accusing her husband of two-years, David Doster, 49, of engaging in a sex act with another man.

Pulled from the Passage Key sands - a famous offshore nudist beach popular with swingers - by boat, Pamela Doster's testimony led to the arrest of her husband for domestic battery.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's report, Doster and his wife Pamela were on a Sea-Doo jet ski near to the Passage Key sandbar when they began fighting.

According to the report, Pamela told her husband that she had seen him and another man performing oral sex on one another.

The report does not specify when and where this occurred, but the arresting officer said that Pamela claimed it involved the men 'giving each other a blow job'.

The report seen by Smoking Gun states that Doster, who was riding the Sea-Doo, threw his wife off the jet ski four times and 'During the last time she was pulled off she hit her head against the side of the jet ski.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

There was a blackout Tuesday night at the St. Johns Town Center.

JEA told News4Jax that a snake caused the blackout that left stores in the dark and also caused traffic lights in the area to go out.

JEA officials said a snake got into a transformer and knocked power out for over an hour Tuesday night.

Some of the stores in the Town Center closed early because of the outage.

Power was back on to the entire shopping plaza by 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This one is sad, only in Florida though..

Here is a blurb; David Courson has been charged with manslaughter for death of daughter Rebecca Courson. An unrelated girl, 13, was moving Courson’s truck when car went into reverse instead of drive. The father and the driver both reeked of booze. A bag of weed was later found in truck.

Remember this one? His sentencing just came out. 15 years. 15 years for killing his kid, having sex with a 13 yo, and something about phone texts. It's really 15 years per count, to be served concurrently, but that is stupid. 15 years. Unbelievable.

They told her that they had been held hostage for several hours, and that one of them had been shot, another stabbed. The postal employee called 911, and police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene.

When police arrived, the trio told them that the intruders holding them hostage were holed up in the building’s ground floor, where they had retreated after one of three residents ripped a toilet from the wall and threw it out the window at their captors.

After assessing the situation, authorities determined that ground floor was unoccupied — and that McDaniel, Hines, and Douglas had hallucinated the home invasion and had injured themselves while fending off intruders who didn’t exist.

What did exist, police say, was a methamphetamine laboratory, as well as evidence that the trio had consumed some of the product they were manufacturing.

A week or two ago, I stood on my balcony in my boxers and watched an Atlas V rocket launch from about 15 miles away and tower majestically over the Atlantic Ocean while hundreds of people camped out on the beach with coolers cheered and whistled. That only happens in Florida.
:bs: I'm pretty sure people stand on balconies in their boxers in other states, too.
I never thought that way but I guess actually wearing the boxers is also an option

Ok, I have a question whose answer I'm afraid of, but -

Instead of a burglar, officers spotted the siblings walking down the road. While Savoy said he was just taking his sister home, officials allegedly determined that the two had sex in a Kenworth tractor-trailer parked in the nearby parking lot of Countryside Baptist Church.
How did they determine this? Was his unit still stuck in her pooper and they were more shuffling home than walking?

Some questions are better left unanswered...

Not quite understanding the outrage as long as they're allowing you to opt out (which they are).

There's a program coming back to life in Duval County schools to teach kids about gun safety. It's called the Eddie Eagle Gunsafe Program and it's designed to improve safety on school campuses and help minimize threats of school shootings.

But the program is sponsored by the National Rifle Association, and that has one local parent upset.

The parent, who has a third-grader at Hendricks Avenue Elementary School, received a letter sent home from the school allowing parents to opt their children out of the Eddie Eagle program.

That parent was upset, however, because the letter mentions nothing about the NRA.

“In some parts of our country we haven't figured out if we should be teaching evolution,” the parent said. “You can't say 'Christmas' in public school, but you can bring in the NRA without letting us know. That doesn't sound right.”

Duval County Schools Superintendent Nikolai Vitti said he understands the NRA can be a controversial organization, but he hopes parents can look past that, adding that the program is helping to protect the children of Duval County.

“Partnering with the NRA can certainly be perceived as being controversial, but at the end of the day if the NRA is able to provide resources to build young children's understanding of the proper use of guns, how to alert an adult when they’re present,” Vitti said.

The program encourages children to stop when they see a gun, not to touch it and to leave the area and tell an adult right away. Vitti said the district hopes utilizing the program will help prevent tragedies that start by children playing with guns.

“A lot of kids are growing up with guns present in their lives, and they don't know how to positively and preemptively deal with that,” Vitti said. “Unfortunately since I've been here, I've seen kids perish because of that.”

Vitti said the program was started in Duval County before he became superintendent, but it was beginning to be overlooked. He felt it was necessary to bring it back to life after experiencing children in his district dying or being hurt after playing with guns. One such case was the death of 13-year-old Titania Mitchell, who was accidentally shot and killed when an 11-year-old was playing with a gun in April 2013.

“We're informing students when they see a gun to walk away and to tell an adult,” Vitti said. “Never play (with) or touch one and alert an adult if they see a gun, or if another child has a gun, leave immediately and tell an adult, but in no way are guns OK to play with.”

Blaming Slender Man is a trend lately and its not just Florida.http://www.newsweek.com/2014/08/22/girls-who-tried-kill-slender-man-264218.html

This is a tale of a young friendship gone horribly wrong. In late May, in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha, Wisconsin, two 12-year-old girls allegedly lured a friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times. The victim, also 12, managed to crawl to a road, where she lay on the sidewalk with stab wounds in her arms, legs and torso, blood soaking her black fleece jacket, until a bicyclist found her and called 911. According to police, the assailants had been plotting the crime for months. Their motivation? They said they wanted to prove themselves worthy of Slender Man, an evil character who lives only on the Internet

Karen Marie Dilworth was arrested by police at her Ormond Beach, Fla. home after neighbors allegedly saw her sitting atop her motorcycle in her garage, masturbating. Amongst the audience was a neighbor's 13-year-old son.

According to the police report obtained by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, neighbors arrived home to find Dilworth, 50, allegedly masturbating in her garage. The 13-year-old's mother apparently yelled to another neighbor about the sight before them and that neighbor shouted to Dilworth to close her garage door.

Their protests apparently met with no response, neighbors called police, who charged Dilworth with lewd/lascivious exhibition by a person over 18 on a person under 16. She was released from Volusia County Branch Jail on $1,000 bail and reportedly declined comment to the News-Journal.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL (WFLA) -

A New Port Richey woman who deputies say was drunk, wound up getting into trouble after trying to pick up a child from school.

The staff at Trinity Elementary School say Renata Congleton, 27, was extremely intoxicated when she arrived at the school last Friday afternoon and tried to pick up the child.

Congleton hit two vehicles and left the school before Pasco County Sheriff's deputies arrived, according to an arrest affidavit.

Deputies later found Congleton sitting by her front door. They say she swore at them when they asked her a question and continued to curse when they asked more questions.

Deputies say Congleton did admit she was involved in an accident. When a deputy went to handcuff her, she pulled away and kicked and scratched the deputy.

A test found Congleton's blood alcohol level to be .413. In Florida, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.

Congleton was charged with neglect of a child, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence. Bond was set at $15,000.

Because the NRA is now a political tool to sell guns. It is not what it was when it started Eddie Eagle which actually wasn't horrible. I wouldn't want it in my kids school today though as I expect a lot of propaganda to be mixed in now.

It's a satirical story posted by a site called the National Report. But they want to believe it so bad they can't help themselves. Infowars at least realized their mistake and have pulled down the article.
:bag: Damn....I didn't even pay attention to the site....teaparty.org. HFS, I'm embarrassed.
No the website you got it from is real as far as I know. The story they printed is from a satire news site. Infowars is the one who got the ball rolling on this and then once they realized it was satire they pulled it. I guess they didn't bother to mention to anyone else why they did.

Sarasota County man arrested trying to solicit a prostitute while driving a transit bus.

“The bus driver pulled down to a dead end street and parked the bus. After waiting a couple of moments, seeing that the undercover officer wasn't going to come over to his vehicle, he got out of the vehicle, out of the bus, and walked to the undercover officer.”

Macharie allegedly paid her $20 to do a sexual act, and soon after, he was arrested and charged for soliciting a prostitute.

He did not want to have the intercourse inside the bus,” Konstantopoulos added.

Woman jailed after baby found in trunk (baby is OK).

FORRT LAUDERDALE (AP) -

A 19-year-old South Florida woman faces child abuse charges after deputies found her 5-month-old child in her vehicle's trunk during a traffic stop.

Broward Sheriff's deputies say they tried to pull over a vehicle on Tuesday but Breona Watkins kept driving. When she stopped, the deputy heard a baby crying in the trunk.

According to an arrest report, the child was lying on top of a pair of hedge clippers and was surrounded by dangerous objects including a gas can and other debris. Watkins told authorities she asked her 14-year-old passenger to slide the baby into the trunk through a back seat panel because she didn't want to get ticketed for not having a car seat.
