What is it you look forward to? You work, you live, you raise families. But what are the things you look forward to? The thing you work everyday towards? The things that keep you going every day because you have something to look forward to?
Me:
1. Pine Terrace. A resort north of Brainerd, MN. Ten glorious days each June with no TV, no phones, no iPads, no distractions. Me, my kids, my wife, my brothers, cold beer, great fishing, bonfires, and complete quiet. I can see the stars here.
2. A date with my wife. So infrequent due to busy schedules, but so important for us. She is still smoking hot, and still can look at me in that way that makes me realize I won the lottery that day I met her.
3. Kids sporting events. To watch the pure joy when they run, and try their hardest, and succeed or fail. It's all in there, and every game is an adventure.
4. Muskie fishing in Wisconsin in August. 4 days for just me, floating down a river with a cooler of beer, catching 20" smallies all day and an occasional 40+" muskie.
5. My kids when I come home from work everyday: "Hi, daddy."
That's all I need.
