Tiger Woods (2 Viewers)

I'm still a huge Tiger fan, but another mediocre Sunday round can't be doing much good for his confidence.

This is pathetic.
What kind of reasonable wager you want to make about Tiger's performance this year?
2 victories, no Majors.
In.So if he wins 2 times, one of which is a major, who wins? What if 1 win that is a major? We need rules.
Good luck with that mr. roboto. This is what flap does. He is a finless "wanna-be" and appears to take pride doing nothing but stirring the pot. One of these days he may respond with something real.

No reason for the confusion ...just continue with the conversation here and complete the wager discussion. Respond with something concrete - not swarmy smilies.
Relax, Binky. Tiger isn't what he used to be. I need to make a wager to back up my claim of two victories? Is it really that far off? There's a serious thread on the PGA around here somewhere. Don't come into a thread that was started as partly schtick and expect 100% serious business.

Tiger chokes again and all the rabid supporters are puffing their chest out because strangers on the internet won't make wagers with them. Finless has been proven right again and again in this thread while people like Binky makes a fool out of himself.

Roboto ...well that didn't take long.

What kind of reasoning is that? Some iguy wants to talk #### about a golfer being done, acts like they are going to back it up and then runs away. Put up or shut up. This isn't the first time for flapgreen.

Woods, started today in third and was looking to win on Tour for the first time since the 2009 BMW Championship, looked lethargic throughout, didn't look anything like his old self during a three-hole bogey stretch mid-round, and fell all the way down into a tie for 15th with a 75.

well 15th is better then last

Has nothing to do with his swing. Tiger is absolutely pressing/choking in the final rounds, with the emphasis on choking. Never thought I'd see that. Everything is in place for him to play just as well as he ever has. It's between his ears.

I miss the days when he plowed through everyone. He needs to get angry again! :hot:Eta: It's his body that isn't the same either.

Tiger has never been a come from behind guy. He usually built a big lead and then dominated the field. Not to say he never came from behind, but that his usual style was to intimidate everyone with his lead.

Today, Lefty beat him by 11 strokes. That's domination.

Did Romo beat him straight up today? Seriously, if Tiger is going to be any semblance of the dominant figure in the game, he needs to use today's ### drubbing as motivation.

You just can't play golf tight. Can't steer the ball to the hole - have to let every shot go. Tiger is playing tight on Sundays.

Wi went to our high school (Westlake) was really pulling for him. Proud of the way he came back after that disaster on #1.

Totally off-topic, but I thought Sir Nick Faldo was good as an announcer yesterday. Not sure why I never paid attention to him as an analyst before, but he was pretty good.

That is all.

That's what happens when the PGA Tour starts testing for steroids. If the entire golfing and sports writing press didn't have their heads so far up Tigers ###, that story would be out there by now.
Utter nonsense.I was pulling for Charlie Wi today, but that first hole did him in.
DCs wording may be a bit in-your-face, but  how else do you explain how A)Tiger no longer has a massive distance advantage on the field, B)his body seems to have fallen apart in the past few years, C) he doesnt seem to have the stamina to put together 4 good rounds. Granted that last one could be all in his head, but there could be something to the PED accusations

Nance used to annoy me, but he's gotten better over the last year or so. Faldo's been great from the start. The Faldo/Azinger/Tirico team for ABC a few years ago was the best there has been. And Tiger's going to be fine once he gets that first official win or two behind him. I think he has more pressure than ever on himself for this first one, and is just a little hung up getting over the hump. But he'll be just fine. I didn't expect him to win this week. If I had to guess, I'd say he won't win the Match Play, probably not Doral, but definitely by Bay Hill. I think he'll win one of those three, and most likely Bay Hill. But who knows. I think he should just sit out the TPC. That place is nothing but bad news for him since 2001.

It's not stamina, it's nerves. And he was longer relative to the field when he was a scrawny kid, 170 pounds soaking wet, than he was when he bulked up later in the aughts. Look at him in 2000. He was longer then. If he took anything, I think it was probably HGH, but I doubt it. And honestly, if he took steroids, I'd be even more impressed with his play. The golf swing and putting stroke are extremely delicate things and getting steroids in the mix doesn't make much sense. Especially, when you're already one of the longest guys on tour. He got SHORTER when he bulked up. If you want to get into performance enhancing drugs that people are taking that should be banned, I think you have to look at beta blockers.

Read a good story Wi told this week about playing with 9 y.o. Woods when he was 13 himself. Think it was some muni in Long Beach but I might have that wrong. Anyway, very longish par 3, Tiger missed the green badly, and nearly holed his 2nd from 70 yards. Acted all pissed off, slamming his club into the ground and scowling. Wi thought he was still steamed about his tee shot, except then the little guy said something about "I was trying to hole that". Wi was like HFS who is this kid? :lmao:

Sorry, I didn't take you $10,000 20 year wager.

Tiger didn't chokeTo choke would mean he had the lead and let it go. Final round had Tiger being beaten like Rodney King

It is going to be hard for him to dominate if he can't get back his tremendous advantage on Par 5s.
Did he really still have this in 2007 and 2009? I was under the impression that by then, much of the field had caught up to his length and he was winning with his putting and his iron play.

He still was Top 5 in Par5 performance up to 2009. In 2003 he birdied or better 60% of the time Par 5. Jesus.

It's getting where even if Tiger wins a major it doesn't mean he's back.

Any top 20 PGA golfer can have a hot week and win a major.
