Tiger Woods (2 Viewers)

^You've got to be kidding me. You think in the next 10 years any of the following: Vijay, Duval, Mickleson, Sergio, etc is going to win enough majors to supplant Tiger? The young guns now are not in Tiger's generation. HTH.
:lmao:
Tell me which of his contemporaries will win 80 tournaments, 14 majors and 20% of their starts.
I just think it is funny that Tiger is playing so bad that you are going after this stinky bait.
Nah, Saints doesn't fish. Thanks for your concern though.

Yeah...

4 to 1 odds on him winning a major ever is better odds than any bookie will give you on him winning one this year.

Also, 200-1 on him winning 3 more majors in his career would be a bet I would like to put a couple of grand on. You'd never find those odds on even 3 majors in a year for Tiger.

You honestly don't still think he's winning 5+ do you?
:lmao: Where are you getting that from his post?

No, I'm not the ####### MGM grand here. I'm a dude from the internet giving a personal opinion. Sorry to confuse you.

I think Jack's record is safe anyway, but if Tiger doesn't win at least one major this year, I doubt anyone will still be saying he has a chance at the record. We've reached that threshold now, especially with these lingering back issues.

He'll win 1 more for sure. I think he wins 2 more. 3 would surprise me but he could do it. 5....no way.

The Yahoo article was bang on. The window is being closed by father time.

 Did not read the article, but it seems that Yahoo is a little late on this, no? Finless nailed it 5 years ago.

This is the golfing expertise everyone has come to expect from you.
I know quite a bit about golf. I don't, however, have the ability to travel through time any faster than anybody else.
So Captain Obvious, you think making that obvious statement isn't going to be met with ridicule?

I don't know if he'll break the record or not - don't really care. All I know is golf is unbearably boring when he's not playing. I love to play but can't watch unless he's playing or it's a major.

This times a billion. He's good for Sunday. Come on Tiger, make it interesting for us. Imagine if he goes on a run and wins 3 or 4? Suddenly Sundays would be like zzzzzzzzzOMG

So he's playing on a Sunday and 10 strokes back makes golf interesting for you?

Those are a couple bandwagoneers talking. Notice that golf is only watchable if he is there. Once this guy is gone they are gone. They don't enjoy watching the PGA tour, they just jumped on board and rooted for a guy that was winning. It's like the guy who screamed 'You da man' a couple years back when Woods was hitting out of the rough and the shot went in a bunker. The guy had no clue where the ball as going, he was just wrapped around woods sack. Of course my favorite is the clowns standing in the crowd and he shanks one and they all run towards the ball and bend over staring at it like it's the first golf ball they have ever seen in their life. That's Otis and AAABatteries.

Three or four? If he even wins just one, the gobblers will wear out their keyboards screaming how 'back' he is. Ignoring the fact that 19 different golfers have won majors since he last did.

When is the last time he was really in contention at a major on Sunday?

And I don't mean by finishing tied for 4th or something and 6 strokes back.

What he speaks is the truth. You aren't a golf fan. You are a big name fan in and probably every sport you watch. And to AAABattery, what about Tiger being 10 strokes off the lead on a Sunday all of a sudden makes golf not boring? Guess what, you think golf is boring no matter what. It is that with Tiger's name being mentioned, you can all of a sudden hang out at home with a buddy or at the bar and try and blend in with the folks who do watch golf and enjoy it and know it. You probably walk into some bar with the PGA Tour on and first thing out of your mouth is "How is Tiger doing"?

I don't think I ever proclaimed that I was the biggest fan of golf here. Not sure what argument you're having, but great job?

Oh right. I'm gay. That's funny!

Would be interesting to see what would happen if he slimmed down. He's been dicking around with his swing due to all the injuries he's developed perhaps in part to his quest for strength. Maybe he needs to be more intent on flexibility.

His ego may not let him.

The problem is his musculature can't handle the weight of his ego.

Tiger Woods has announced that he is missing the 2014 Masters after undergoing surgery on his back for a pinched nerve.

"After attempting to get ready for the Masters, and failing to make the necessary progress, I decided, in consultation with my doctors, to have this procedure done," Woods said on his website.

"I'd like to express my disappointment to the Augusta National membership, staff, volunteers and patrons that I will not be at the Masters. It's a week that's very special to me. It also looks like I'll be forced to miss several upcoming tournaments to focus on my rehabilitation and getting healthy."

It will be the first Masters missed by Woods since 1994.

"This is frustrating, but it's something my doctors advised me to do for my immediate and long-term health."

"It's tough right now, but I'm absolutely optimistic about the future," Woods said. "There are a couple [of] records by two outstanding individuals and players that I hope one day to break. As I've said many times, Sam and Jack reached their milestones over an entire career. I plan to have a lot of years left in mine."

He also said he would try to be ready by summer which probably puts his US Open status in jeopardy as well.

Woods' injury is clearly more serious than anyone first imagined because Woods wouldn't miss the Masters unless it was going to hurt the quest for 18 majors.

That probably is what's best for Woods long-term but that doesn't mean it's not a bummer in the short-term.

For him, for the tournament, and for golf fans everywhere.

Hmmm... I may need to adjust these a bit. Perhaps I was too optimistic.

Damn. Totally sucks.

Also, weird seeing dudes in here rooting for him to get hurt or the like. I hope he has a lot of years of golf left in him, and gives us some more thrills like he used to.
