Tiger Woods (6 Viewers)

From 1996 to 2014, Tigger shot over 80 just once in 1261 rounds.

In 2015: 15 rounds, three over 80.
And that one score of over 80 was at the British Open in horrific conditions. That day, it was just a slightly below average score.

One hole yesterday, Tiger hit the ball so far right the Protracer lost sight of the ball after about a couple of seconds. He had to hit that one 50 yards right of where he as aiming.

I love when people get all indignant about people rooting against Tiger. "How dare you root against him!"
No one is doing that and they haven't for a long time. He's completely irrelevant other than folks to make lame jokes about him. This was a fun thread when Finless was still with us.

Haven't heard this in a long time.
I've read about 10 articles this morning saying that no one should be rooting against him at this point.

Were they saying because it is "racist" to root against him or because he was a great champion, the game needs him, or some version of this?

Most were saying that we should all be sad to see someone who was once so great, fall so far. That no one should take pleasure in seeing someone struggle like he is.

That I get. Would be pretty disappointed if any legitimate writer was still going with any type of racism angle with Tiger. I'm sure there is some BS somebody could put together for clicks on their story but just don't see it.

I will say one thing about Tiger. People complain when he shows his emotions when playing poorly (myself included). But his emotions were part of what made him so fun to watch when he was playing great. I'm going to miss that.
Maybe they can pair him with Bubba every week and we get entertained no matter what.

They showed him hitting balls on the range and he was puring it, then he gets on the course and his swing tempo goes up 40%. No wonder he can't hit it
Use Vijay's 17 drill.

Seven on the backswing

and

teen on the downswing

It helped me.

Maybe I should get a message to Tiger?

Interesting tidbit:

Jack Nicholas has a higher position on the PGA Tour's Eligibility List for tournaments than Tiger Woods does - today.

I'm totally rooting against Tiger. Cracks me up seeing him struggle.
I agree, Sheik. It's fun to watch him flail around out there. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

The guy is clearly making a mockery of golf. Nobody, and I mean nobody can be this bad at the pro level.

Did a yahoo writer just compare and say that Ali didn't know when to quit, and he needed one more fight to figure it out?

This is golf, sorta not the same. Why on Earth would Tiger quit?? He could shoot 80 every round for the rest of his life and make huge money doing it, playing a game he loves. Sounds hellish.

Tiger is just being selfish now - taking spots in PGA events that should go to players who have a chance at making a cut.
Yeah, I'm guessing this line of argument starts getting a lot of play pretty soon.

Jack = Career GOAT, Tiger = Peak GOAT

I think this is pretty obvious. Tigers best decade was the best ever. Jack will likely end up accomplishing more and was better for a longer period of time.

It's two different arguments when you ask who is the greatest golfer ever. I say Tiger because I view the guys who were the absolute best ever for X number of years (depending on sport and position) as being better than the guys who were just under them but did it longer.

Like JIm Brown over Emmitt Smith.

Agree.

I think Jack Nicklaus is the all time greatest golfer in terms of success

Tiger Woods is the all time greatest skill wise.

They're 1 and 1a. This entire argument is like Lebron or Jordan....just stupid.

I'll take Jordan. I actually think that argument is a lot easier to make than this golf argument.

Though Lebron sure did have some incredibly efficient and kick ### years in ####### Miami rather than ####### cleveland. Thanks Bron.

I don't see those as similar at all. Jack and Tiger are clearly top 2. LeBron is definitely not, at least not yet.

Like Lin over Lebron.
