Tiger Woods (1 Viewer)

Claiming it wasn't alcohol but medication...

I hope he is right, but why the #### are you out driving at that hour on prescribed meds.  As somebody who basically has the same exact condition the last thing I ever wanted to do when suffering from lower back pain was drive.

Have not read any of the stories - but I am assuming he refused a breathalyzer to set this up a prescription meds excuse?

Guy can't even just own his mistake.  Has to throw in alcohol wasnt involved.  Wtf difference does that make.

I used to be one of those who wanted a tiger return to winning/playing.  Getting really hard to root for that anymore.  Kinda wish he would just go away

We have no idea, but I'm going to take a guess and suggest it does make a difference somewhere in the equation. And maybe alcohol wasn't involved.

I think it does matter. If he didn't realize the reaction he was going to have because of the prescription medication, he has lesser intent and should be punished less. It doesn't absolve him but, in my opinion, it should go to the severity of the punishment.

By the way, two hours later at the station, he took two breathalyzers and blew a .000 both times. Seems like he may not be lying.

Good point

he will skate this pretty easily. there is no real stigma to driving on pills.  it is just (if not more) dangerous than driving while bombed, but society does not come down as hard on offenders.

I bet he has built up quite the tolerance over the last few surgeries.  would not surprise me at all if he is hooked on oxy.  bet he crushes at least 80mg a day.

Doesn't matter in Florida, if its alcohol or prescription drugs. but as Zoonation mentions, the social perception is easier on the use of prescription drugs. The mug shot probably doesn't win him any good will.

I've taken hundreds if not thousands of opiates/narcotics due to my back injury (same thing as Tiger basically) and finally kicked the habit about 6 months ago.  I've also had years of research into the effects of drinking too much booze.  I would know when I was impaired after drinking.  Not so easily when on meds and it can sometimes hit you suddenly.

That being said, he is a billionaire...get a damn driver.

Wonder how long he was passed out in his car

I always look well put together in my mug shots.

It's also placing the event in passive (accidental mix of prescribed medication) rather than active (getting blitzed) terms.

He can't golf, he seems to have limited interests outside of golf, he has unlimited money, not many friends, no family and is possibly addicted to pills. What could go wrong.

I've never been a Tiger Woods fan but this man need some serious help. He has got to be suffering some severe depression

he will skate this for sure.  not driving when the cop showed up.  seatbelt on. pulled over to the side of the road.

"why did you pull over there?"

"the drugs hit me all at once and I knew I shouldn;t continue driving.  thought it was the safest thing to do".

slap on the wrist coming.

He first told the cops that he had just arrived from playing golf in LA, then he asked where he was.  Sounds like Ambien mixed with Vicodin.

I do not care about golf in general and have never been a fan of Tiger but I feel bad for him.  It has to be tough falling from top of the mountain.  I am sure that he is really depressed.  He needs to get help.

2-3 norco 10's  plus an ambien  book it.  and him.  *throw in some booze and you're flllllyyyyyiiiinnnnggggg

*allegedly

just listened to the golf channel NBC criminal lawyer's comments:

1.  being behind the wheel of a running vehicle, even if pulled over = no bueno.  He had "care and control".

2.  no legal distinction between booze, illegal or legal drugs.  It is about being impaired.

3.  Tiger already admitted to being impaired (she questioned whether he had legal advice before doing so)

4.  the urinalysis will be telling as to what and how much was in his system.

overall...whatevs.  he still skates.
