Tiger Woods (4 Viewers)

Tiger looks tight to start.  Hasn’t hit a good shot yet. Made great par putt on first hole.  Pulls tee shot on par 3 into crowd Way right of the green.  Does he yell fore?  Lol. Good one.

They said that ticket  sales for the tourney increased by 40% when tiger announced he was playing.  Look at his gallery.  He moves the needle like no other.

Love it...that said I need to keep seeing it on courses he hasn’t owned. But like Kostis was saying timing should improve with play.

Some NFL owner will take note and sign Tebow.

Only 5 back while spraying the driver all over the place. Great week. Hope he can keep it rolling and fix the issues off the tee.

Gotta say, watching tiger freaking woods miss fairways by 40 yards makes me feel a lot better about my " power fade" off the tee

His short game looked a lot better than I thought it would and if he can somehow get things right off the tee he could contend for a win but it does seem to be a ways off for that to happen but anything goes with Tiger.I say he wins a tourney this year as long as his health remains solid with how good his short game was.

his short game was unreal this weekend.  the rest of his game was not.

however, if he gets it somewhat together and keeps that short game where it is, no reason he cant make a run at Augusta.

His swing wasn't as far off as it appeared IMO.  His timing was off for sure, but that's usually just a reps thing.  It doesn't help that Torrey has some of the narrowest fairways on the schedule.  Not a good time to be off.  However, recovering from that Torrey rough is incredibly tough and he did it over and over.  Pretty amazing for a guy who hasn't played much.  Like others said, his short game is 100% back to what you'd expect from Tiger.  If he can get his timing down, then watch out.

He finished 23rd in a tourney where he hit 17 fairways all weekend.  That's crazy.

Well he can score if he starts hitting fairways.
I don't think this is that big of a deal. When he was dominating he wasn't hitting that many fairways. Even his worst tee shots this past weekend were still in play and he had looks at greens. IMO his domination mostly came from hitting the ball a mile and having the best short game. We'll see.

i like seeing him back and i hope that he gets right in it until the last day of a major when his back gives out again and he withdraws because he is like human garbage for doing that to the lovely elin and i hope that karma pays him back forever take that to the bank brohans

Tiger usually plays very well at Torrey Pines. I was surprised how well he played last week.  Didn't really expect him back on the tour.  Made the cut, finished all the rounds, decent score, glutes firing. He has to be looking at winning again.

Tiger playing at the Larry David club this weekend. No brunch tables for OJ this weekend again, been a tough stretch for him socially since murdering two people

Not a great record here for Tiger, but the course isn’t conducive to spraying it everywhere off the tee.  Not expecting him to make the cut, really   Whatevs.   He’ll be at Augusta, and with new length, could get in the mix there (crazy that he hasn’t won there in 13 years)

Now the real impact:  ticket sales up 70%.

70%.  Wow.  He should really be getting a 5% royalty on every tour players’ tournament earning retroactive to 2000.

10% would probably be more fair

Tiger IS still the tour.   Simply amazing.

Bet with a super Tiger fan at work - $50 that Dustin Johnson beats Tiger by 8.5 or more strokes. Always nice to have a little bonus rooting interest.

70% over what? A lot of PGA tour stops realistically couldn't physically accomodate a 70% increase in fans.

I saw an interview that advance ticket sales were up 70% since Tiger announced but I think that's compared to this year's sales before he announced. Reason being they ended the interview saying this MAY be highest attendance ever for Riviera.  If it was 70% over last year there would be no doubt.

BTW, Phoenix broke attendance records a couple weeks ago without Tiger.

Saw he went to the M3 driver with a familiar shaft from the past. Increased loft by 3/4 of a degree too. He’s tweaking which I’d think is a good sign.

Will he try Chamblee’s advice and change his stance in order to straighten the driver?

Surely this will be the week/month/year he finally gets back to being the old Tiger.

Everything about him is old, hell he's really starting to look old now.  The only factor he'll be at August will be at the ceremonial first tee shot.  And during that you can bet the right side of the gallery will be watching out like a hawk.

:lmao:

Good news for Tiger:  Finished +1 and grinded out a not bad round that could have been disastrous.  And the leaders are all nobodies.

Bad news for Tiger : tied for 50th with roughly 40 golfers still to tee off.  He'll probably need to make up a stroke on the field tomorrow to make the weekend.

Tiger has always stuggled hitting the fairways with the driver, he should use the 3 wood...or maybe an iron...well he usually is pretty accurate with the putter.

DJ - 9/2 odds to win

Tiger - 40/1 odds to win

congrats on the tough win general.
I did give him a bunch of strokes as well, all Tiger had to do was finish in like the top 30 and even if DJ won he’d still get my money.

Now you are making me feel guilty

I’ll let him pick the guy for the Masters will only pick guys out of top 20.

He was going to struggle this week. The guy hasn't played at Riviera in 12 years. Good for him to get outside of his comfort zone. In previous comeback attempts he stuck to "his" courses. Tough to improve that way. Like that he's playing back to back weeks. Have to play and take your lumps, only way he's going to figure it out.
