I think Scott's point was that it would be a little incoherent to have this proposed mix. Or at least that's what I think. I like scenes, films, and portrayals, but think they should be in separate drafts, one for each. For this one, I dig the idea of scenes. Just my 0.01.

I get that. But I like mixing it up. I think if we have 30 of any one of those, the categories may be somewhat weak. That;'s my opinion anyhow. Again, I'll go with the majority.

I'd be in favour of it being an all scene draft if some more time was spent getting suitable categories. As is, I think even the original 15 needs some fixing up; more specifically, replacing the best classroom scene with something that makes more sense.

I think both have good points here. Sure the judging might take longer than the drafts, but I think the timdrafts stay on task in large part because they are a tad more serious. Once we start getting 30 categories of fart scenes and dildos it's harder to keep people going. I also think there is good balance here in the categories. However, if the majority do want to try all scenes, I agree with TK in that we should spend a little time tightening up the categories.

I think the hardest thing will be having only 1 movie per series draft - for example, there are a lot of great space movies that have good fight scenes in them that can only be in one or the other.

Have you figured out the judges yet?I asked for rock and roll movies and I could probably do the child actor one as well, that sounds fun. I've always had a bug up my ### about bad child actors screwing up other wise great presentations.There are good child actors out there but you wouldn't know it watching a show like The Americans. Game of Thrones found a few, granted they're all English.

I'll take New York and best portrayal of a real/historical person.However, I have PMed Tremendous Upside and will yield the former to him if he wants it. He's lived here all his life and is well versed, I think he's the perfect judge for it. If he declines I would like to keep it.

It is, you just don't agree. Maybe a compromise of 2 per series or something, but somebody needs to volunteer to track it. OR think of a couple different categories that won't be dominated by a couple series. I think the draft will suffer if 1/2 the space picks are from star wars and star trek and the super heroes could turn out the same way. We are just trying to get drafters out of their comfort zone a little.

If the purpose is to come up with a list of the 25 greatest outer space movies of all time, then youre correct that it's stupid to only allow one Star Wars film, for example. But such lists are out there already. And what's the point of rehashing them? My purpose. Instead. Is to challenge each drafter to come up with alternative outer space films- some of them excellent movies which don't always show up on the greatest lists. For me, that's a much more interesting exercise.

You insane?That's a bit harsh. What's the problem with using different movies within a whole story like that? While Star Wars was a continued story, for the most part Star Trek and James Bond are all really stand alone films in and of themselves.
