timschochet's Fantasy Football League - Draft has begun (1 Viewer)

Don't stress--the bonehead benching of the week will probably be me benching the Jags defense.   Uggh.
I am not stressed now. There is no reason for Jax to throw another pass in this game.  So it will not be a great game for Lee, just a really good start.

Thought about starting Bortles over Mariota playing the Seahawks.  Thought about starting R Woods over B Marshall.  Did neither, ugh.

Meh--I wouldn't kick yourself too hard on those decisions.  Bortles had done nothing to give anybody confidence enough to start him over Mariota---and Woods on a Thursday night is also a pretty tough commitment.  I'm not sure you made the wrong decisions going in.

Actually, it was Diggs
Oh wow--yeah--my bonehead move ended up not mattering. I'm still going to lose and both of my defenses socred the same number of points.  Speaking of which--if anybody is interested in a solid defense (i have KC and Jax)--Ii would be open to perhaps trading one of mine for a decent TE.

How about this week? Rationale still bad?
So far it has hurt you in week and helped you one week.  CJ looks like a beast one week than disappears the next.  If Parker turns into a consistent reliable WR1 it will work out.  You just have depth issues but that happens in a 16-team league especially with injuries and suspensions.  The trade hurt your depth but strengthened you in one position. I just don't see CJ being replaced by anyone on your bench.  You probably could have used Rogers this week, but KC def will help long term. So good luck.

Wasn't intentional, but my draft ended up being getting guys overly beat up over injury history/concerns.

Round 1:.  AJ Green should have gone around the 8th pick fell to me at pick 12.  I am guessing because he missed 6 games last year people avoided him for their 1st pick.

Round 2:. Gronk. Without the history of being banged up and missing games, he dropped from about the 12 spot down to the 21st where I picked him up.

Round 3:. K. Allen.  Missed all of last season (except the first quarter of game 1) when he was a top 10 pick.  Snagged him up at pick 44, maybe my biggest bargain of the draft.

Round 4:. C. Hyde. Again a guy with a history of missing games.  Solidly a late second round workhouse who plays every down when healthy, which is rare in this league.  Got him at pick 53.

Just for good measure, I picked up concussion/lisfranc  Abdullah to round out my all injury-prone team.  For now I am 3-0 and the top scorer in the league.  So far my injury-prone team has stayed relatively healthy and on the field producing good numbers. Probably can't last and was not an intended strategy, but so far it looks like finding good value in guys overly devalued due to injuries has paid off.

I'm just giving you ####. I didn't want to take the chance on Alshon and CJ getting hurt by the end of the season. And I think Parker is in line for a big year. Never know. I love making trades. Playing to win money is something I don't even think about.

If I lose to Tim this week, I'm going to rip both of my eyeballs out and dump gasoline in the sockets and set it on fire.

anyone else getting sporadic emails tonight from yahoo sports on all your unsuccessful waiver requests ...from last night?

also ...i'm soaking up all those bennett 0 yd ppr pts.

My whole team under performed.  But key injuries to my opponent let me slide into 4-0.   Been both good and lucky so far.  One injury away from being mediocre.

@Getzlaf15 beat me out on McGuire.  Probably not in a great situation yet, but if the Jets were smart they would feature him.  I had to settle for Lacy whom I have little confidence in, but at least there is a chance.

Tough matchup this week.  For the first time I will go into as a projected underdog, although it is basically a 50-50 tossup.

At the risk of sounding like Flap with my complaining (jk)--I'd like to thank all of the other owners for having their teams blow up on me week after week.  Good lord my points against is insanely high. Lol.    I predict Tim's team goes off this week too. Lol.  Great luck to all this week.

Hey man! Stealing my thunder!

Not that it makes a difference (congrats on the win Tim)--but shouldn't Hill get 6pts for that td return?  Is that a scoring update thing--or does this league not give points for that? Not complaining--just wondering.

Sorry, Bil. Thought for sure you would come back and win last night. I've gotten to .500 with smoke and mirrors.
I saw you had Doyle and he scored right away and just turned it off.  Was hoping to add to the Flappy bad beat collection with the 32pt Def performance.  :lmao:
