**TNF on Prime - Broncos 9-5 at Chargers 8-6** (-2.5, 41.5) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Oof. Looking hard at Nix AND Herbert as the best ranked options for me in Superflex tomorrow.

I HATE Thursday games. Both guys have been underperforming a bit… and both defenses are fairly strong.

Could be a tough call, but I may be hoping for Thursday fireworks tomorrow.

Chargers need to run a little bit or Justin will be cannon fodder
Will Broncos fans take over So-fi?
I think defense will dominate this game
Leaning under
Let's say...

Somebody wins 20-17

"Nix" meaning short for Penix, right? Good call.
I sort of wish it was. Missed him with not enough FAAB as I was going after Ford/Miller to possibly replace Kamara.

I think I’ve decided to sit Herbert tonight and roll with Bo.

Two QBs on Thursday just feels like two many eggs in one basket on games with a trend to be clunkers.

Sutton or McConkey?
Sutton has a terrific track record the last 6-8 weeks?
I'd have to do a side by side comparison but Denver on Defense is very stingy to the opposing QBs, that has to trickle down to WR
Add in no real threat on the ground for the Chargers and I like Denver to win a defensive struggle tonight

Grabbed 2 dynasty fliers in Estime and Mims. Hoping someone show me something.
if you've got room, hold both of those guys. Tho the reason that Estime isn't getting more work is because he needs to work on pass protection

Mims has been dynamic and if he works on his route running, he'll be top 10... if. He has been sitting in on TE and RB meetings, so he is putting in the work to be a great football player and contributor

I'm feeling the Chargers -2.5. Playoff hopes on the line; don't see them losing 3 in a row and from what I've seen in the recent Broncos games they have gotten some lucky swings in their games.

Feel like the Chargers are the better team, and they need the win more. I think its more of a defensive battle. I think both teams struggle to move the ball, especially on the ground. Ultimately, I think Nix is a lot more likely to make a mistake than Herbert is and I think that is what swings it.

Chargers-24
Broncos-17

Both Herbert and Nix could easily finish outside of the Top 20 this week
Might not be what folks want to hear but I expect a defensive struggle tonight

"Deserves(need to win) got nothing to do with it"

I would abandon ship on most tonight unless you absolutely must start some of these guys.
Will Lutz is a poplar play at Kicker, might not see a lot of opportunities tonight.
Lutz is ranked as high as 1st/2nd this week, Cam Dicker is around 15th, which team is really going to win tonight?
Broncos and Chargers Def/ST are teams that get played throughout the season, maybe tonight isn't the best night to start them.

Sutton and McConkey likely do alright, of the players going tonight I like them the best. Sutton over McConkey, mostly due to the Denver DBs, isn't Surtain gonna cover him?

I think Denver wins tonight and as far as the Bolts somehow coming out tonight hair on fire, they close with 2 easy games at New England and at LVRaiders
They are likely going 10-7 at worst and the closest teams to LAC are a full 2 games back, there is no urgency for them. They aren't winning the AFC West and I expect them to continue to show their shortcomings on offense tonight. Is it enough to push Denver past them?

You just don't want to be the No 7 seed in the AFC, that puts as much emphasis on Denver tonight where a 5-seed might get you a game vs HOU weather a non factor - WC weekend.
7-Seed lands in Buff/KC likely, nobody wants to start off there but if the LAC falls tonight that is their likely path going into the Playoffs
Indy, Cinci and Miami are all 6-8 and going nowhere, not much excitement in the AFC for final Playoff spots

I know a lot needs to go there way, but CIN has CLE this week with DTR at QB....then DEN at CIN next Saturday.....then at PIT....I could see CIN getting to 9 wins....which would include a victory over DEN and the tiebreaker.....

Unless the Broncos completely change what they've been doing on coverage all year, I don't think McConkey sees much of Surtain. Likely Surtain vs Johnston.

Surtain has averaged about 3 snaps per game in the slot this season, McConkey has averaged about 30.

Denver currently has a 91% chance to make the playoffs and I’m still terrified as a fan. I wouldn’t be shocked if Denver lost it’s last 3 and the Bengals won their last 3 to knock Denver out. I love what Denver has done this year but it feels very fragile to me.

Chargers are just so bland and boring. If there is a team I hope my steelers could face in round 1 of playoffs, it would be LAC.
I like DEN tonight, to lean on Nix, and get the W.

Why arent the Colts and Dolphins mentioned in the same breath at Cincy, all 6-8.
LAC faces 2 deadbeats after tonight, they will be 10-7 at worst, and they beat Cincy. Denver slate gets more difficult each week.

Not liking the matchup for McConkey tonight but how can you bench him?
I feel the same, but my P.I.C. says he is a must start(over LaPorta) for our flex spot.
And thats nothing more than a feeling, and that Surtain is playing. Moss is out, so maybe a bit more optimism for Ladd.

Chargers offense has been just terrible since Dobbins got hurt in the Monday Night game vs Baltimore. Plus I feel like Baltimore showed how offenses can muscle up and push the D around on the ground - although I see no evidence that the Broncos O can execute that strategy. Still, Denver has scored 31, 41, 29 and 38 in its last 4 games while Chargers have scored 17, 17 and 13 since Dobbins went out.

I'll go with the average team playing better than average football of late over the team that's been below average for the last month playing really bad football

Broncos, 23-17

Agreed. If/when the Broncos go man I would expect Ja'Quan McMillian to match up w/ McConkey.

But Denver does play a lot of zone too so all depends on what Vance Joseph dials up.

You contradicted yourself in this post, saying the Chargers have no urgency, then pointing out that it is very desirable to avoid the 7 seed. Beyond that, I don't think the Chargers can afford to take any victories for granted, including over NE and LV. They need this win more than Denver.

Whether that matters tonight is an open question. We'll see.

Case in point: Horrific play calling and offensive mindset here, total waste of a first drive by the Bolts, never once put the ball in Herbert's right hand to throw downfield
The Chargers are not a forward thinking offensive minded football team

Just saw that shot of Herbert on the sideline with his helmet off.

Mannn, he has the awful pencil-stache right now. If he just grew out that mullet, he could rock a MEAN Joe Dirt look.

Next closest team is 2 games behind and they have 2 cream puffs after tonight
Nobody is above 6-8 after them, those teams have 8 losses each for a reason

Broncos picking up where the Bucs left of at So-Fi last week
WOW!

What an impressive opening drive by the Broncos
I wonder if the Bolts will try and run it up the middle on FD again when they start their 2nd Drive

Hoping for a better week than last week what a brutal week I lost 2 cutline teams by 0.43 and 2 pts when Allen scored that TD. Sitting Higgins and playing Jennings and Kupp on both teams doomed me in. I dropped from #1 in RTS to #241 even with a 151 pts (for context I avg 160 on my way to #1 in the regular season)
Then my few teams that blew up in NFFC didn't even matter had 188-192 pts on 3 teams and was in 25th and 28th place with my top 2 and one of them lost my only good RB's in Monty and Guerendo. To add to the misery I lost my best FFPC dynasty team when I sat Brian Thomas for Charbs/Addison.

So here is to things going better the only good thing for me last week was my best cutline team put up a 213 and is currently in 1st place.
