3 hours long and it has bad ratings? I'm not sure I could get myself to sit through something that long if it drags much. But I thought No Country sucked, so what do I know.

I love Tombstone but agree that Val Kilmer deserves some kind of special award for his performance. He elevates the movie from "below average" to "one of my favorite westerns." Powers Boothe and whoever plays Ike Clanton are the only other characters that are memorable.

I think it's underrated. It suffered from being "that other tombstone movie" at the time. It's a 3-hr Costner epic, and includes his whole life, really. Dennis Quaid plays Holliday, and while he's good, it's not the wisecracking, quotable Kilmer version (although Doc was probably more like Quaid's character than Kilmers.) It's also much grittier - people are dirty, the women aren't as pretty, etc.

I have another 45 minutes to go, but Bill Paxton deserved an Oscar for his great spitting. And not talking too much.

Yes. Unwatchable. They both came out around the same time. Tombstone is the one to watch.

I forgot why I hated it so much. You reminded me that Kevin Costner was in it. It's coming back to me.

He was such a jerk to work with he killed his career. I think he was one of the best actors of our time. If he wasn't such a diva with anger issues, we would still be seeing him today.

Also... I have not yet begun to defile myself.

I'm surprised there are people that haven't seen this movie.

Kilmer should be so much more prolific. The Saint is one of my favorite rainy day movies that barely anybody has seen.

Kilmer is amazing. That's one of the greatest supporting performances I've ever seen in a film. An no that's not hyperbole. He's incredible. I can't believe he wasn't even nominated for an Oscar for this. I don't know how you can conceive of a better supporting performance in a film than he gave here.
