Top 101 Movies of the 80s (1 Viewer)

Most Underrated

87: THE GOONIES *

They just put up a Goonies display at work. Might have to go get my picture taken with One Eyed Willie tomorrow. They've got a TV/VCR combo playing the trailer and behind-the-scenes video on a loop in all their standard definition glory on a little 13" TV. It's amazing. But my favorite part? There's a plaster nude statue with his junk broken off as part of the display. "It's my mom's favorite part!" :lmao:

Shoot, I would want to get my picture taken with the TV/VCR combo

80s' LIST IN ORDER OF MOVIES THAT SHOWED UP ON THE LIST:
64. ALIENS
I hope 43 of the 47 pages of this thread is just people yelling about this.
Aliens is top 10. Easily.
What movie from our top 10 do you replace with Aliens?
Pale Rider. It was a very weak remake of High Plains Drifter.
Pale Rider wasn’t top10. I didn’t even have it on my list.

Weird. My "take a picture with One Eyed Willie" day at work didn't go over quite as well.

My bad - it was #10 on Hastur's list.

Tempted to glue one on upside down. The replica Chunk hawaiian shirt intrigues me.

I just finished binge reading these 47 + pages, the 34 + pages in the next 100, and the page and half poll. My first thought is you kids missed the best part of the '80s. The movies on HBO after midnight. Which means you missed, inexcusably missed the entire Betsy Russell catalog. If you mention the plots, the rest of the cast, the difficulty of finding these in decent picture/sound quality, peeping tom aspect of at least one, etc. well then that is just the ignorance of youth. I mean one of you kept saying that this was your alone on a deserted island list and you're picking black and white subtitled foreign films rather than Betsy Russell playing strip spin the bottle on a deserted island. Kids!
