a whole bunch of places. just not ours.Flops, you found a place to live yet?
still having lots o' baby-making sex?yep...twins on the way. I hear about that. We've gone like 4 ultrasounds already, and there don't appear to be any issues.....but we definitely realize the possibilities of something happening.both embryos took? Congrats!!!(Just be prepared that one could be absorbed into the body if it's not strong enough... apparently this is common in regular pregnancies, but never noticed, since regular pregnancies don't do ultrasounds as often as IVF (or as early). Not trying to be negative here, just prepare you. Read up on it and be prepared to support your wife, who will be very emotional due to hormones.)
Not this last week... But in future weeks, yes. It's odd really to be in that situation.still having lots o' baby-making sex?
Good luck buddy.Implanting via embryo adoption tomorrow...

Proud parents of quadruplets for the moment. We'll see what happens over the next couple weeks.
Best of luck! We're going in on Tuesday afternoon for the frozen embryo transfer to try for #2. Didn't realize how much I missed sticking my wife with a needle every night. Allows me to get out a fair amount of frustration.Proud parents of quadruplets for the moment. :( We'll see what happens over the next couple weeks.
Did y'all try naturally this time around, or go straight to the transfer?Best of luck! We're going in on Tuesday afternoon for the frozen embryo transfer to try for #2. Tried for a few months. Got pregnant in April, but had a miscarriage about six weeks in. We're going in for the transfer this month because enough time has passed that they'll be two years apart if this works and because our storage contract was up at the end of September and we didn't want to pay for another year.Did y'all try naturally this time around, or go straight to the transfer?Best of luck! We're going in on Tuesday afternoon for the frozen embryo transfer to try for #2. Yeah, well, glad I'm not on the other end. I'm running out of non-bruised area to stick her in.Best of luck! We're going in on Tuesday afternoon for the frozen embryo transfer to try for #2. Yeah, this didn't work. We're pretty much at the end of fertility treatment. We did manage to get our son out of the first IVF. Still disappointing.Nice Bentley, good luck!Tried for a few months. So sorry to hear about this. Gives you another reason to appreciate your son even more. We are starting our first round of drugs this month. We have put off not being scientific as long as we can. I think we have finally decided that if the drugs don't work (we will do 3 months of them) we are not going any further with treatment although after reading this thread it sounds like I may need to try acupuncture. We have a ton of people around us pregnant too. My younger sister (and not so stable sister) has a 1 year old and just found out she was pregnant with twins...naturally and both of my step sisters are pregnant (one with her 5th). Holidays will be super fun this year. Good luck to everyone else trying.Yeah, this didn't work. We're pretty much at the end of fertility treatment. We did manage to get our son out of the first IVF. This was the hardest part for my wife before we got pregnant. I expect it's going to be that way again with all our friends/family working on #2 or #3. Best of luck. My wife had acupuncture during her IVF cycle and is a big proponent of it.We have a ton of people around us pregnant too. my wife just brought this up... will want to hear more down the road. This is why we have decided that if the drugs (i.e. Clomid) or acupuncture/natural methods don't work, we probably won't go any further in the process except possibly IUI. I just don't know that I want to put those emotional/financial/physical demands on us for something that has no guarantee of working and our insurance doesn't pay anything related to fertility. I suspect we would end up going the adoption route if we still decide we want to have kids. Can I ask what IUI runs? We haven't decided whether or not to give that a try.![]()

again- sorry to hear about all of this bentley. it's hard for folk to understand how much emotional (let alone financial) energy gets put towards this unless you've gone through it too.
we (read: the wife) decided to do another couple rounds of IUI... mostly afraid of the big cost and drug-usage/physical component of the IVF. but first a lot of sex this fertile weekend.
Our insurance covers IUI... so I don't know. Are you sure yours doesn't?IVF... oof. $8,750 plus med costs (plus if the wife wants to go through with doing gender selection... another 2k or so)..This is why we have decided that if the drugs (i.e. Clomid) or acupuncture/natural methods don't work, we probably won't go any further in the process except possibly IUI. Ours didn't cover either. I think each IUI cycle was about $2k for us. We blew way past the minimum requirement for deducting medical expenses in 2008 (7.5% of income).El Floppo said:Our insurance covers IUI... so I don't know. We are beginning down the road of iVF considerations. Question for you guys....how the heck do you pay for something like that? Are there places that will give you loans or is it a lump sum...save the money until ready to go.CongratsJust found out my wife is prego after not being successful naturally for the last 5 years. We had two successful IUIs but one miscarried and the other was a neonatal fatality. Also tried and IVF but it never took. We pretty much gave-up and were looking into adopting or donor eggs. What a rollercoaster.
Pay for it however you can. We had problems for a few years, so we saved up the cash knowing it was a possibility. I know the place we went had loan information, also, they took credit cards. Something else you might want to look into is that you can "buy insurance" .....basically paying for multiple IVF's up front (at a reduced rate) and if they don't work, you get a % of your money back. Not all clinics offer this, but depending on your circumstances, it might be beneficial.Turns out my first child was apparently the miracle. Yeah...they have a program here that does this. Depending on what you want to do it's between $15K and $30K. For the most expensive it's three harvests, freezing half the embryos for tries after the unfrozen attempts (sorry for hacking up the terminology here). If none of the 6-8 attempts work, you get 70% of your money back. It's the coming up with the $30K that's the problem.Pay for it however you can.
