I'm not exactly having trouble getting pregnant, but my wife is.
We've been trying for almost a year, and nothing yet. We've had our first round of tests, which they make you get before you are able to get an appointment at the fertility clinic. Luckily my "little boys" are in fine shape, large in number, and are great swimmers -- likewise her hormone levels are "normal"
Beyond this though, we don't know what's going on.
Anyone have any thoughts they'd like to share? This is really tearing up my wife, and while it's not effecting me in the same way (really not that much at all), I am starting to get worried about her state of mind about the whole thing.

The only advice that's been given to me is "flip her over and #### her again". So that's what I do.
)We're adopting now, but then my wife's 44 years old tomorrow. (I went old before old was cool.) It's all good though. Try all the timing, measuring, etc, stuff, and if that doesn't work talk to your doctor about getting a motility study done to make sure that your aquatic team is performing right. Your wife should also talk to her GYN about any physiological abnormalities that her uterus, etc. might have. From there, you go to a fertility doctor with your check book poised. Don't worry about it. Take one step at a time and be there to support your wife as these trials tend to be taken a bit personally by the women. Roll with the punches big guy.
Also.. anyone else with advise, please feel free to comment.
It will happen when it's suppose to.
It must have been soon after I posted this that we conceived.I think she was on clomid for a month or two, and conception happened during our first artificial insemination treatment thingamabob. Basically, I went into a room, wanked one into a cup, then they used some sort of tool to inject it close to where it needed to go. We think that some of the testing they did on her ovaries may have flushed out a blockage that was preventing my guys from reaching their goal, according to our doc, this is the case sometimes and people often conceive right after they get this type of testing. We were luckily able to avoid IVF and the more expensive treatments, though the clomid and the one treatment we did get, plus consultations, cost a few grand total.I'm not sure how your wife is taking this whole thing, mine was pretty upset at times throughout the process. My only advice is to be as understanding as possible, and be patient. At 29, she's still very young. The temptation might be there to go straight to IVF (especially if you can afford it), but I would advise trying the drugs and the artificial insemination route for as long as a year or more if need be.The hardest times really came once a month when we found out she wasn't pregnant. This would induce a couple days of misery, but as long as you are there for her emotionally, I'm sure you guys can pull through.good luck!!
