US Men's National Team (10 Viewers)

I think we're picking our poison. We're not committing to winning as many balls in midfield because we don't want to get caught by Phonzie streaking past us. Not at all surprising to me that we're conceding some possession. Particularly after going up early. It's not as pretty as versus Mexico, but we've still made Canada uncomfortable even leaving aside the two goals. We have the guys now to make the moments count, and Canada's backline and Borjan are a little shaky. I think the US have another goal coming considering the way Kennedy is dealing with (or not dealing with) balls over the top.

Not feeling super confident, despite the 2 goals.

Canada doing the things they should be doing, but final touch has been US-esque. Theyve shown me they have goals in them to turn this thing upside down. US need to keeping trying to score ... Or park the bus for real and not try for such an open game.
I'm the exact opposite. This is what I want from the US team. Open play. Lean on being athletic. We aren't going to win via tactics...it's about putting our athletes in space to make things happen.
They have better athletes on offense. Davies, Larin, David... We need to control the MF better- passing lanes and space... Because Canada is going to win that game on offense.
Jedi might be the best athlete on the field. Trust him and Scally/Dest to be up to the task. Plus, Adams will eventually fill the gaps.

Nobody touches Davies. And Adams absence is huge.. but he's out.

Happy for the win and the Cup, but that wasn't a very good game overall IMO. Canada just crapped the bed when they got into the box.
Agreed. I kept saying- CAN played like the US 2022 WCQ team, and the US players like CAN.

But nice to see the US win "ugly", especially after such a dominant game... And with so many key players out.

Scoring goals and keeping clean sheets against the regional rivals- huge.

The good.... Gio and Balogun were balling tonight. Great game from those two. Jedi was the MOTM in my opinion. Might be the best he's played for the US. Just absolutely locked in and covered SO well especially when he came in on the weak side.

The bad.... Aaronson shouldn't have started. His lack of defensive cover really hurt us through the middle. LDLT didn't play all that much better coming in either. Also, it felt like we really struggled getting Pulisic the ball in dangerous areas today. Gio and Balo did so well so it didn't matter too much, but we gotta get him the ball more.

The great.... We were missing 5 starters and started an incredibly young team and still dominated. The future looks VERY bright.

We've really struggled in the midfield the last few years because options are limited. I think all the backups are going to be passed soon enough though. But it is pretty disheartening to me that only Morris from the next group was even called into the Gold Cup. I guess i'm okay with Mahailovic too. But it seems like we still have eval problems here.

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but I thought Turner had a really solid 2 game stretch here. It feels really good he can play at this level with out good minutes at club level.

Ok now on to the Gold Cup to see if we can fill any of the holes (a back up to Adams, a back up to Jedi, maybe see if Cade can continue his ascension...).

The midfield looks relatively weak in the Gold Cup so if Morris is going to step up, this may be a golden chance for him.

I wonder if Miles will be replaced on the Gold Cup roster or if they will see how he looks next week...

I hope Gio did not injure himself to the point where it is going to screw up his preseason.....

So who picked Vegas for these games?

Very disappointed this game wasn't a sell out. Of course when you relegate your domestic league to Apple TV and put your National team on Paramont plus and HBO, it's no wonder the county is losing interest.
