Yuval Ranon has just received his American passport and is now eligible for a USA call-up. The Israeli international has been sending shockwaves through the junior division with 15G in 17GP. Yuval was also given some minutes off the bench for the U19s, scoring 2G and getting 1A.

I believe Yuval would have to file a one-time switch to become eligible at the senior level as he was provisionally cap tied to Israel through the U17 Euro Qualifiers.

not a yank yet but he will provide some needed depth offensively if and when he becomes a citizen

LUCIANO ACOSTA IS THE 2023 LANDON DONOVAN MLS MVP!

His 2023 MLS regular season: 17 goals, 14 assists, Supporters' Shield winner, Goal of the Year winner

Love Lucho, and he could fill the void of Concacaf asshattery the squad currently lacks. Could keep Dest on the pitch too, by getting to the ref first to start jawing.

Milan vs Dortmund today

Dortmund up 1-0 in first half on a pk. Giroud has missed a pk for Milan.

Pulisic starting, Gio on bench, Musah is suspended.

Pulisic playing really well. Hasn't misplaced a pass yet this game, including a couple of really good crosses into the box. Just attempted a half bicycle that would've been insane, but it was blocked.

Pulisic really has been fantastic. Moved over to the right side when Chukwueze was subbed out, and it seems like he's been all over the field. Has made a number of plays in the defensive box. It's a shame they're they're about to lose.

Today was a day that Pulisic would've had a couple of assists if the rest of Milan had showed up. It was easily his best game this year and he's in the running for MOTM even though Milan lost 3-1. I think Hummels will ultimately be given the award, but there wasn't anyone on the field more dangerous than Pulisic tonight and on top of that he was technically very efficient.

GK Diego Kochen is back. He was on the bench today for Barcelona as the 3rd keeper. He's 17.

Barca plays Antwerp (who is on 0 points in the group) in the last round. I'd love to see him get a run out for that but I'm not thinking that's likely because they can still technically not win the group (though I think Shaktar would need to overcome a 7 GD).

Dest starting. Tillman and Pepi on bench for PSV in UCL play today.
Game just got interesting...

  • Sevilla up 2-0
  • Tillman subs in
  • Sevilla goes down to 10 men on 2nd yellow card for one of their players
  • Dest almost immediately assists on a goal to make it 2-1
  • 21 minutes left in regulation
2-2 now

This would be a huge road point for PSV
Guess I chose the wrong minute to step away from the tv.

Pepi on as a sub now.

Great win for PSV. Kind of surprised that Sevilla didn't argue the 2nd yellow more...I didn't really think that was worse than a standard foul.

The PSV win knocks out Sevilla and at least guarantees PSV a Europa spot.

Arsenal is beating Lens right now. If that result holds, PSV goes into the last game with a 3 point lead over Lens for second place.

Even better, if the result holds, Arsenal is guaranteed first place in group and will have nothing to play for when PSV hosts them in the last game. This would be best case for PSV.

Arsenal up 4-0.

Looks like PSV will only need a draw at home to advance and may be able to advance with a loss depending on how many more goals Arsenal can score today.

From ESPN....

The Dutch club can secure their spot in the knockout rounds for the first time since 2015-16 if Lens lose at Arsenal later on Wednesday.

Sevilla were eliminated with the loss. It is the third straight season the Spanish club have failed to advance past the group stage.

Hmm......PSV has 8 points and Lens has 5.

Oh, is the first tie breakers head 2 head instead of GD maybe? That might do it

Yes, head to head is first. So PSV are 99.999999999999% through already with Arsenal up 5.

Very cool for PSV to advance, and with a game to spare no less.

Here is the Pepi winner. He helped start and end the movement

It looks exceedingly simple. He just has to nod in a cross that's right on the money. But he absolutely created his space by checking his run to give the angle. With his physicality, he's a handful if he develops those Wondo-like Fox in the Box instincts.
In looking up his stats, he now has 4 goals and an assist in only 186 minutes in league/UCL play

From Bogert

On Orlando City forward Duncan McGuire, per sources:

Scouts from clubs in the Netherlands & Belgium were present in Orlando’s playoff loss to Columbus to watch him. Several clubs interested in the U.S. U-23 striker

New KC Current Women's Stadium to name their press box in honor of Grant Wahl.

I really hope this new stadium is a success.

This is a great size for USL teams and maybe in other parts of the country there can be some joint ventures between NWSL and USL to build more of these. We still have too many USL teams in poor stadiums for the sport especially in USL League One.

DC United have an 18 year old player named Kristian Fletcher. He was not seeing much time and the team this fall decided to loan him to Swansea (I believe DC United and Swansea share some common ownership).

Swansea put him on their U21 team and he is off to a great start. He has been playing as either a lone striker or a dual 9. He has 6 goals in his first 6 games.

There is now some talk that he might get moved up to the main squad in the Championship but some details have to be worked out first with DC I think.
Apparently there is a complication here as the Championship has a fixed number of loanees you can use and Swansea are already at the cap. So I don't think he'll be able to appear for the first team until January when they either send a loanee back or make a permanent move for Fletcher.

I'm really glad to see him having success. I never understood why DCU didn't give him a shot this year (he got in 10 games but only played 120 minutes) and I didn't realize til this post that they had loaned him. The 2005 class is pretty strong but hasn't had a breakout attacking player. He and Ngoma are guys that can make the class really special.
Looks like he is still crushing it with the U21's. I think I saw back to back hat tricks for him in his last two games.

I know it's a little silly to have a kid averaging around 2 goals a game because it's clear he's too good for a level. And there is the concern it's not really helping his development.

I actually think him doing this is good as he wasn't getting enough pt at DCU. He could be languishing not playing. Instead, this run - even at a U21 level - is going to get him offers for the new year at Swansea or somewhere else. He's making his mark that he needs to play and now.

Julian Green scored the only goal of the game for Furth. Furth have won 5 in a row and are now just 2 points out of an auto promotion spot.
