US Men's National Team (4 Viewers)

James Sands is being loaned to St Pauli (Bundesliga) for the rest of the season. St Pauli is a promoted side that is in a relegation fight.

I don't really see any future as a DM for the Nats but I still feel like if he'll move to center back he might have a path. Sands is still only 24 so, given our need at the back, he could still emerge as a back of the roster guy in his prime.
Wow... a- forgot about him, b- thought he was 28ish. Yeah, still another 10 years of possible growth/production for him.

I listened in. Quiet game for CP outside of a few moves. His MF did him no favors. Plus.. I'm pretty sure he was matched up against Swag who played LB. Would've been fun to watch them go head to head. Fwiw, I heard Swags name more than CPs.

Oh! The fans got really into chanting Musahs name after his cross/own goal for the win. Stadium wide chanting for him after that any time he did anything.

Ok. Just reporting what I heard listening in while I worked. Not a lot of CP. But he did draw and finish the PK in a winning effort... So that's probably enough.

He also almost scored the third after making a great overlap during a break towards the end that would've blown it open. Great kick save by the GK from a tight angle.

It was a pretty quiet game for most everyone, but CP was definitely one of the better players on the field. Offensively he started a few good breaks, had the PK(and drew it), and had that other shot that as you said was saved beautifully.... He also played really well defensively IMO. He covered the most distance of anyone in the game(which is unusual for him... maybe part of the new system?) and made a few interceptions.

His MOTM was deserved IMO. McKennie played a decent game too btw. He seems to be gelling well in that LB role.

Good stuff, thanks!
Listening in really only gives me awareness of on the ball activity as the play by play guy calls his name... Great hearing about the defensive work (uncalled). Offensively, I heard Moratas name more than CPs... But he's a punk.

Yeah, that's the part of the game you can't hear for sure. It was very good to see Christian put so much work in... clearly he's 100%. He was sprinting all over the field, more than usual IMO.

Yildiz from Juventus was probably the best player on the field IMO, but since AC Milan won it's hard to give a MOTM to a losing attacking player. I'll be interested to see if CP continues to put in so much work in this system going forward, because I don't remember a whole lot of games in the past where he ran more than anyone else.

Milan supercoppa derby at 2pm ET on ESPN+
I assume CP will be starting. From the little post game I read, Musah was praised as changing the dynamic of the game when he subbed in early in the 2nd half (especially compared to who he replaced). Might be that he gets the start too.

Richie negotiating new PSV contract. Love seeing his resurgence. I feel like he's had some bad injury luck(?) the last few years which has stunted his progress.. the guy was always talented.

I was hoping to see some news on Dest. You see anything on him?

I haven't looked since I did a couple weeks ago.

Yeah... I don't see anything new since that SkySoorts interview in November.... Saying hoping for Jan return.

Transfermarkt shows him returning Feb 1.

Considering how little I'm turning up, I think that has to be taken with grain of salt.

Listening to the talking heads congratulate Robinson while also blasting him calling himself "Jedi" is fun.
Its childhood nickname though. It’s not like he made it up when he was an adult to get attention. I think he had it since he was 5 years old.
Oh I didn't know how or when he got it, they seemed to say he gave it to himself and wants to be called it.
Per googly

got his nickname "Jedi" because he's a big fan of Star Wars and his father allowed players to choose their own nicknames:
Childhood love: Robinson chose the nickname when he was five years old.

On Austin FC: Austin will pay club-record fee around $10 million for Brandon Vazquez, per sources

Great for Vazquez. Great for Austin. Very excited about the news. #ListosVerde
This still is a very odd thing for MLS in general. I don't know what causes it but it happens over and over again.

You do well in MLS, you want to stay in MLS, no one will pay you what you want in MLS, so you leave. And then after a short while, MLS teams are willing to overpay to get you back.

Like most things... Marketing.

Emeka Eneli is a new name for me. Good to see Luna on the list.

I'm not familiar with Arfsten, Campbell, Eneli, Agyemang or White - anyone able to share info on them?

Interesting to see Caden Clark...didn't realize he was back in MLS.

Can't remember what Matko Miljevic's story is, but I remember that it's hilarious

you can't even make this type of stuff up

=========================

On August 20, 2021, it was announced that Miljevic signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with CF Montréal.[3]

On September 13, 2023, it was reported that Miljevic, against the terms of his contract with CF Montréal, played three matches in the indoor amateur Québec Calcetto Soccer League, using the false name Matko Milojevic, where he tallied six goals and two assists. Additionally, while spectating a match in the league, he was also alleged to have spat on and struck a player in the face, resulting in his ejection from the soccer centre where the game was being played and lifetime suspension from the league.[7]

On September 18, 2023, MLS terminated the Miljevic's contract for engaging in conduct detrimental to the league and violating his Standard Player Agreement.
