US Men's National Team (7 Viewers)

Musah is sent out on loan to Atalanta. Rabiot has been signed by Milan (which I assume made the Musah loan easier). Surprisingly Fabrizo says there is no obligation to buy. If Atalanta do decide to buy, total price, including loan, will be 25m.

I don't know how much time Musah will get at Atalanta but they are at least in Champions League so there should be more minutes to go around.

Tata going full bore with no Yanks on Inter Miami if this is true

Surprise: @DiMarzio reports that Benjamin Cremaschi (20 years old) would be loaned to Parma Calcio 1913 with a purchase option for 4.5 million €.

High expectations are placed on the footballer. It’s an interesting move for the future for both parties.
looks like this is going through.

Cremaschi is doing his medical tomorrow.

Pukstas lining up as the 10 today and he got off the mark for the season. Game is 1-1 at the half. I do wonder if he's in the shop window this last day.
here is his goal

Dang. That's purty.
2nd goal was similar although headed. He seems to have a good feel for that run, which is interesting because IMO his best position is deeper lying where he just fights for every ball.

It's unclear where he fits into our pool as the level of competition is questionable and Hajduk have blocked a lot of youth NT call ups (including Olympics). He needs a move soon to play at a higher level.

well that was really random.

I was out shopping and saw a kid walking toward me with a Euro soccer shirt on, that I did not immediately recognize. The kid was probably around 5. As he passed me, my eye caught the name on the shirt.

Diskerud

In looking it up, it may have been the IFK Göteborg jersey.

Not as good as an Obi Ajax jersey, but itll count.

I don't know of any way to look up to see if this has ever happened before to a US player in Europe, but even if it has, it is the rarest of rares.

Aidan Morris has won his 3rd straight Player of the Game award.

Now on the surface this is pretty amazing. What makes it even more incredible is when you factor in that these awards always favor the goal contributors and sometimes the keepers. Morris, playing DM, has not had a single goal contribution in any of the 3 games.

It's not as if Morris hasn't been in plenty of camps before. I don't know if Poch has had him, but he's had chances and failed to impress as a 6 at this level. It's great he's playing well now, but i don't expect anyone to just shuffle up their depth chart when a guy puts a handful of good weeks together.

The guy has improved year to year, and is by all accounts playing lights out. Thats how this all works- you cant leave him where he was 2-3 years ago because he didn't pop back then.

Were playing Seb fer chrissakes.

It wasn't that long ago. Dr. Google tells me that Poch started him against Mexico in his first camp. By the Nations League finals, he clearly preferred Tessman because Tanner made that team in March 2025 and Morris didn't. And by the Gold Cup, he was looking at guys like Seb presumably because he wasn't satisfied with what Morris or Tessman had brought.

And I'm not saying Seb should stay ahead of him (even if his set piece ability is a skill in short supply in the pool). But I'm saying that maybe one of these three man of the match performances happened when the staff was probably still evaluating players to bring in for this camp.

Calling up a guy that is several years older than Morris, was his backup a little over a year ago, and has never performed at Morris's level in MLS (much less beyond), while Aidan himself has shown measurable growth, seems more messaging than anything.

There is something else going on here.

Roldan has been playing lights out for the last two seasons. I'd have called him before LDT, Berhalter, or Zawadski.

Seb couldn't have been Morris' backup last year. He hasn't played for the Crew since 2021.

Dest RB Arfsten LB

or

Freeman RB Dest LB

and yes, I am bracing myself that Poch won't start Dest..... :kicksrock:
That would be bananas. Dest has the second best ball skills on the team, sometimes the best if Puli is getting whacked and going down easy. For a team that has struggled to break opponents down, leaving off a talent like Dest is pretty pretty pretty dumb. I say this as I really don't even like the guy very much and think he's got a t least 1 defensive liability in him per match.

But freeman works really hard. Obviously more important than the rest of that"soccer"stuff

Does anyone know what channel(s), if any, are showing the U20 World Cup at the end of this month?

US group is: France, South Africa and New Caledonia.

New Caledonia should be a lay up I hope.

As always, these tournaments are tough to gauge because we never know who is going to be released.

Looks like Fox Sports

9/29 6:00pm United States U20 vs New Caledonia U20 Fox Sports 1
10/2 3:00pm United States U20 vs France U20 Fox Sports 2
10/5 3:00pm South Africa U20 vs United States U20 Fox Sports 2

This is probably Dest just being Dest but he said in an interview today he is still probably 2 weeks away from being 100%, which is quite a statement given how well he is playing so far in his return.

He also expanded on being sent home from camp this summer and how he tried to fight it to play in the Gold Cup but ultimately he realized it was for the best in his recovery. I am hopeful that him trying to fight Poch to stay and play is the type of thing Poch loves.

Obviously a pretty low tempo and energy match, (so I'm not gonna go nuts over any of the highlights) but that's not the point. The talent is there. He needs minutes and the right situation. He needs to show consistent effort and a good attitude.

If that happens, things should hopefully take care of themselves by the end of the season

Anybody else going to the game on Saturday?

Let me know if there's anything youd like me to specifically keep an eye out for.
anybody?

I'll be trying to watch off the ball linkup and movement on the wings and CMF as well as how the forward is getting used (and moving). just general shape stuff that I don't get to see on TV.

Just no way I could justify it with the prices and the roster they called in.

Also running out of Golf weekends.

I think i paid 80 per ticket the day they were available.

By the time I looked, they were all "authorized re-sale" and the cheapest seat was 180.

Honestly, its more about the roster. I'm not giving them a dime until we prove we're a serious program that calls in the right players.
