US Men's National Team (14 Viewers)

That last sequence. Not one US player made a run in front of gonzo. He's dribbling up and 7 guys standing perfectly still in front of him...likely hiding from the fans.

I’m going to be very disappointed if Duane Holmes doesn’t make the roster and it’s weird to me he’s considered a bubble guy.

At least you guys got to be part of the Kevon Lambert Experience, albeit only on TV instead of within the magical confines of Casino Arizona Field.

#USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter on tonight’s defeat to Jamaica: “Overall, the effort was okay, but we performed poorly tonight.”

Yeah, no.

If all these guys aren’t gonna play anyway, I guess this game doesn’t really matter.  But it shows that the US team has some major depth issues.  Yikes that was ugly

Make the U20 team the new 2nd string.  Problem solved!
Much of the U20 side is likely to move on to the U23 side for Olympic qualifying later this year.

I am hopeful that 3-4 members of the current U20 side will have an effect on this cycle, eventually.

Lletget is officially out of the Gold Cup.

I wonder if that could open up a spot for Holmes (who was the only player who looked alive tonight)?

Dest's all-touch vs France is super.  He must be strong as an ox -- shrugs off the attacker in a physical 50/50 and comes out with the ball 3 or 4 times.

Can't believe I stayed up to watch that after getting home from my son's baseball game, I should have just fast forwarded it so it looked like they were moving fast. I kept waiting for it to get better.

Positives (if forced to pick any): Steffan, he had the one mistake playing around with the ball too much but other then that looked pretty solid. The goal would have been a hell of a save. I have way more confidence in him then Howard and Guzan the end of last cycle. Miazga I thought looked pretty solid and was the only field player that actually seemed in command.

I've seen a lot of comments on Robinson, and he did leave a lot to be desired but at least it seemed like he was making an effort, making runs and trying to make crosses and make something happen. Mihailovic was the anti-man of the match to me, he always seemed to either be giving the ball away or not in the right spot, hopefully he is sent back to Chicago and not even allowed to go to Cincinnati. Trapp was a disappointment, I want to like him, seems like a hard working guy and I want to believe his knowing what Berhalter wants is important. This should have been the type of competition he could look good against but instead he had little effort and that goal was on him and his lack of pressuring. Really hoped Sargent stepped up last night, instead he looked like a 19 year old.

The only two that should be starting come the actual Gold Cup are Steffan and Miazga. Roldan can be on the bench unless he turns the ball over that much in practice, CCV didn't really get to see much of so bring him along and I'll bring Sargent along because you don't want to break his confidence and hope he can turn it around.  Other then that the rest can go home or better be #'s 22 and 23 and never see the pitch unless we are up 4 goals.

Vastly different crew than that ugly experiment last night.  No CCV and Sargent immediately jumps out at me.  Glad to see Lewis there.
